ClipClaps has closed
The ClipClaps app is no longer available on Google Play and the iOS App Store. Its website is still up, but the app download links no longer work, so you cannot join or earn on it now. I keep my review below as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.
ClipClaps was a mobile app that paid you for watching funny videos. It has now closed. I tested it every day for months and got paid once. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.
ClipClaps has closed
ClipClaps has closed, so you can no longer earn on it. When it was running, it paid my first PayPal payout, but after that the rewards were so low that I never reached the next threshold.

The short answer
ClipClaps has closed. The app is no longer on Google Play or the App Store, so you can no longer join or earn there.
When it was running, you could earn with it, and I got my first payout through PayPal. But the rewards were extremely low: I used it every day for 5 months and still did not reach the $10 threshold for the next payout. The support was terrible, and many members told me they no longer got paid. In my opinion, it was a complete waste of time if you wanted to earn.
- Fun and interesting ways to earn
- Paid through PayPal
- User-friendly app
- A very low threshold for your first withdrawal
- ClipClaps has closed
- Very low rewards
- A $10 threshold after the first withdrawal
- Terrible support
- Some members say they could no longer get paid
- Mobile only
My experience with ClipClaps
I tested ClipClaps every day for 5 months: I watched videos, voted, played the games, used the spin the wheel games, invited people and withdrew to PayPal. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was ClipClaps legit and safe?
ClipClaps has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, you could earn with it, and I got my first payout. These were the catches.
- It has closed
The app is no longer on Google Play or the App Store, and the download links on the website no longer work.
- Extremely low rewards
A normal treasure chest held around 100 to 500 Clapcoins, and you needed 100,000 for $1. After your first withdrawal, the threshold was $10, and I did not reach it in 5 months of daily use.
- Members reported no longer getting paid
I received a lot of feedback from members who said they used to get paid by ClipClaps but no longer did. Several readers report declined payouts here too. I could not confirm it myself.
- Terrible support
Every time I contacted support, it took 10-14 weeks to get an answer, and then it was only an automatic reply that my ticket had been closed.
My takeClipClaps has closed, so it is no longer an option. Even when it was running, it was a complete waste of time if your goal was to earn. If you just liked funny videos, it was entertaining, but then why not just use YouTube. See the alternatives below.
How you earned on ClipClaps
There were six ways to earn. Tap each one to read more.
Watching videosTreasure chests
This was the main way to earn. While you watched funny videos, a timer bar filled up toward your next treasure chest. The more videos you watched in a day, the longer you usually had to watch for the next one.
After a few chests, you usually got one every 4 minutes or so of video. You could watch up to 1 hour of videos per day.
Voting for videosSmaller chests, faster
After you had been an active member for at least a day, you could watch the newest videos and vote on whether they were funny. You got chests faster, but the rewards were not as high as for regular videos.
Playing gamesClapcoins
The app had a few games that paid Clapcoins when you met their requirement. The games were pretty fun, but most cost coins to play, so it was more like gambling.
Uploading videosCoins per view
You could submit your own videos. If ClipClaps featured one, you earned coins for every view it got. Judges rated the videos, so they had to be engaging, positive and fun to watch.
Spin the wheel$0.01 to $5
The Mega Spin gave you one spin a week, for $0.01 – $5 and a few other prizes. The Lucky Spin gave you 1 free spin every 5 hours, with $1 as the top prize.
It was not a reliable way to earn, more a bonus for being a member, but it did not take long.
Referral program and joining bonusDiamond chests
You got 3 diamond chests for each person you invited: one when they signed up, one when they logged in within 24 hours, and one when they logged in the second week after they registered. Diamond chests held more Clapcoins, raffle entries and even cash.
If you joined through an invitation, you got a diamond chest worth a minimum of $1 right away. But the referral rewards were way below what other referral programs pay.

How much could you make?
Very little. You needed 100,000 Clapcoins for $1, and a normal treasure chest held around 100 to 500. Getting your own videos featured paid faster, but it still took patience.
After my first payout, I wanted to see how long it took to reach the $10 threshold. I used ClipClaps every single day for 5 months, and I even earned quite a few diamond chests because people used my ClipClaps code. I still did not reach $10. Then the threshold suddenly changed, temporarily they said, but it stayed like that for 2 months before I gave up on ClipClaps. I explain it all in the second video above.
How ClipClaps paid
You converted your Clapcoins to cash at 100,000 Clapcoins for $1 and withdrew it through PayPal. Sometimes the redeem section had special offers with a better conversion rate.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal, first withdrawal | $0.1 | No withdrawal fee |
| PayPal, after that | $10 |
The very low first threshold let you check right away that you would get paid. Reaching the next one was the hard part. For sites that always have a low payout threshold, see the fastest paying sites.
Who could join, and how was support?
ClipClaps was mobile only, with an app for Android and iOS. It was available globally, and you signed up with your Facebook or Google account and gave your full name and birthdate. To get paid through PayPal, you needed to be at least 18.
The app had a support page that explained the basics well, and you could message support in the app. But every time I contacted them, it took 10-14 weeks to get an answer, and that answer was an automatic reply saying my ticket had been closed because they were too busy. It was one of the worst support answers I have ever received from any GPT site or app. They did reply on their Facebook page once in a while.
