Survey Pay Review: Legit or Scam? (An Inside Look)

Survey Pay Rating

Survey Pay is not a bad app. That being said, it’s also not that good either. Sure, it has a decent number of earning opportunities offered, but it pales in comparison to the more popular GPT sites and apps.

I tested the Survey Pay app to see if it is worth your time. When I tested it, it worked as a small GPT app with a $5 PayPal cashout. Since then, several readers report being asked for a fee. Below is what I found, and which apps I would pick first.

The short answer

When I tested it, Survey Pay was a legit Get-Paid-To (GPT) app: you got paid for its offers, surveys and videos, with a $5 PayPal cashout. It was not a bad app, but it was also not that good. It pales in comparison to the more popular GPT sites and apps.

Since then, several readers report that they were asked to pay a fee to start, and that they could not cash out or lost money. When I tested it, Survey Pay did not ask for a fee, so this may be a scam using the same name. Never pay to join a survey app. I recommend you use the alternatives below instead.

What I like
  • PayPal cashout from $5 when I tested
  • Available more or less worldwide
  • Several ways to earn: offers, surveys, videos, referrals
What I don’t like
  • Several readers report being asked for a fee, and payouts that did not arrive
  • Limited earning opportunities compared to popular GPT apps
  • High threshold for crypto: 150,000 credits
  • Video ads pop up when you move between pages
  • The app uses a lot of battery, and you have to install it manually
  • Android only

Is Survey Pay legit and safe?

When I tested it, Survey Pay paid for the opportunities it offered. Since then, several readers report problems. Here is what you should know.

  • Readers are asked to pay a fee

In 2025, several readers in Kenya wrote that the app asked them to pay before they could take surveys, through a paybill number. When I tested it, Survey Pay did not ask for a fee. Any survey site that asks you to pay is a site to stay away from.

  • Readers report payouts that did not arrive

Readers since 2024 write that they could not cash out, that a withdrawal took a long time, or that their money was taken, and that nobody replied to them.

  • Make sure it is the real app

You have to install Survey Pay manually. The reports may come from a scam using the same name. If an app asks for money, do not pay and do not use it.

  • A high crypto threshold

PayPal starts at 5,000 credits ($5), but Bitcoin or Tether takes 150,000 credits ($150). That is very high to reach.

  • Ads and battery use

Video ads pop up when you move from one page to another, and the app uses more battery than you are used to.

My takeWhen I tested it, Survey Pay was not a bad app, but it was also not that good. It pales in comparison to the more popular GPT sites and apps. Several readers now report fees and payouts that did not arrive, so I would pick other apps first. Any survey site that requires you to pay is a site to stay away from.

How you earn on Survey Pay

There are 4 ways to earn. Surveys pay the most per task. Tap one to read more.

Paid offers100–500 credits
Paid offers in the Survey Pay app

Go to the “Earn” section and press the Offerwall option. Offers are short tasks: a survey or quiz, a mobile game, a video, signing up for a website or app, or viewing an ad.

Every offer has instructions. Miss even one step, and you do not complete the offer and do not get paid. When I tested it, offers paid around 100 to 500 credits ($0.1 to $0.5).

Paid surveys1,000–2,000 credits
Survey providers in the Survey Pay app

The surveys come from third-party providers. Press a provider, answer a few profile questions, and you see the available surveys with their credits. Each survey starts with questions to check if you fit. If you do not qualify, you move on to the next one.

When I tested it, surveys paid around 1,000 to 2,000 credits ($1 to $2), depending on your country. People in Europe or North America get plenty of surveys.

Watching videos0.5 credits
Watching video ads on Survey Pay

The videos are ads of 20 to 30 seconds. Let each one finish to get 0.5 credits. If you minimize the app, the timer pauses. The reward is very low, so only do this if you have nothing else to do.

Referral program100 credits each
Survey Pay referral program

Share your referral code. When your friend enters it after installing the app and registering, they get 50 credits and you get 100 credits.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on how much time you put in. When I tested it, the app had a decent number of earning opportunities, but far fewer than the more popular GPT sites and apps.

Offers paid around 100 to 500 credits ($0.1 to $0.5) and surveys around 1,000 to 2,000 credits ($1 to $2), depending on your country. You will not always qualify for surveys, so it takes patience to reach the $5 PayPal threshold.

Given the recent reader reports, I would not put time into it now. If an app asks you to pay to earn, you will not get that money back.

Payout methods and minimums

MethodMinimum
PayPal5,000 credits ($5)
Bitcoin150,000 credits ($150)
Tether150,000 credits ($150)

Every earning method pays in credits, which you convert to cash or crypto. The PayPal threshold is relatively low. The crypto threshold is very high. Readers since 2024 report that they could not cash out, or that a withdrawal took a long time.

Joining, devices and support

Survey Pay is mobile only, and only for Android. You install the app manually, fill out the sign-up form and enter the verification code from your email. On an iPhone, see the best money-making apps for iOS.

It is available more or less worldwide. Survey availability depends on your location.

The Help section only covers a few basic topics. To contact support, click the message icon in the lower right-hand corner of the Help page. It opens your email app with the support address filled in.

But please also let me know more about your Survey Pay experiences as it sounds very strange and would like to know as many details as possible so I can help people avoid it, if there is a scam using the same name.

        • From Kenya, I paid ksh. 90/- for registration and ksh.100/- to access categorized surveys…

Per completed survey of 20 questions I earn ksh. 30/- and am to accumulate ksh. 10,000 for me to withdraw the funds..

Please, how many surveys is one expected to do? because I can see people withdrawing ksh. 40,000 and am confused how they got there..

          Reply
          • Who exactly did you pay this to? On which website or app exactly? Because usually survey sites that charge a fee are scams.
