TestingTime pays you for usability tests of apps, websites and products, in person or online. I tested it thoroughly myself. Below is what I found, and who it is worth joining for.
Legit and pays well, but few invites
TestingTime is legit and pays a significant amount per test. But invites are few and far between, mostly go to six European countries, and each test is first come, first served.

The short answer
TestingTime is legit. It pays you for usability tests, in person or online, and sometimes for short surveys. Each test pays well, and you always see what you will earn before you take part.
But test invites are few and far between. In my experience, you are lucky to get 1 invite a month, and each test is first come, first served. Most invites go to its core countries in Europe, so it is best as an extra site.
- Payment via PayPal or bank transfer
- A significant reward per test
- TestingTime pays the PayPal fees
- You see the reward before you take a test
- You can sign up from any country
- Limited earning opportunities
- A test takes 30 minutes to an hour
- Each test is first come, first served
- Few invites outside its core countries
- A €21 payout threshold now, at least in some countries

Is TestingTime legit and safe?
Yes, TestingTime is legit. It pays you for taking part in its tests. These are the catches.
- Few invites
In my experience, you are lucky to get 1 invite a month, and TestingTime says there is no guarantee you get invites regularly.
- First come, first served
Invites come by email, and you compete with other members for the slots. Check your email often. Tests are sometimes also posted on its Facebook page.
- Be on time
If you do not show up at the agreed time, you should not expect more tests. If you have to cancel, let them know as soon as possible.
- A payout threshold, at least in some countries
It used to have no threshold. My account now needs €21 before I can withdraw. A bank transfer may also cost a fee, by country and bank.
My takeIf you live in one of its core countries, TestingTime is worth signing up for as an extra site. Just do not expect a lot of tests. To earn regularly, join other sites too.
How you earn on TestingTime
There are three ways to earn. Tap one to read more.
Usability testsDepends on the test
You test apps, websites, products and gadgets, in person with the client or online via Skype. Some of the biggest companies in Europe test with TestingTime.
Invites come by email, first come, first served. You pick a time, and a moderator guides you through each step. Think out loud and answer truthfully: the moderator wants to understand your thought process.
You need Skype, a webcam, a microphone and a quiet room. A test takes around 30 minutes to an hour. You might also be invited to an in-person interview.
Short surveysPays the least
Sometimes you can also earn by taking short surveys. They are the easiest way to earn on TestingTime, but they pay less than the tests.
Invite others5€ per new tester
After you sign up and confirm your email, you see a link to share. You earn 5€ when someone you invite completes their first test. Only joining is not enough.

How much can you make?
Each test pays well. In my experience, €50 for one test is possible, but you will not earn that much for every test. In-person tests pay the most, online tests a little less, and surveys the least.
But it all depends on getting invites. In my experience, you are lucky to get 1 invite a month, and each test is first come, first served. So you cannot expect to earn a lot, and it depends mainly on where you live.
How TestingTime pays
Every test earns you euros. After your first test, you choose how you want to get paid.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | €21 in my account; none in some countries | TestingTime pays all fees, so you get the full amount |
| Bank transfer | €21 in my account; none in some countries | Extra fees are possible, by country and bank |
The money reaches your PayPal or bank account within 10 business days. The threshold is a bit confusing: it did not use to have one, my account now needs €21, and the FAQ says some countries may still have none. Check your account to see yours.

Who can join TestingTime?
You can sign up from any country with the registration form. But how many invites you get depends a lot on where you live.
Its core countries are Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Elsewhere, you should not expect many invites, if any. There is no app. You can test on a phone with Skype, but a computer with a good webcam gives clearer audio.
What readers asked me
This review has 8 comments since March 2020: 4 from readers and 4 replies from me. These are the two questions about TestingTime.
A reader from Pakistan asked. You can sign up anywhere, but I told him it will not work there, because invites go mostly to its core countries in Europe.
A reader asked for other sites to give feedback on digital products. I suggested a few user testing sites I have reviewed.
“Sir can i join this site i am from pakistan”
Mikael: No, it will not work in Pakistan.
“can you suggest sites where I can give feedback about digital products”
Mikael: yes, it definitely makes sense to join these types of sites as a user tester. They often do not have many projects but when they do have one, they pay quite well.
TestingTime alternatives I have tested
| Site | Best for | Min. cashout | My rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Userlytics | Usability tests with fairly high rewards | No threshold; PayPal | 3.6 / 5 |
| UserTesting | Video tests on websites and apps, paid through PayPal | No threshold; PayPal 14 days after a test | 3.4 / 5 |
| User Interviews | Paid research studies, mostly for US residents | No threshold; paid per study | 3.4 / 5 |
| Trymata | Website tests, thinking out loud | Paid per approved test | 3.0 / 5 |

Am interested working with you,i have a friend working with the platform and it’s good
I explain how you can get started in the review above.
Sir can i join this site i am from pakistan
No, it will not work in Pakistan.
In Pakistan, you need to go for the worldwide sites. I have a video about the best of these sites here.
Hey Mikael! I think I’ll join this site(I just read a comment, someone from Indonesia saying that she got paid through it on your YouTube channel, so I might as well give it a try. Who knows I might get lucky.)
One more thing, can you suggest sites where I can give feedback about digital products(not text based, I already have joined more than 10 GPT websites) through voice(if it would be screen recording, than that would be even great).
I don’t have an external webcam with my laptop & right now, pretty much everything is closed here (both online & offline due to Covid-19), so can’t buy a webcam & the camera of my laptop really sucks.
So if I can record videos through my mobile that would be great or maybe screen recording websites through my laptop that would be fine too.
I saw your ProductTube video & your article on this blog, unfortunately it is only available in USA.
The only testing sites I know are MindSwarms, Usertesting & Testingtime which I’ll be trying.
Even if I have to test Mobile application that would be fine too.
I’m from Mumbai, India by the way.
Thanks in advance for your time & reply.

There are a few other similar sites I have review of you can check out:
UserTribe
UserLytics
Userfeel
TryMyUI
Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.
And also you may want to know that I just received a 10.00 payout from MyPoints and I am waiting on a 15.00 payout from branded surveys.
And cricket mobile does make good on deducting your survey points from your cell account balance.
That is great to hear. Thanks for sharing that. MyPoints and Branded Surveys are definitely two great sites.
