EasyShift has closed
The EasyShift app has closed and is no longer a way to earn. You cannot join or earn on it now. I keep my review below as a record. The gig apps I would pick instead are further down.
EasyShift was an app that paid you for simple jobs at local stores. It has now closed. I looked at it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which apps I would pick instead.
EasyShift has closed
EasyShift has closed, so you can no longer earn on it. When it was running, it was legit and paid through PayPal with no threshold, but the earning opportunities were limited.

The short answer
EasyShift has closed. The app is no longer a way to earn, and you can no longer join it.
When it was running, it was legit. It really paid you for simple jobs at local stores, through PayPal and with no payout threshold. But the earning opportunities were limited, especially when you first joined, and it was only available in the US and the UK.

My experience with EasyShift
I looked at the EasyShift app myself: the shifts, how you reserve them, the ranks and the support page. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was EasyShift legit and safe?
EasyShift has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it really paid you for the jobs you did. These were the catches.
- It has closed
The EasyShift app is no longer a way to earn.
- Limited shifts, and competition for them
How much you could earn depended on where you lived. You competed with other Shifters for the available shifts, and in a city with few shifts, the earning potential was much lower.
- You had to work your way up
As a Rookie, you could only reserve one shift at a time. You had to complete shifts and rank up before you could reserve more, up to 10 at a time at the highest rank.
- Unfinished shifts could get you banned
Reserving shifts you did not complete too often could get your account banned, and you would then lose any pending payments.
- Phone only, and you had to travel
Location-based shifts meant going to a store and taking photos. You also had to allow the app to see your location.
My takeEasyShift has closed, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it was a decent secondary app if you were eligible, not better or worse than other apps like it. See the alternatives below.
How you earned on EasyShift
The only way to earn was by doing shifts, and there were two types. Tap one to read more.
Location-based shiftsAround $4 to $20
You went to a specific store and completed tasks there, such as taking photos of categories, surveys, price checks and promotion checks.
You could see the available shifts in map or list mode. A shift marked unavailable meant someone else was already working on it. Each shift showed the instructions, the requirements, the deadline and the reward.
After you reserved a shift, you usually had 12 hours or less to complete it. If the campaign was about to expire, that date came first. After EasyShift reviewed your work, you got the promised amount and some points.
Anywhere shiftsOptional
Anywhere shifts showed up in your Reserved Shifts list by themselves and were optional. They were generally opinion-based surveys to help improve EasyShift.

How much could you make?
Each shift paid around $4 to $20, which I think was a relatively decent pay range. But how much you could make depended a lot on your location. In a city with lots of shifts and not many Shifters, you benefited the most.
The points you earned raised your rank. As a Rookie, you could reserve one shift at a time. At the highest rank, you could reserve 10 at a time, which made a big difference. So the earning potential got better the more shifts you completed, but it was quite limited when you first joined.
How EasyShift paid
Unlike many other apps, EasyShift had no payout threshold. When your work passed the review, you got paid for that shift.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | None | Typically in your PayPal account in about 48 hours, sometimes longer |
It was a good idea to set up your PayPal address in the app before you reserved any shifts.
