I tested EarnFM to see if sharing your unused internet bandwidth with it is worth it. It is legit and almost effortless, but the payout threshold is relatively high, and other passive income apps do the same job better. Below is what I found, and which apps I recommend instead.
Legit, but better passive income apps exist
Earn by sharing your unused internet bandwidth. Rates depend on your country, and you need $15 to cash out.

The short answer
EarnFM is legit. It really pays you for sharing your unused internet bandwidth, a lot like Honeygain. Once it is set up, you don’t have to do anything else.
But the payout threshold is relatively high at $15, and the rate per gigabyte depends on your country. It is not an option I recommend, because there are many better options. It can serve as a secondary app if the more popular passive income apps aren’t available where you live.
- Offers a passive form of earning
- Has a user-friendly app for Android and iOS
- Software for Windows, Mac and Linux
- PayPal, crypto and gift card payouts
- Relatively high payout threshold
- The app consumes your device’s battery a lot faster
- No breakdown of how much you earn per gigabyte
- Lower rates outside premium countries
My experience with EarnFM
I installed EarnFM’s software, connected it to share my unused bandwidth, and went through the payouts, the referral program and the Help Center. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is EarnFM legit and safe?
Yes, EarnFM is legit. It really pays you for sharing your unused internet bandwidth. But legit does not mean it is worth it. Here is what you should know.
- You need $15 to cash out
The threshold is relatively high, so it might take some time before you can withdraw your earnings. In a small country with low rates, it takes even longer.
- You don’t know the rate per gigabyte
EarnFM only says the rate depends on your location. Premium countries like the US, the UK and Canada earn more.
- The app drains your battery
The app runs in the background, so your device’s battery drains a lot faster.
- One public IP address, one income
You only earn from a unique public IP address. Installing the software on several devices on the same network does not earn you more.
My takeEarnFM is not a bad platform for earning. However, it’s not that good either. Its main drawback is its relatively high payout threshold. I do not have a referral code for it, because I only invite people to platforms I truly think are worth it, and there are many better options.
EarnFM has a $15 threshold. These passive income apps are better options.

There are 2 ways to earn. Sharing your bandwidth is the main one. Tap one to read more.
Sharing unused internet bandwidthPer gigabyte
Install EarnFM’s software on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, or the app on Android or iOS. Log in, then click Connect. The software shares your unused bandwidth, and you don’t have to do anything else.
You earn a certain amount for every gigabyte you share. The rate depends on your location. You only earn from a unique public IP address, so devices on the same network do not add up.
Referral program10% commission
Share your invite link. The person you invite gets a $5 joining bonus. You get a 10% commission every time they earn by sharing their bandwidth. There is no additional condition to meet.
How much can you make?
It depends on your location and on how many devices you run on different networks. In a country EarnFM considers premium, like the US, the UK or Canada, you earn more. In a small country, the rate is quite low, and it takes longer to hit the threshold.
The best way to earn more is to install the software on devices connected to different networks. Your mobile internet is a good example, especially if you have an unlimited plan.
The earning potential is not better than the top apps that offer the same opportunity.
Payout methods and minimum
| Method | Minimum |
|---|---|
| PayPal | $15 |
| Crypto: Litecoin or USDT | $15 |
| Gift cards: Starbucks or Amazon | $15 |
The payment system is straightforward, and the payout methods are convenient. You just have to be patient because of the high threshold. If you prefer a low threshold, see the fastest paying sites.

Who tested EarnFM for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with EarnFM, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
I’m curious, have you ever tested some of these apps that give commision for referrals? Do you get 10% of what *I* earn or do you get 10% of what I earn directly out of my earnings?
And where is your referral code good sir?
Yes, I have tested and used my referral programs. Your earning will NOT be affected by joining through any referral links. The commission is paid by the company that owns the platform. In fact, on some platforms you even get an extra bonus by joining through an invitation link.
As for EarnFM, I do not have a referral code as it is not as such an option I recommend as I think there are many better options. And I only invite people to platforms I truly think are worth it.
Hope this explains it and just ask if you have more questions.
