Is SocialGood Legit or a Scam? (All You Need to Know)

SocialGood Rating

SocialGood isn’t a bad cashback app. However, it isn’t that great either. It has some glaring issues, and I have had some bad experiences with it. But whether it is the right option for you or not really depends on your shopping habits and the rewards you prefer.

Warning: readers report they cannot withdraw their SG

SocialGood has changed its rules for the worse. Readers report that they cannot withdraw their SG at all, that withdrawals take months, or that they can only withdraw a tiny part of their balance. The latest report is from March 2026, and readers say support does not help.

SocialGood also charges a 30% fee when you move SG to an external wallet. When I tried to activate my own account, I followed the exact instructions to buy 200 SG, never received them, and lost the money I transferred. I have stopped using SocialGood, and I do not recommend it.

I tested SocialGood, a cashback app that pays you in its own cryptocurrency when you shop online. It looked promising at first, but it got worse and worse, and I lost money trying to activate my account. Below is what I found, and where you can earn crypto instead.

Not recommended: readers cannot withdraw, and fees are very high

The short answer

I do not recommend SocialGood. It rewards you with SG, its own cryptocurrency, when you shop through the app, and the cashback rates are high. When I first started using it, it looked quite promising.

But it has gotten worse and worse. It charges a 30% fee to move SG to an external wallet, you must buy 200 SG to activate your membership, and many readers report that they cannot withdraw their SG. I lost money trying to activate my own account and gave up on the app.

My experience with SocialGood

I used the SocialGood app, looked at the cashback offers, the referral program and staking, and tried to activate my membership. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is SocialGood legit and safe?

No, I do not recommend SocialGood anymore. It has made a lot of changes for the worse since I first joined. Here is what you should know.

  • Readers report they cannot withdraw

Readers report that SocialGood blocked withdrawals, that withdrawals take months, and that they could only withdraw a tiny part of their SG. Readers also list extra requirements before you can withdraw: approved SG, a verified membership, and $50 or more in recent shopping within the past 30 days.

  • I lost money activating my account

I followed the exact instructions in the app and transferred money to get 200 SG. I never received the SG, and the crypto I transferred seemed to be nowhere to be found. Support said their payment system had not detected my payment. Luckily, it was only around $7.

  • A 30% withdrawal fee

When I first joined, there was no fee. Now it charges 30% if you move your SG from the app to an external wallet. I have not seen any other crypto-earning app with fees this high.

  • You pay to activate, and your rewards are in SG

You must buy 200 SG to activate your membership, and all cashback comes in SG. What it is worth depends on the value of SG, so only use it if you believe in the long-term potential of the project.

  • Cashback can get rejected

Readers report purchases that were rejected without a reason, while other purchases from the same day were approved.

My takeSocialGood isn’t that great after having tested it for a while, and some of the changes they have made, for example the high withdrawal fee, make it a less-than-ideal cashback app. I also lost a bit of money trying to activate my membership and, therefore, decided to just give up using the app.

How you earn on SocialGood

There are 3 ways to earn, all paid in SG. Read the warning at the top before you start. Tap one to read more.

Cashback offersPaid in SG
Cashback offers on SocialGood

Open the app, tap a store and read the cashback details before you shop. Always go to the store through the app, or SocialGood cannot track your purchase.

The cashback reward takes about a month to show up, because your purchase first has to clear the refund period. There were a decent number of cashback offers when I tested it.

Referral program$100 worth of SG
SocialGood referral program

Share your invite code. When your referral registers with it and purchases a certain amount, you both receive $100 worth of SG. The bonus varies from time to time, so it might be different by the time you read this.

SG stakingUp to 15%
SG staking on SocialGood

You lock your SG for a set period to earn up to 15% of the amount you staked. You cannot withdraw or add any amount until the staking period is over.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on your shopping habits and how good you are at getting referrals. The cashback rates are quite high, but the number of stores depends on your country.

What matters more is whether you can get your SG out. With a 30% withdrawal fee, a paid activation and many reports of withdrawals that do not go through, you should not count on earning anything you can use. If you are looking to earn some extra cash here and now, use other cashback apps instead.

Payout method and fees

MethodMinimumFee
SG to an external crypto wallet that supports SGNo threshold30%

SocialGood pays only in SG. There is no threshold, but readers report extra requirements before they can withdraw, and that withdrawals take months or do not go through at all.

