I signed up for the Contentful Research Panel to see what you can earn from it. It is legit, but invites are rare and the rewards are not cash. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first if you want to earn.
Legit, but few studies and no cash rewards
You give feedback on Contentful’s own CMS. Rewards are digital vouchers and surprise gifts, not cash.

The short answer
The Contentful Research Panel is legit. It is run by Contentful, a company that helps businesses manage the content of their websites. You sign up, and you may be invited to research studies that help Contentful improve its Content Management System (CMS).
But studies are limited, and the panel looks for specific people. I was never invited while I tested it. The rewards are digital vouchers and surprise gifts, and Contentful does not say how much you get. It does not offer cash, so if your goal is to earn extra cash, this is not the best site to join.
- Has a simple sign-up process
- Offers an interesting way to earn rewards
- No payout threshold: the reward comes after each study
- Open worldwide
- Support portal and a Discord channel
- Limited earning opportunities
- Not transparent with its reward system
- No cash rewards
- Mainly for people who work with CMS tools
- No mobile app, and most studies need a computer

Is the Contentful Research Panel legit and safe?
Yes, it is legit. It comes from Contentful, a real software company. But that does not make it a good way to earn. Here is what you should know.
- Very few invites
The panel only tests Contentful’s own products, so I do not expect a lot of studies. I was never invited while I tested it. Consider yourself lucky if you get an invite once in a couple of months.
- The rewards are unclear
Contentful says you get digital vouchers and surprise gifts, often non-monetary perks like premium features of its CMS. It does not say how much you earn per study, and it does not offer cash.
- It looks for specific people
The panel wants people who work with CMS tools. If you do not, you will hardly find any opportunities to earn.
- Do not reject too many invites
You do not have to accept an invite. But in my experience, rejecting too many tells the panel you are not interested, and you may not be invited again.
- You need a computer
There is no mobile app. Apart from online surveys, the studies need you to sit in front of a computer.
My takeIn my opinion, the Contentful Research Panel is not for everyone. I would only recommend you join if you have used, are currently using, or plan to use Contentful products, because then you have a higher chance of getting invited to studies. You also help shape the products Contentful will release. If you do not fit the bill, you will find little value in this panel.
How you earn on the Contentful Research Panel
There is only one way to earn: research studies.
Research studiesVouchers or gifts
You need an invite from Contentful, sent by email, so check your inbox regularly. The invite has the details of the study: the type, the date and time, and the compensation. For a survey, the link is in the email. For more complicated studies, you get further instructions once you decide to take part.
Most studies are online surveys or one-on-one interviews done online. Usability or prototype tests come up from time to time, but they are not very common. You give feedback that helps Contentful improve its CMS and user experience.
After a survey, the panel checks your feedback, and if everything is in order, you receive the compensation. For one-on-one studies, the compensation is processed as soon as the study is completed.
How much can you make?
I cannot say clearly, because Contentful gives little information about its rewards. What you earn depends mostly on how many studies you are invited to, and you have no control over that.
Niche panels like this one do not offer as many studies as user testing sites with a broader scope. Qualifying is also not easy, unless you have a lot of experience with its CMS. The earning potential is only quite decent if you use its CMS regularly.

How you get rewarded
| Reward | Notes |
|---|---|
| Digital vouchers | Contentful does not say which vouchers or how much |
| Surprise gifts | Usually non-monetary perks, like access to premium features of its CMS or early access to new features |
| Cash | Not offered |
There is no threshold: the reward is sent after you complete a study. The payout system is simple, but it would have been better if Contentful explained how its rewards work.

Who can join, and how
There is no country restriction, so the panel is available worldwide. But it is only meant for content editors, marketers or developers who use CMS tools, designers or product managers who manage or publish digital content, and business owners or IT professionals who decide on content management systems. Potential users can qualify too, if they match the criteria of a study.
To sign up, you fill out the registration survey. It asks about your experience with CMS tools, so be honest: Contentful uses your answers to find studies that suit you. You then get a confirmation email with your signed copy of the “Opt-in to research” form, and you wait for an invite.
There is no mobile app. You can read invites on your phone, but apart from online surveys, the studies need a computer.
