Loot.tv Review: Worth It or Not? (Not For Everyone)

Loot.tv Rating

The original site of Loot.tv has shut down. However, a new website has popped up as a replacement and it is called Cheddar.tv, which has more or less the same features as the original site.

Loot.tv has shut down

The short answer

Loot.tv has shut down. The original site is gone, so you can no longer join or earn there. A replacement site called Cheddar.tv went up with the same features.

When it was running, Loot.tv was legit: it really paid you for watching videos. But you were paid for the ads in the videos, so the rewards were very low, and you could only withdraw through a partner site.

What I like
  • An interesting way to earn rewards
  • The site was optimized for mobile use
  • You could leave the videos running to earn a bit passively
What I don’t like
  • Loot.tv has shut down
  • Low rewards
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • You had to join another site to withdraw your earnings
  • Many countries could not earn from videos

My experience with Loot.tv

I tested Loot.tv myself: I watched videos, looked at the paid offers, connected it to a partner site to withdraw, and contacted support a few times. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Loot.tv legit and safe?

Loot.tv has shut down, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it really paid you to watch videos. These were the catches.

  • It has shut down

The original Loot.tv site has shut down. A replacement site called Cheddar.tv went up with the same features.

  • Very low rewards

You were paid for the ads in the videos, not the videos. Some videos had no ads, so you earned nothing from them, and most videos were at least 2 minutes long.

  • Withdrawing took an extra site

Loot.tv had no payment methods of its own. You had to join a partner site and connect it, and many partner sites were not integrated with Loot.tv, in my experience.

  • Support was hit or miss

I contacted support a few times and was not impressed by the way they communicate. Whether you got decent support seemed a bit random.

My takeLoot.tv has shut down, so it is no longer an option. Even when it was running, it was a nice way to burn some time with interesting videos rather than a way to earn a decent amount. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on Loot.tv

There were two ways to earn points. Tap each one to read more.

Watching videos0.2 to 2.5 points per video and ad
Watching videos on Loot.tv

This was the main way to earn. You disabled your browser’s ad blocker (and anti-virus if needed) and started a video. You were really paid for the ads shown at the beginning, middle or end of a video.

Some videos had no ads, so you earned nothing from them. I had that a few times when I tested it. How many videos with ads you got depended on your country.

In some countries, you first had to earn 10 Loot.tv points from the paid offers before you could earn from videos. You could leave the videos running, and the next one started by itself.

Paid offersSet per offer
Loot.tv paid offers

Paid offers were short tasks: surveys and quizzes, videos, games, mobile apps and sign-ups for websites. Each offer showed its conditions and its reward. One example was joining GrabPoints and earning 1,000 points there.

The rewards were pretty decent, but there were not many offers compared to other GPT sites.

How much could you make?

Not a lot. Loot.tv split its countries into three tiers. In tier 1, you earned 2.5 points per video and ad you viewed, in tier 2 only 1 point, and in tier 3 (India) only 0.2 points.

With most videos at least 2 minutes long, the time-to-money ratio was very bad, and it took a lot of time just to earn $1. The only real value was the videos themselves, some of which were interesting.

How Loot.tv paid

Loot.tv did not have payment methods of its own. You could only use your points on a partner site that you connected to your Loot.tv account.

Partner siteMinimumNotes
TimeBucksSet by TimeBucksOne of the partner sites
Reward XPSet by Reward XPThe partner site I was able to connect

The conversion rate of your points and the payout threshold depended on the partner site. Most of them had low payout thresholds, but many partner sites on the list were not integrated with Loot.tv, in my experience. For more sites with a low payout threshold, see the fastest paying sites.

Who could earn on Loot.tv?

You could join from all countries, but you could only earn from videos in these 46: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Romania, Portugal, Poland, Malta, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Greece, France, Finland, Spain, Estonia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria, India, Ukraine, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombia, Malaysia, Thailand, Ecuador, Peru, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines.

You signed up with a form and confirmed your email. There was no app, but the site was optimized for mobile, so you could watch on your phone, best on WiFi.

For help, there was a FAQ page and email support at support@lootably.com. There was no contact form, and the support address was hidden in the “More Points” section.

Loot.tv is not Lootably2 comments

Loot.tv and Lootably are two different sites.

“This actually didnt work for me, even though I come from brazil not a single add poped up and at the end of the video I still remained with 0 points”

Reader, December 2021
Mikael: As explained in the review above, even though you can potentially earn from your country, it does not mean there will always be ads available. So sometimes there might be long periods without many (or any) ads depending on your country.

“I signed up to Loot Tv today, I click on video , but they will not show.”

Reader, December 2021
Mikael: It might because of your browser. I would suggest trying a different one like Chrome or Firefox. If it still does not work, try contacting their support.

“Can it be run on more than one computer at the same ip address?”

Reader, January 2022
Mikael: No. You can only use it with one account at the time.