  1. Yep, I started out with free 700 then got referrals for them and play spins every day now I got over 500,000 in crypto no lose all wins

  2. I wasn’t willing to spend any money on the app until I confirmed it. I have over 23,000 in withdrawable sg and I wondered how that all worked. I read it etc but I’m not paying 30 dollars to verify myself. That seemed dumb to me. But at is doing good. Sucks you can’t withdraw and with these stories I’m not going to try. I’ve reached out to support to no avail. Guess this is my sign. I’ve got over 6million just sitting there. And it’s not going anywhere. More waiting to be approved. Like billions more. And it’s gone stay there.

  3. I first signed up with SG AUG 2023. Friend knew I was into crypto and signed up with his referral. Forgot about the account. Signed back in when I saw 100k of SG was in my account. 1x gift and referral bonus. Early January 2023. They had “Home Depot” as one of the stores and I’m a contractor. Every time i would meet a requirement to withdraw I was not able to. I referred 5 people in the first 6 weeks of actively using the app. All my referrals made the required purchases Feb 28 2024 All my shopping trips from Jan to Feb as well as all my referral rewards took over 4 months to be approved and rewards credited. I was never allowed to and still not able to withdrawal any amount of SG ever I have been verified premium member still not able to withdraw from either contribute and referral methods. I have not be credited for my last shopping trip using app Feb 28 2024 and 2 referral rewards pending from January. I have submitted 10 inquiries with all the necessary proof asked of me. I now have over 300k of approved SG. Over 4k in staked rewards. I tried my luck with the $145 30 spins twice. And the only time i have been allowed to withdraw anything from the app to my wallet was $77 worth of instant withdraw SG I got from 60+ spins I spent $300 on to try to get a fraction of approved SG into my ownership. I just recently injured myself pretty bad out of work and falling behind. Seeing the thousands in assets I can’t touch is becoming increasingly aggravating. I’d might sell the verified platinum status account with all the SG if there’s a buyer. Even submitted offer to Social good I’d take 25% of accounts current worth. Never got any answers or help from 10+ requests. “Patent BUY BACK SYSTEM” I’m on a mission to find out.

  4. I can tell you that I’ve been using the SocialGood app since 2021 and only have good things to say….until the restrictions on the withdrawals were introduced.

I give you 1 example. Bought an indoor bike for me and my wife for 3000$ in 2021. At the time they were giving 50% of your purchases back in SG. Got it in my wallet and right after i transferred it all to Bitmart. Sold the SG for 1600$ at a rate of 0.95$ per token! Very happy customer.

Now, fast forward to 2023 and suddenly the withdrawal process has completely change.

Do I agree with it? No, since the wallet isn’t really mine is it? I don’t control it, so the coins aren’t really mine right?

Do I understand why they did it? Yes. It would be unsustainable to allow everyone to withdraw 100% of the coins all the time as the price would plummet (even more).

My approach for SocialGood is very simple. I only buy things that I would normally buy in regular stores (amazon, ebay, etc). By doing so I accumulate SG tokens instead of getting nothing from those companies. I could easily go to one of the exchanges and spend some dollars to acquire the SG token, but this way I accumulate SG without spending a dime.

If it works out, great! Free cash. If it doesn’t, no problem as I only bought things that I needed anyway.

People complaining about their ways, about the long process to approve the tokens, about the withdrawal rules, etc….stop nagging! Nothing out there gives you a fraction of what these guys are offering.

Will it work again as it did in 2021? Maybe. I do hope so. If not, I won’t be losing my sleep over it.

    Cheers,
    Peter

  5. The withdrawal process here is a red flag. There are many requirements. 1st, you need to have approved SG. 2nd, you have to be a verified member (which is include to buy 200SG). 3rd, you need to have recent shopping ($50 worth or more) within the past 30 days. But the problem here, they will took you so long to approve your shopping gift. That is once expired, you will need to purchase or buy $50 or more on the stores.

    • I’ve generated USD14,600 as I was saving for a new top end laptop and a phone upgrade.

I tried to withdraw USD8,000 but the app told me I could ONLY withdraw USD0.33… yes 33 cents!

What a scam! They advertise hat in eleven years with minimal SG Coin appreciation you’ll have well over USD1.1MILLION’. If you can only withdraw such a minuscule sum, even if it’s scaled to ‘earned’ funds then you might MIGHT have a million ( for whatever that’s worth in eleven years!?) that you can’t access!

Avoid this legal loophole scam completely.

