Pawns Review 2026: Is It Legit? My Tested Results and Payment Proof

Pawns can be a great way to earn some extra cash online. It will allow you to earn a bit passively, and you can earn actively by taking paid surveys, playing games, and more. It also has great payout options.

I have used Pawns since 2021 and have been paid by it several times. Below is my payment proof, what it really pays, and what you should know before you install it.

The short answer

Pawns is legit. It is real and not a fake scam, and I have been paid by it several times. It was called IPRoyal Pawns before. It is the same platform.

You can earn passively by sharing your unused internet, and actively with surveys and games. To get the most out of it, you need to also take the surveys or play the games. And the earning potential is not the same in all countries.

What I like
  • A passive way to earn
  • Low payout threshold of $5
  • Good payment methods: PayPal, Bitcoin, Payoneer, Visa, gift cards
  • User-friendly app for Android and iOS
  • Great bonus opportunities, such as the weekly leaderboard
What I don’t like
  • It can, in some cases, slow down your internet connection a bit
  • 4% fee on PayPal payouts
  • Earnings from sharing internet are low in many countries
  • Support can take a lot of back and forth

My experience with Pawns

I have had a Pawns account since 2021. This is what I did myself.

Is Pawns legit and safe?

Yes, Pawns is legit. It really pays you, and I have been paid by it myself. But you share your internet connection with its clients, so you should know how that works before you start.

  • Other companies use your connection

IPRoyal, the company behind Pawns, sells proxy services to other companies. They use your unused bandwidth to test their apps, to reach geo-blocked content, or to check that their ads show up on the right websites. Pawns explains on its website how it keeps this safe. Read its FAQ, and ask their support if you have technical questions.

  • It can slow your internet

When someone uses your unused bandwidth, your connection can be slower than usual. It depends on your device and connection. If you need the bandwidth, just close the program.

  • One device per network

There is no point in installing it on several devices on the same network or IP address. Use different connections, for example your mobile connection.

  • The first cashout can take longer

In my experience, there will always be a delay the first time you cash out on a survey site. They have a lot of fraud, so they need to check everything first.

  • Check the fee before you cash out

PayPal has a 4% fee. A reader who cashed out $5.14 in Bitcoin saw a $4 fee. Some gift cards have no fee. Look at the fee on the payout screen before you confirm.

  • Never use a VPN

Using a VPN will get you banned. Survey sites block you immediately, even if it is an accident.

My takeIf you are looking for a passive income method to earn a bit extra, I would say Pawns can be worth considering. And if you also take the surveys, play games, and use some of the other earning methods, you can earn a lot faster. Just be aware that some countries have better earning potential than others.

How you earn on Pawns

There are 5 ways to earn. Surveys have become one of the best ones. Tap one to read more.

Sharing your internet connection$0.20 per GB
Pawns devices available

You install the program and let it run in the background. It is passive, so it needs no effort after the setup. It is no longer as big a part of Pawns as it used to be, and it is now only possible from a computer.

You earn $0.20 per gigabyte you sell. For each hour you keep the program running, you get an extra $0.02 per GB shared.

Paid surveysOne of the best ways
Pawns surveys examples

Pawns has a lot of paid surveys, now in around 100 countries. You find them on the website and in the app, but there are more in the app.

Get paid to play gamesPaid per minute

You choose a mobile game in the “get paid to play” section and get paid per minute you play. Compared to the many other playtime apps I have tested, Pawns pays more than the average for your time.

Weekly leaderboard$150, $100, $50
Pawns leaderboard rules

Every task gives you points. The weekly top member gets a $150 bonus, second place $100, and third place $50. You can only see the leaderboard in the app.

Affiliate program10% commission

You get a 10% commission every time your referral withdraws earnings. The person who joins through your link gets a $1 one-time bonus.

How much can you make?

For sharing internet, you earn $0.20 per gigabyte, plus bonuses for the hours you are connected. That is not a huge amount, but it piles up over time.

Pawns claims that users earn, on average, anywhere from $5 to $140 per month with the passive method. That depends mostly on your location and your network speed. The US and countries in Europe have the highest earning potential.

To get the most out of it, you definitely need to also take the surveys or play the games, in my experience.

Payout methods, minimums and fees

MethodMinimumFee
PayPal$54%
Bitcoin$5Shown before you confirm
Payoneer$5Shown before you confirm
Visa virtual card$5Shown before you confirm
Gift cards$5None for some gift cards

The exact payout options depend on your country. In some countries there are only Visa virtual gift cards or none at all. In others you can choose between 50+ gift cards.

Once you request a payout, it usually arrives the same day, in my experience. Use your own verified PayPal account, or you can run into problems.

