Methinks App Review 2026: Is It Legit? My Test and Verdict

Methinks Rating

I would say Methinks is a decent app, but mainly if you live in Canada or the US. While it is available globally, it is only really profitable if you live in the countries mentioned because these regions have more projects available.

I tested the Methinks app, which pays you for market research projects. It is legit, pays rather well and has no payout threshold, but most projects are for people in Canada and the US. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend if you live elsewhere.

The short answer

Methinks is a legit app that pays you for market research projects. It pays rather well per project, and there is no payout threshold: you get paid via PayPal or Amazon gift cards for every project you complete.

But it has limited earning opportunities, and most projects are for people who live in Canada and the US. If you live somewhere else, you will struggle to earn from it, and you are better off joining sites that have opportunities globally.

What I like
  • Offers a simple way to earn
  • Pays rather well
  • No payout threshold
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Most projects are for Canada and the US
  • Building your profile will take time, and you won’t get paid for it

My experience with Methinks

I tested the Methinks app myself and compared it with the hundreds of other online earning methods I have tested. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is Methinks legit and safe?

Yes, Methinks is legit: it pays you when you complete a project. But that does not make it a good fit for everyone. Here is what you should know before you join.

  • Most projects are for Canada and the US

Methinks is available globally, but most projects are for people who live in Canada and the US. Elsewhere, you will find projects for your region only now and then.

  • Limited earning opportunities

Methinks pays a decent amount per project, but there are few projects. If there are none in your region, you will not earn a lot.

  • You have to apply and wait

You apply for each project and wait for approval before you can start. Methinks says it usually takes 24 to 48 hours; for me, it never took more than 24 hours.

  • Unpaid profile building

Your profile has 8 sections, and you are not paid for filling them in. You need the Core Profile before you can apply for projects. Completing all sections gives you a higher chance of project offers.

  • Mobile only

You can only work on projects in the app. The web dashboard only shows the status of your projects and payments.

My takeOverall, Methinks is a decent app, but mainly if you live in Canada or the US. It is available globally, but it is only really profitable there, because those regions have more projects. If you live somewhere else, you will struggle to earn from it, and you are better off joining apps or sites that have opportunities available globally.

Not in Canada or the US? These sites have earning opportunities wherever you live.

How you earn on Methinks

There are 2 ways to earn. Projects make up most of the money. Tap one to read more.

Paid projectsShown per project
Paid projects on Methinks

First, build your Methinks profile. There are 8 sections, but the Core Profile is the most important. Once it is complete, you can apply for projects. If you are in a hurry, complete it first and do the other sections later.

Press Paid Projects at the bottom of the app to see what is available. Each project shows how much it pays, how you get paid and which region it is for. Do not apply if you are not in that region.

Projects are often surveys, but you apply for them and wait for approval before you can answer them. Methinks notifies you by push notification when you are accepted. There are also online interviews, website or app tests, and multi-day studies. The longer and more involved a project is, the more it pays.

If the company likes your work, you may get invited for follow-up opportunities, like an online interview. From what I observed, these usually pay more than the original project, so always do your best.

Referral programA bonus for you and your friend

Share your referral code. Your friend installs the app, signs up, and enters your code under “Invitation Code” in the menu at the top left. When they complete a project, you both receive a bonus worth 50% of the pay for their first gig.

It is a fair condition, and it is great that you both get a bonus. But it is a one-time bonus, not a continuous commission, so the earning potential is limited.

How much can you make?

It depends mostly on how often you can complete a project. Methinks pays a decent amount for every project, so the number of projects is what limits your earnings.

This is where Methinks is lacking. There are few projects, and most of them are for people in Canada and the US. Elsewhere, you will find projects for your region only now and then.

To get more project offers, fill out all eight sections of your profile. But overall, the earning potential is not that good, even though Methinks pays well.

How you get paid

MethodMinimumSpeed
PayPalNoneCredited within a week at most, then received within 24 hours
Amazon gift cardNoneCredited within a week at most, then received within 24 hours

Each project has a set payment method. It is usually PayPal, but some projects pay in Amazon gift cards. There is no payout threshold, so you get your earnings quickly.

    • I explain that in the review above. If you do not see it in the app store, it is because it is not available in your country.