      Stung and pissed!

  6. You don’t have to buy $200. worth of SG. You have to buy 200 SG. With the price of SG hoovering around .05 cents it’s really not very much at all to activate your membership. Also, I can absolutely relate to being offended by the 30% for cashing out some of your SG, but they are trying desperately to get the price of SG to grow and if everyone continues cashing out it will never grow. So I think they made this drastic move in a desperate attempt to get the price of SG to go up. If everyone would just think of SG in long term savings I think you would definitely see the value in what they are trying to do. Hang in there.

  8. This is a scam app, why are you helping them scam more people, they took my money for membership even admit to having it but will not give me membership or the tokens I paid for, so again why are you helping them scam more people, you should be fucking ashamed of yourself

  9. First of all, the membership isn’t free. The video specifically says you have to pay $200 to activate the membership. Wasn’t the whole purpose of social good to help even out the wealth gap? I remember watching a video to that effect back when I signed up. Now they require everyone to pay $200 of their own money just to access the SG they already have (I already have 2000+ SG). That’s completely ridiculous IMO since crypto isn’t worth squat at the moment and who knows if SG will actually be worth anything (with this current scam I’m thinking not). I think it’s very bad business to change the rules (by requiring direct purchase of SG) after I’ve already purchased things in the past to get SG crypto. I’m very disappointed in this company. My only hypothesis is that they know they have no future and so they are trying to trick people into buying SG in order to artificially inflate the worth of SG.

      • And also you have to pay for membership then pay for withdrawal and as the app clearly says then you have to wait till they fell like sending it to you and that’s if they even do, so again why are you helping them scam more people

        • I am not helping them at all. I do not give them a very high rating and even suggest using other options.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences, and I am actually planning to update the review asap and include more info as the app has gotten worse and worse since I first joined it. I agree that they now have introduced a lot of extra requirements that make it a very poor option, and I will make this clear when I update the review.

    • You have to buy 200 coins. Not $200 worth. If you use polygon, it’s pennies in gas fees. SG is sitting at around $0.04 right now, so a membership is around 8 bucks…

  10. Part of a good cashback involves the ability to liquidate a balance and receive the actual cashback. Not only is the 30% withdrawal fee outrageous, they limit the amount you can wirhdraw to $50 US per month. Withdraw $50,they seize 30%. Repeat this cumbersome method over and over until you wind up with a small fraction of that alleged cashback.

This site is a total scam,I made the $30 purchase never got the 100% crypto back, I had over $500 in my assets waiting to be approved next day I had a total of $7 in my account, everything got rejected!!! I did everything by the rules and still got rejected, Its just a shopping scam, plain and simple, a few people get what they shopped for just to keep the site legit, but like 80% get screwed!

  12. Scam! See this user’s experience on Reddit.

“I’ve tried it. I have SG tokens that are “Pending,” they say it takes a few months. As far as I can tell, this could be a scam, or it could be perfectly legitimate. It could be a way for them to try and add a price to their token, then sell some of it for a profit later.
I haven’t been able to withdraw yet, but if I do I’ll try to update this comment if I remember. UPDATE: I’ve contacted SocialGood support. Ghosted for the past 2 weeks. I was given a notification saying my SG was approved, (It wasn’t) And the referral bonuses keep increasing on their site. I’m calling it right now and saying that it was a scam.”

  13. Thus us the WORST site ever. I buy on ebay ALL the time. Problem is that 2 out of EVERY 3 transaction get REJECTED. It seems the lower amount ones get credit but the higher amounts get rejected. It allbyhe SAME products as I buy sports cards from ebay. Also I’ve had approved SG for a week now and I haven’t gotten ANYTHING for staking. Says every 6 hours and it been 7 days. So should be 28 staking at 15%. Even with the 2 hundred and something that DID get approved that’s alot of money. From what I can see this site is a TOTAL SCAM. I have written numerous timevwit NO REPLY. They don’t even tell me WHY my transactions got denied. Example #1 I bought 2 cases of toploaders 1 for $80 and 1 for $60 only got credit for the $60 and the $80 got rejected. Example #2 won 4 auctions from same seller total $23.13 git rejected, won 5 Uctions same seller total $97 rejected, won 4 items total $9.71 approved. All these transactions were in the same day. So why were some approved? Why were the others rejected? I bid, and paid the SAME EXACT way on EVERY one. SOCIAL GOOD IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM.
