The short answer

InboxDollars is legit. It pays, and it has paid me. It has been around since 2000 and is now owned by Prodege, the company behind Swagbucks. You get a $5 joining bonus and many ways to earn: surveys, games, paid emails, offers, receipts and more.

But only people in the US who are at least 18 can join. Your first cashout needs $15, after that $10. The rules on duplicate accounts are strict, and it will not make you rich.

What I like
  • Great $5 sign-up bonus
  • Free to join
  • Many ways to earn
  • You can get paid in cash: PayPal or a prepaid Visa
  • Has a user-friendly mobile app
  • 24/7 live chat support
What I don’t like
  • Higher payout threshold for the first payout: $15
  • Only available in the US
  • Not a huge number of surveys
  • Strict rules: one account per person, address and household

Is InboxDollars legit and safe?

Yes, InboxDollars is definitely not a scam. It pays its members and has done so for many years. But that does not mean it is the best option for you. Here is what you should know.

  • Only for the US

InboxDollars used to be open to other countries. Now you can only sign up if you live in the US and are at least 18.

  • One account per household

You may only create one account. No more than one account is allowed per address, household or computer. If you break this rule, all accounts linked to that mailing address are terminated, and you lose your earnings.

  • Never use a VPN or someone else’s number

InboxDollars detects a VPN and blocks you. Verifying your account with someone else’s phone number is fraud and will get you banned.

  • The first cashout takes patience

You need $15 for your first cashout. The $5 joining bonus takes you a third of the way, and after the first payout the minimum drops to $10.

  • Scratch & Win is only a chance

The Scratch & Win game can pay up to $100, but there are no guarantees. It is a nice extra, not something to count on.

My takeInboxDollars is definitely a legit site you can use to earn some extra money in your free time. It has gone through several updates that have made it a better site than when I first started testing it, and it is great to see how they have listened to feedback. Still, go into it with the right expectations: it will not make you rich or give you a full-time income. But InboxDollars does work, and it will pay you.

How you earn on InboxDollars

There are 10 ways to earn. Combine several of them to get the most out of the site. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysShown up front
Paid surveys on InboxDollars

There is not a huge number of surveys on InboxDollars, but you will find some. You see roughly how long each survey takes and what it pays right away, so you can plan.

You will not qualify for every survey, so it can take patience. Combine surveys with the other earning methods to get enough out of the site.

Playing gamesCan be high
Games on InboxDollars

You can find card games, strategy, sports and word games, and get paid when you play. Some pay quite high rewards, but reaching the highest rewards takes a lot of time and effort. Read the conditions for each game before you start.

This is best if you like playing games anyway. If you only do it for the money, choose the game offers wisely.

Paid emailsUp to 4 a day
Confirm button in an InboxDollars paid email

You receive emails with promotional offers from InboxDollars partners. Click the Confirm button in the email to get the reward. You do not have to take the offer.

If you joined before 4/19/18, you still get cash for this. If you joined later, you get Scratch & Win progress for each confirmed PaidEmail. You get at most 4 a day, and if you are not active on the site, you might get none.

Winits codesA chance to win
Winits on InboxDollars

InboxDollars used to post promo codes on social media. Now they are called Winits. Enter the exact code in the member area for a chance to win a prize, such as a cash credit or Scratch & Win progress.

The codes are posted randomly during the week and expire, so check InboxDollars’ social media regularly.

Shopping and coupons$0.10 per coupon used
Printable coupons on InboxDollars

Print coupons and take them to the store for a discount. You also get $0.10 every time you redeem a coupon, and $0.01 for printing one, for up to 100 coupons a day.

You can also get cashback when you shop online at hundreds of merchants, such as Walmart, Target and Old Navy.

Free contestsLuck only
Contests on InboxDollars

InboxDollars regularly runs free contests on its social media channels. Many people take part, so the chance of winning is small, but it can be worth a shot once in a while.

Scratch & WinUp to $100
InboxDollars Scratch & Win progress bar

Every time you earn, a progress bar moves towards a scratch card. There are 3 milestones: $, $$ and $$$. Scratch at $ for a chance to win $10, or wait for a chance to win up to $100. Three of the same amounts wins that amount.

The bar fills by random amounts, and the activity needed can change. There are no guarantees, but it is a nice extra chance for things you do anyway.

Paid offersSet reward per offer
Paid offers on InboxDollars

Paid offers are short tasks with a set reward. There are quite a lot, and many seem to be exclusive to InboxDollars. Read the instructions of each offer before you start.

Referral program$3 bonus + 10%
InboxDollars referral program

Share your referral link. You get a $3 bonus when your referral earns $3 in their first month, and a 10% commission on what your referrals earn.

Magic ReceiptsPer item bought
InboxDollars Magic Receipts

Add the items you plan to buy to “My List”, buy them in a participating store, and upload a clear photo of the receipt through the app or website. Mark which items you bought.

The receipt must show the purchase date, the store name or logo, the total and all offers you claim. Only receipts from the past 14 days are accepted, and the offers must still be live. You can submit up to 10 receipts a week for non-premium offers; premium offers, marked with a star, show their own limit.

It is worth it when you see deals you really want. InboxDollars updates the deals often.

    • Thanks Juan.

I was actually aware that they introduced PayPal in 2019 and have included that info in other articles I have written. But had not gotten to update it here on the main review yet so thank you very much for reminding me.

      I will update it asap.

      Thanks

  1. okay thank you, you answered my question exactly…phew, your the best.
i have one more question. i know that survey junkie will payout immediately on PP, and so will Qwee. Mysurvey used to be 24hours but changed…Do you know any other sites that payout PP the same time you withdrawl like these 2????

    • You are welcome Darlene.

Superpay.me and Rewarding Ways pay out within a few hours once you have verified your identity, and also offers instant PayPal. I usually also get my money within 24 hours on PrizeRebel – sometimes even within a few hours.

These sites also have low payout threshold, so you can get your money out already when you have earned $1 on the first two sites, and $5 on PrizeRebel.

  2. this comment is about fushion cash…malmare bytes came up on the site and said that is was a fraud, anotherwords, a virus or malware hiding as a survey site i guess. another thing i been experiencing since i changed computers is the browser will be secure on the site im in, but once it goes to another site for the survey, its not secure anymore, have you ever heard of this?

    Reply
    • Hi Darlene,

Sounds like it might not be an issue with Fusion Cash, but some kind of sneaky trick or malware. Sometimes pop-ups come up with fake warnings on certain sites to get you to click their ad. But better to be safe to make sure to have antivirus on your computer.

About sites not being secure in your browser: it happens for some sites. It depends if they have what is called a SSL certificate on their website. If not, it will not be shown as secure. So you can for example be one a survey site that has this and shows secure, but then click a survey where you will be taken to a third party provider to take it, and that site might not have it and then not say it is secure.

Ideally all survey websites should have SSL and be secure, but not all have it yet. So at the moment I would not worry too much about it. But if a security warning comes up, I would not enter the site.

      Hope this helps.

      Mikael
