8 best mining apps for Android and iPhone

Before we discuss the best mining apps for Android and iPhone, let me first make something clear again that I already mentioned briefly earlier, but it is very important to understand.

Technically speaking, you can’t do any regular mining on phones in most cases. That’s because traditional mining apps are not available in both app stores.

Instead, the apps I will be listing below are what are called cloud mining apps, or in some cases, you can claim free crypto. The good thing about this kind of mining app is that it will not affect your device’s performance and battery compared to traditional mining equipment.

Also, keep in mind that this is not a prioritized list, so the app you should choose should be the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

I will keep updating this list if I find more opportunities, so make sure to bookmark this page and check on it from time to time for newer apps.

#1 Pawns

COIN is a geomining app that lets you collect digital coins, which you can use to redeem actual rewards. All you have to do is install the app and press a button. Then, the app will start mining when you move around from one location to another.

If you love to go out and run to exercise, this can be a great app to use. You can also just let it run when you go to work because you will effectively be traveling.

The thing you have to keep in mind with COIN is that you won’t be mining crypto. Instead, you’ll be mining their digital currency, which you can exchange for various rewards like Bitcoin, Ethereum, XYO, or electronic devices.

It is available more or less worldwide, so you can register as a member regardless of where you live. And best of all, COIN will work with both Android and iOS devices.

#3 Honeygain

How you earn
Passive appShares your unused internet
Cash out from
$0.50via JumpTask; PayPal from $20

If you are looking for a passive way to earn crypto, Honeygain is an easy way to do this, both from your Android or iOS device.

Once you have installed it, you will earn whenever you are online by sharing your unused internet.

You can get paid in the crypto JMPT. If you do this, there is no payout threshold. If you want to get paid via PayPal, you need to earn $20 to withdraw. You will get a $3 joining bonus just for signing up.

#4 Cointiply

How you earn
Daily bonuses, plus surveys, offers and games
Cash out from
$3Bitcoin from $5
Paid in
Bitcoin · Litecoin · Doge +1 more

Cointiply is actually a GPT site that offers you many different ways to earn crypto. One of the methods is free daily bonus opportunities, where you just have to click a button to claim extra bonuses.

However, this is only really worth it if you also use some of the other earning methods, as how many bonus opportunities you get depends on how active you are overall.

Once you have earned $3.50, you can get paid in Doge, Dash, or LTC. If you want to get paid in Bitcoin, the payout threshold is $5.

#5 Pi Network

How you earn
Passive appTap to mine Pi every 24 hours
Cash out from
No cash-out yetyou cannot exchange Pi yet
Paid in
Pi coins

Pi Network is a mining app that will allow you to mine a specific cryptocurrency without building a mining rig. It was developed by Stanford graduates.

To start mining, all you have to do is download and install the app on your device. Then, when you log in, you just need to press the mine icon and the app will mine continuously for 24 hours. When the mining stops, all you have to do is log back in and press the mine icon.

That’s all you really need to do. However, keep in mind that this app is still in development, and at the time of writing this guide, their cryptocurrency, called Pi is still not being traded. That means it still doesn’t have its monetary value.

It’s still in the process of finishing its KYC (Know your customer) process. Once it is all done, you can expect to see the real monetary value of this altcoin.

The good thing about this app is, it is available worldwide, so you will be able to mine regardless of where you live. Plus, it will work with both Android and iOS devices.

#6 Mirex Network

How you earn
Passive appTap daily to mine LUM · Android app
Cash out from
No cash-out yetLUM has no value yet
Paid in
LUM tokens

Mirex Network is a blockchain project that lets you earn LUM (Lumira tokens) by simply clicking a button daily. All you have to do is install its mobile app, which is only available to Android users.

Once it is installed, you just have to log in to the app and click the Start Mining button once a day to start mining LUM tokens. Then, you’ll have to watch a video ad before you can start mining.

It is still in its early stages, so the crypto you will mine still doesn’t have any monetary value. So, you should 0nly join if you are willing to experiment without financial risk and not looking to earn extra cash immediately.

You will need an invite code to join, so you can use mine, which is MikeM.

#7 Ember Fund

How you earn
Passive appTap daily to mine Bitcoin, plus tournaments and surveys
Cash out from
$50around 50K sats
Paid in
Bitcoin · To any crypto wallet

Ember Fund is one of the easiest ways to mine free Bitcoin from your phone. But it also offers more ways to earn.

It started as a crypto portfolio management app you can use to invest in crypto. It still has this option, but you can also mine Bitcoin just by clicking a button once per day, and you can also earn by participating in free tournaments, taking surveys, and more.

It works with both Android and iOS devices. And if you join through the link below, you will get a boost to your base mining rate to earn more.

#8 CryptoTab

How you earn
Passive appMining browser · I no longer recommend it
Cash out from
0.00001 BTC
Paid in
Bitcoin

Short summary (important warning):
CryptoTab is a web browser that is designed to mine cryptocurrency. To start mining cryptocurrency, you will have to install the CryptoTab browser on your mobile device.

Then, you just have to enable the mining feature, and it will start mining.

However, it used to pay without problems, but both I and many of my readers now have problems getting paid from it, and their support does not reply. That is why I no longer recommend CryptoTab, but still wanted to leave it here on this list, as many people ask about it and want to make it clear why it is no longer one of my recommended mining apps. You can read the full update about this through the link below.

How much can you earn?

Mining crypto on your phone is not the traditional way of mining crypto. A traditional mining rig costs a lot of money, but it earns more because it has much more computing power. A phone does not come anywhere close.

You will not earn a lot

You only earn a very small fraction of what a traditional mining rig earns.

No money to invest

You earn completely passively once things are set up, so everything you earn is profit. A good entry into crypto, if you are patient.

The apps on this list work in different ways:

  • Cloud miningThe company has the equipment, and you “borrow” it. There are not a lot of good apps that do real cloud mining.
  • Free crypto automaticallySome of the most realistic ways to earn free crypto on your phone are not mining as such, so I include some of them too.
  • AltcoinsIn some apps you mine altcoins instead of Bitcoin. Most have real value, and you can convert them to more popular crypto, or keep them in case their value rises.

Mining scam for Android and iPhone to be careful of

Going to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store is NOT a good way to find legit mining apps.

You cannot check the app

You have no way of verifying if the company behind an app actually has the mining equipment, or will really let you earn free crypto. In my experience, most of them are a waste of time or even outright scams.

Stay away from

Apps that promise unrealistically high earnings.

Use instead

The apps on this list. I have tested them personally, and they are all legit and free to join.

How I choose the sites on this list

Mikael

I only put a site on this list when I have tested it myself. I test hundreds of sites every year, and I keep this list updated.
