Conversion Crimes Review – Worth It? (Detailed Inside Look)

Conversion Crimes Rating

Conversion Crimes is not a bad user testing site. However, it pays a relatively small amount compared to other user testing sites. It will take quite a long time before you will be able to earn a significant amount from it.

I tested Conversion Crimes myself to see if its user testing projects are worth your time. It is legit and pays weekly through PayPal, but the pay is low and projects are rare. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Personally Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit user testing, but low pay and few projects

Weekly PayPal payouts with no threshold. Lower pay than other user testing sites, and you may get one project a week.

Good for you ifYou already do user testing and want one more site, and you are comfortable speaking your thoughts out loud on a recording.
Skip it ifYou want regular earnings, or you do not want to record your screen and voice.

The short answer

Conversion Crimes is legit. It pays you to do user testing projects, through PayPal, every week, with no payout threshold.

But it pays a relatively small amount compared to other user testing sites, and the opportunities are limited. Consider yourself lucky if you get one project every week. Only join if you want another user testing site next to your main ones.

What I like
  • Pays via PayPal
  • No payout threshold
  • Processes payments automatically every week
  • Tests can be done on a computer or a mobile device
  • Open worldwide
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Low rewards compared to other user testing sites
  • You must pass practice tests first
  • You have to record your screen and talk out loud

Is Conversion Crimes legit and safe?

Yes, Conversion Crimes is legit, because it pays you to do user testing projects. But that does not automatically make it worth your time. Here is what you should know.

  • Few projects

You do not control how often you are offered a project. Some weeks you get a couple, some weeks none. Consider yourself lucky if you get one every week.

  • Low pay

The reward rate is not that great. Plenty of other user testing sites pay better.

  • The client rates your video

After a paid test, you submit your video and wait for the client to rate it. You only get paid if it meets their standard, so give useful feedback, speak clearly and answer every question.

  • You record your screen and voice

You install VidGrid, record your screen and say your thoughts out loud during the whole test. If you are not comfortable with that, this is not the right opportunity for you.

  • Your country matters

Anyone can join, but clients often look for testers in specific countries. People in the US, UK and Canada usually get more projects.

My takeConversion Crimes is not a bad user testing site. However, it pays a relatively small amount compared to other user testing sites. Plus, the opportunities to earn are quite limited, so it will take quite a long time before you will be able to earn a significant amount from this site. I would recommend you only join it if you need another user testing site to earn from.

How you earn on Conversion Crimes

There is only one way to earn: user testing projects.

User testing projectsBy test length
Practice tests in the Conversion Crimes dashboard

Log in to the member dashboard to see available projects. Each one shows about how long it takes.

First you take practice tests, so Conversion Crimes can check your skills. You install VidGrid to record your screen, and you need a microphone or headset and a quiet room. You speak your thoughts out loud during the whole test. If you fail, you get a second chance later with a different set of tests.

On a paid project, you submit your video and wait for the client to rate it. If it passes their standard, you get paid. To pass, give valuable feedback, speak clearly, think out loud, set up VidGrid by the final training test, and answer every question in the tasks.

How much can you make?

The pay depends on the expected length of the test. The highest-paying projects have 12 tasks or more, and a test on a mobile device pays $1 more. You are paid for the set length, not for how long your video is, so take your time.

You have no control over how often you get a project. Sometimes you get a couple in a week, sometimes none. Consider yourself lucky if you get one every week.

The reward rate is also not that great, and plenty of other user testing sites pay better. That is why the earning potential is not that good. It takes a long time to earn a significant amount.

How you get paid

MethodMinimumSpeed
PayPalNoneProcessed automatically every Monday evening (EST)

Every completed project is credited to your account balance. Each Monday evening (EST), Conversion Crimes pays what you earned from Tuesday of the previous week to your PayPal account. There is no threshold to reach.

The payment system is very simple, and PayPal is very convenient. For more sites with this method, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Joining, devices and support

Conversion Crimes is available worldwide. Fill out the registration form and click the link in the confirmation email. During registration, you say which devices you can test on.

There is no app, but the website is optimized for mobile, so you should not have a hard time using it on your phone. For tests of mobile apps, the screen recording program has a mobile version.

The Tester Help Center covers most topics, and there is a video tutorial on how to do tests. For anything else, click the message icon in the lower right-hand corner of the website to start a conversation with support.
