I tested the Pogo app to see if earning from your purchases, receipts and surveys is worth it. It is legit and takes little effort, but the rewards are low and it is US only. Below is what I found, and which apps I recommend instead.
Legit passive rewards app, but the rewards are low
Points for card purchases, email receipts and surveys. PayPal or Venmo from $3. US only.

The short answer
Pogo is a legit rewards app. You earn points passively when you shop with a linked credit or debit card and when receipts land in a linked email inbox, plus points for surveys and referrals.
But the earning potential is quite low, so it takes a lot of time to reach the payout threshold. It is only available in the US, and you have to link your card and email to earn passively. Think of what you earn as a small bonus.
- The app is user-friendly, with no pop-up ads
- Offers payment via PayPal and Venmo
- Offers passive earning
- Two-step login for extra security
- Low rewards
- Only available in the US
- Email receipts are capped at 10 points per email address per week
- You must link your card and email, and give your mobile number
My experience with Pogo
I installed Pogo and looked at how you link your card and email, the surveys, the referral program and the rewards. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is Pogo legit and safe?
Yes, Pogo is legit: you really earn rewards from it. But that does not automatically mean it is worth using. Here is what you should know.
- You link your card and email
To earn passively, you link a credit or debit card and up to three email addresses, so Pogo can see your purchases and receipts. Turn on the two-step login to protect that information.
- Very low rewards
Purchases earn very few points, and email receipts are capped at 10 points per email address per week. It takes a lot of time to reach the payout threshold.
- You will not qualify for every survey
Surveys come from partner providers. You go through a qualifying process first, and if you fail, you move on to the next one.
- US only, and a phone number is required
Pogo only works in the US. You must give your mobile number to sign up; there is no way around it.
My takePogo is not a bad app, in my opinion. However, it’s not that great, either. It has a low earning potential, so you will have to be patient if you want to earn a decent amount from it. The good thing is that you can just set it up and collect the rewards once in a while.
How you earn on Pogo
There are 4 ways to earn. Surveys pay the most; shopping and receipts are passive. Tap one to read more.
Shopping with a linked cardPassive, very low
Link your credit or debit card to your Pogo account. Every purchase you make with it shows up in the app, wherever you shop. Click “Claim” to get the points for that purchase.
It is a simple process, but you won’t earn a lot from it.
Email receiptsMax 10 points a week
Link your email address, and Pogo detects the receipts you receive there from online shopping. You can link up to three email addresses, but you can only earn 10 points per email address per week.
Paid surveysPays the most
Go to the Surveys section. There are a decent number of surveys at any time, from partner survey providers. Each one shows its points and how long it takes.
You go through a qualifying process first. If you qualify and finish the survey, you get the points promised. Surveys pay more than the other ways to earn on Pogo, but you will not always qualify.
Referral program250 points each
Share your referral code. Your referral enters it when they sign up. Once they earn 3,000 points in the app, you both get 250 points.
How much can you make?
The earning potential of Pogo is quite low. At least, that’s what I observed while testing it. It takes a lot of time before you reach the payout threshold.
Shopping pays very few points, and email receipts are capped. But it takes very little effort, so think of what you earn as a bonus.

What sucks is only being able to play one personal badge per week. I won’t be renewing my subscription. I feel duped.