Is Pawns worth it in your country?

You can join Pawns from all countries, but some countries offer more opportunities than others. Pick your country to see where Pawns stands on my list of the best sites there.

        • Survey sites are very strict if you use VPN, eve if it is an accident. Most sites will block you immediately if you use VPN, as they see a lot of fraud from people trying to fake their country. You can try explaining to their support, but often there is nothing to do. If that is the case, you have to use other sites instead and make sure not to make the same mistake.

  3. Hello, I have a question about pawns, I have been receiving low earnings on pawns, I am living in Ontario Canada on a 100 mbps download and 100 mbps upload speed connected via ethernet but I am not receiving much earnings (I have earned 1 dollar after running this for a year with the windows computer being on 24/7).

Do you have any idea why I am earning so little and how to improve it? For a comparison, honeygain running on the same computer is earning around 7 cents per day.

  8. I tried to sell my unused 50GB bandwidth; left the program running for over 24 hours on my laptop with a 3G/4G network, but was only able to sell 0.002 GB of internet data the whole hours, too sad and too slow! I lost the entire 50GB to expiration and won’t consider this passive whatever anymore. Maybe as you mentioned, it could be due to my geographical location? I live in Nigeria BTW.

    Reply
    • Yes, it is because of your location. You will not earn a lot by sharing your unused internet in your country. Also, it is not meant as a way to just quickly sell what you have left but best to use if you let it run continously and regularly, as I explain above. Therefore, it is best to use that method of earning if you have an internet plan that is unlimited.

  9. So I was filling out surveys today until I had a headache, but the price of Bitcoin is great right now, so I thought it would be worth it to get to payout today.

It took me a lot longer than expected to get to an amount over $5. (A few cheap surveys turned out to be incredibly long and many surveys either didn’t pay or I wasn’t a good fit after a few minutes) But when I clicked “payout” after a few hours and chose Bitcoin and saw the following:

    Your Balance: $5.14
    Fee: $4

    Total: $1.14

There are instructions below to make another account on Bitlocus (and only Bitlocus) because that way you wouldn’t have to pay the $4 dollar fee to receive the $1 dollar. However, when I tried to do that, I couldn’t figure it out. It doesn’t help that Bitlocus seems to be a small crypto exchange that would need to completely verify your identity before you could trade there starting with a minimum order of $10… which isn’t the same as $5. That’s a pretty relevant detail. The only way to get 5 bucks of Bitcoin transferred for free is to a seemingly mediocre exchange where you can’t use the money until you have another 5 bucks.

So if you were planning on using your current crypto wallet, you should know that there’s a “minimum fee” of (at least?) 4 dollars. I don’t know if that means it could be even higher.

The fee for PayPal is the same as in the review; 4%. A little high, but doable. The other options are VISA and Amazon gift cards (in The Netherlands). The gift cards carry a 0% fee.

The app works well so far, everything else is quite simple. I just thought I’d share the current payout details.

    Reply
    • Thanks for sharing. I agree it would be great if the fee was lower for certain payout options. It is likely because those methods also carry a higher fee for Pawns. But I suggest you contact their support also – maybe if enough people request it, then will see what they can do about the fees.

    • Yes, you can join from all countries. But as far as I am aware PayPal is not available in your country so you have to use another payout option. As mention in the review above, Pawns also offers gift cards in addition to Bitcoin as a reward in most countries. You can see inside the platform which options are available in your country.

  14. I know this app has changed since you wrote this review so I’d like to give an update based on my recent experience.

I joined based on the info here and was very disappointed when requesting my first cash out. It was quick to reach $5 but after a full day of it still showing as “in progress”, I contacted support and was told that I have to wait a full week for them to verify the surveys that I took. They claim that future payouts will be quicker but I’m not holding my breath. I chose the virtual Visa card option so I can send it to myself in PayPal.

I am currently unemployed and generally rely on quick paying survey sites to buy food daily. I know I should not count on them but my state offers very little unemployment assistance and I really don’t have other options. I used to do Survey Spin and other Social Loop apps until they started delaying payments by about 24 hours. I’m kicking myself for not using that app yesterday.?

    Reply
    • In my experience (and I have tested hundreds of survey sites) there will always be a delay the first time you cash out. Survey sites have a lot of fraud so they need to do this to check everything to stay in business.

But you can check out the fastest paying sites here. Just be aware that even of the sites that usually pay within a few minutes, you should still expect it to take longer the first time you cash out as a new member.

    • It is similar in many ways. In theory, you can use both at the same time but it will likely affect the earnings as it will probably slow down your connection and make it possible to share less data.
