UXTesting has closed
The UXTesting website is down. You cannot join or earn on it now. I keep my review below as a record. The user testing sites I would pick instead are further down.
UXTesting paid testers to try out websites, apps and products and record their feedback on video. It has now closed. I tested it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which user testing sites I would pick instead.
UXTesting has closed
UXTesting has closed, so you can no longer earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, with automatic PayPal payouts and no threshold, but it had few projects.

The short answer
UXTesting has closed. Its website is down, so you can no longer join or earn there.
When it was running, it was a legit user testing site. Its payout system was convenient: PayPal, automatic and with no threshold. But it had few testing projects, and its website gave little information about how the tests worked.
- Processed payouts automatically
- No payout threshold
- Paid through PayPal
- You could apply from anywhere
- UXTesting has closed
- Limited earning opportunities
- The site lacked information about the testing projects
- Its app was only an APK file, not in the app stores
My experience with UXTesting
I registered as a UXTesting tester and looked at how projects, payouts, the app and support worked. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

- A physical product test. I never got to do one, so that part of my review is based on my experience with other sites.
- The sample test. The site mentioned one, but I never got it.
- A payout. My review does not show a payment from UXTesting.

UXTesting has closed. Other user testing sites are still open, and many of them have more projects.

Was UXTesting legit and safe?
UXTesting has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because you could really earn rewards from it. These were the catches.
- It has closed
The UXTesting website is down.
- Few projects
There were not a lot of projects, so it was not something you could regularly earn from.
- Little information
The website said little about how the testing projects worked, so you did not know what kind of test you would get until an invite arrived.
- An app outside the app stores
The site said its app was in the Google and iOS app stores, but I could not find it there. The only link was an APK file you had to install manually.
My takeUXTesting has closed, so it is no longer an option. Even when it was running, it was not a bad user testing site, but there were far better options with more opportunities to earn. See the alternatives below.
How you earned on UXTesting
There was one way to earn: testing projects. Tap it to read more.
Testing projects$10 for 30 minutes
From time to time, UXTesting invited you to a testing project by email. There was no member dashboard, so everything was done through email, and the invite had the instructions for the test.
UXTesting did not specialize in one kind of testing, so you did not know if you would test a website, an app or a product until you got the invite. For an app test, you had to install the UXTesting app.
For every project, you recorded a video of your thoughts, with a front-facing camera and a microphone, in a quiet room. You submitted it, and if everything checked out, you received the reward from the invite.

How much could you make?
Testers were paid $10 for a 30-minute test, a bit below the average rate in my experience. Tests of more than an hour paid significantly more, but they were few and far between.
What you could earn mostly depended on how many projects you got, and there were not a lot of them. That is why I classified its earning potential as quite low.
How UXTesting paid
You earned the amount in the testing invite, and it was sent to you through PayPal, so you needed a PayPal account.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | None | Processed automatically after your work was approved. Up to one week to reach your PayPal. |
The payout process was relatively straightforward, and I liked that there was no payout threshold. But one week is a bit of a long time to wait. For sites that pay quickly, see the fastest paying sites.
