Swash says you can earn passively just by being online. I tested its browser extension and made a video of how it works. It is legit, but the rewards are low and paid only in crypto. Below is what I found, and which apps I recommend instead.
Legit, but low rewards and a complicated crypto payout
A browser extension earns you Swash tokens from your browsing data and ads. Other passive income apps pay more, often in cash.

The short answer
Swash is legit, because you can really earn rewards from it passively. You install a browser extension that gathers your browsing data, and Swash sells it to companies.
But the earning potential is low, and you are paid only in Swash tokens, a cryptocurrency that you withdraw to a crypto wallet. Swash is not a bad platform, but it does not give you a good reason to use it. There are better passive income apps.

- A slightly complicated payout method
- Desktop only, through Chrome or Firefox
- Earns by selling your browsing data
My experience with Swash
I installed the Swash extension, tried every way to earn and recorded a video of how it works. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Swash legit and safe?
Yes, Swash is legit, because you can really earn rewards from it passively. But legit does not mean it is worth it. Here is what you should know.
- Your browsing data is sold
The extension gathers data while you browse, and Swash sells it to companies. The site says it won’t gather any sensitive data, but personally, I’m not comfortable with this kind of earning opportunity.
- Paid only in crypto
You earn Swash tokens, and the value changes over time. You need a crypto wallet that works with the Gnosis Chain blockchain. If you are new to crypto, the payout is a bit complicated.
- Withdrawal conditions
You need more than 10 $SWASH, you must have used the new version of Swash for at least one month, and you can only request a withdrawal every 24 hours.
- Computer only
There is no mobile app yet, and the extension only works on Chrome and Firefox for computers.
My takeSwash is not a bad platform to earn passively from. However, it also doesn’t provide a good reason for you to use it. If you want to earn passively, there are better passive income apps out there. They offer better earning potential, and most of them also offer cash rewards.
Swash pays little, and only in crypto. Other passive income apps pay more, often in cash.

There are 3 ways to earn. All of them run through the browser extension. Tap one to read more.
Using the browser extensionPassive
Install the extension for Chrome or Firefox, enable it, and let it run in the background while you browse. It gathers data, and Swash sells it to companies that need it.
You get a share of the profit in Swash tokens, which you claim from the extension.
Viewing adsVery small
Go to Earn More in the extension and click Earn from Ads. Ads then appear while you browse. You choose how they appear, and you do not have to click them to earn.
You will not earn a lot from this, but it is an extra way to earn passively.
OffersLow
Offers are short tasks, usually installing a mobile app. Follow every step, or you do not get the reward.
The rewards are quite low. You earn more for the same offers on popular GPT sites like Swagbucks or PrizeRebel.
How much can you make?
Swash does not explain in detail how much you earn when it sells your data. And because you are paid in crypto, the value changes from time to time. So it is hard to say what you can earn.
From what I saw when I tested it, the earning potential is quite low. That is to be expected, because it takes very little effort. Do not expect to earn a significant amount quickly.
How you get paid
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Swash tokens to a crypto wallet | More than 10 $SWASH | A wallet on the Gnosis Chain blockchain, such as MetaMask. At least one month on the new version of Swash, and 24 hours between requests. |
Your tokens are stored in your Swash wallet first. You then transfer them to a wallet like MetaMask, where you can exchange them for other crypto or sell them for cash.
The payout is a bit complicated compared to other passive income apps, especially if you are new to crypto.
