Userpeek was a user testing site that planned to pay you for testing websites and apps. It has now closed. I looked at it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

The short answer

Userpeek has closed. Its website can no longer be accessed, and there was no announcement about it. You can no longer join or earn there.

When I reviewed it, the user testing part was still under development, with no launch date. It said it would pay through PayPal and claimed $10 for every 15 to 20 minutes of approved testing video, which is a decent rate. But user testing sites rarely have many tests, so you could not earn regularly from it.

What I like
  • Paid through PayPal
  • A decent rate per test
What I don’t like
  • Userpeek has closed
  • The testing was still under development when I reviewed it
  • Limited earning opportunities

My experience with Userpeek

I signed up for Userpeek and looked at its dashboard, payout option and support before it closed. The testing projects had not launched yet, so I could not do a paid test. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Userpeek legit and safe?

Userpeek has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When I reviewed it, the paid testing had not launched yet, so I could not confirm that it paid. These were the catches.

  • It has closed

The Userpeek website can no longer be accessed. There was no announcement about it.

  • Paid tests had not launched

When I reviewed Userpeek, the testing was still under development, with no exact launch date. You could sign up, but not earn right away.

  • Few chances to earn

User testing sites rarely have many tests available. Even at a decent rate per test, you could not earn regularly from it.

  • You had to speak your thoughts aloud

Every test was recorded, and you had to explain what you were doing. You needed a microphone and a quiet room, and you had to be comfortable thinking out loud.

My takeUserpeek has closed, so it is no longer an option. Even when it was online, I would only have used it next to other sites, because user testing sites rarely have many tests. See the alternatives below.

How you would have earned on Userpeek

There was one way to earn: testing projects. Tap it to read more.

Testing projects$10 per 15–20 min (claimed)
Earning on Userpeek

Members could see the available projects in the dashboard and got an email when a project was open to them. Each project had instructions to follow and deliverables to submit.

Website tests were done on a laptop or desktop in Google Chrome, with the Userpeek extension recording your screen. App tests needed a separate recording app, which was still under development. You explained what you were doing while you tested.

After you submitted your video, Userpeek reviewed it, which typically took a couple of days. Once approved, you received the pay shown in the project details.

How much could you make?

Userpeek claimed you could earn $10 for every 15 to 20 minutes of approved website testing video. In my experience, that is a decent rate, but other user testing sites pay more.

The real question was how many tests there would be. With a steady supply, the earning potential would have been quite decent. But most user testing sites do not have many tests, and then the earning potential is low.

How Userpeek paid

You received a set amount for every approved test.

PayPalNot clearFrom what I could gather, you were probably paid right after each approved test
