Hive Micro Review 2026: Is It Legit? Pros, Cons and My Verdict

Hive Micro Rating

If you like doing data entry tasks, Hive Micro isn’t a bad site, in my opinion. It has plenty of tasks but you need to be aware that it will take a lot of effort to earn here as the rewards are quite low per task.

I tested Hive Micro to see if its small data entry jobs are worth your time. It is legit, but the rewards are low and you need a lot of tasks to earn them. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Personally Tested Last tested

Legit, but low rewards for a lot of repetitive work

Simple AI training jobs from anywhere, paid automatically to PayPal or Bitcoin. You need hundreds or thousands of tasks to earn a job’s reward.

Good for you ifYou really like simple, repetitive data entry work and want a secondary site with plenty of time to invest.
Skip it ifYou want a primary way to earn, or you do not want to risk a ban when your accuracy drops.

The short answer

Hive Micro is legit. It is a micro-job site, also called Hive Work, that pays you for simple jobs. Most of them are AI training tasks, like categorizing images and videos.

But the rewards are low, and most jobs ask you to do hundreds or thousands of tasks before you get the amount in the job offer. You must keep a 95% accuracy rate, or you are banned. There are simply better options out there if you want to earn extra cash online.

What I like
  • Available globally
  • Has a mobile app you can use
  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • Processes payment automatically when you reach the threshold
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Low rewards
  • Jobs take quite a bit of time to complete
  • You have to do unpaid tests before you can start earning
  • A ban for low accuracy can cost you your earnings

My experience with Hive Micro

I signed up for Hive Micro, set up my profile and looked at the jobs and the qualification tests. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Hive Micro legit and safe?

Yes, Hive Micro is legit and not a fake scam, as some data entry platforms are. It pays you once you complete a job. But that does not make it the right opportunity for you. Here is what you should know.

  • Low accuracy gets you banned

You must keep a 95% accuracy rate. Below that, you are temporarily banned from the job you are working on. If your accuracy keeps falling below 95%, your account is banned for good, and any previous earnings are lost. Work slowly but surely.

  • The pay per task is very low

A job can show a decent amount, but you often have to do hundreds, if not thousands, of tasks before you get it. One job I looked at paid $0.45 for 1,000 tasks.

  • Unpaid qualification tests

Before you can do a job, you have to unlock it by passing a qualification test. You are not paid for the test.

  • Every job has a timer

If you do not complete the job before the timer expires, you do not earn anything. And if you rush, you risk errors that do not get paid.

  • Some jobs are hard on a phone

The app is easy to use, but some tasks need an accuracy that is difficult on mobile. Those are a lot easier on a computer.

My takeHive Micro isn’t a bad site, in my opinion. However, it’s not that good either. The truth is, there are simply better options out there if you want to earn extra cash online. That’s because they don’t pay that well, and the jobs will require a huge number of repetitions to complete, which can get quite boring in the long run.

Hive Micro pays very little for your time. The top sites in your country give you better ways to earn.

How you earn on Hive Micro

There is only one way to earn: small jobs, mostly data entry and AI training tasks.

Hive Micro jobsUsually around $0.2 to $2 per job
Hive Micro jobs and qualification tests

Log in to the website or the app and complete your demographic profile, so Hive Micro knows which jobs to offer you. Then click “Jobs” to see all the jobs you can do.

To unlock a job, you take its qualification test and pass it. Read the instructions carefully before you start. Most jobs ask you to categorize images and videos, the most common type of job by far. They help train AI by solving easy jobs that need human intelligence.

The jobs are fairly simple, but take your time and stay accurate: you must keep a 95% accuracy rate. Every job has a fixed time frame, and you only earn if you finish before the timer expires.

How much can you make?

It depends on how well each job pays and how much time you spend on it. Usually, a job lets you earn around $0.2 to $2. Other jobs offer more.

But you have to do hundreds, if not thousands, of tasks before you get the amount in the job offer. In one job I looked at, you earn $0.45 once you have completed 1,000 tasks. The tasks are easy, but that makes the time-to-money ratio quite low. And you cannot rush, because errors do not get paid.

Overall, the earning potential is quite low compared to other online rewards sites. I would only recommend it as a secondary site if you have plenty of time and really like this type of work.

Payout methods and minimum

MethodMinimumSchedule
PayPal$10Automatically every Tuesday, 12:00 PM GMT
Bitcoin$10Automatically every Tuesday, 12:00 PM GMT

You choose PayPal or Bitcoin before you start working on jobs. Hive Micro pays you automatically once you reach the threshold. If you do not reach it in a week, you wait until the next Tuesday you do.

I like that you do not have to request your payment, and that it offers PayPal. Use a verified PayPal account, or you risk problems when you withdraw. For more sites with this method, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

How to sign up for Hive Micro

Fill out the registration form, or sign up with your Facebook account. You must be at least 18 years old. Then read and agree to the terms of service, and sign the contract that confirms you agree to be a Hive Micro worker.

Hive Micro sends a verification email. Click the link to complete the registration. Then log in on the website or in the app, set up your profile and take the qualification tests.

The app is called Hive Work, so search for Hive Work in the Android or iOS app store. You log in with the same details as on the website.

What 20 readers told me

This review has 20 comments since 2021: 10 from readers and 10 replies from me. These are the three things readers ask about most.

Withdrawals to PayPal3 comments

Readers asked how withdrawals work and reported a payout that had not arrived. Use a verified PayPal account. For account questions, contact Hive Micro directly: this is a review site, not Hive Micro.

Bans2 comments

Readers were banned while working on paid tasks. If you were banned for breaking the terms, a new account will likely be banned too.

How to join and do the tasks2 comments

Readers asked how to sign up and how to complete the tasks. Hive Micro gives the instructions for each task inside the platform.

“I’ve tried to pass their qualification on multiple tasks, but the thing that annoys me is the fact that you get banned no time soon while you’re working on the paid tasks…”

Reader, April 2024
Mikael: Thanks for sharing your experiences.

“if I’ve been banned from my account and I open another one, can I use the same PayPal account and bitcoin address that I used before?”

Reader, October 2025
Mikael: They will likely ban you again if you have already been banned for breaking their terms. It is better to learn why and then join other sites and not break their terms in the future.

“Can I withdraw money from PayPal without a bank link?”

Reader, March 2025
Mikael: It is best to have your PayPal account verified. If not, you risk getting problems when withdrawing.

    • I have a lot of knowledge about the topic as I have been using these earning platforms for years and love to share my experiences about them. And then I have written a lot of articles now, so have a lot pf practice. But cannot say exactly how long an article takes as that varies depending on the article, and I also spend a lot of time testing the platforms before writing.
