Benjamin App Review – Legit or Scam? (Full Details Revealed)

Benjamin Rating

Benjamin is a decent GPT app, in my opinion. However, its main drawback is its high payout threshold. This is what prevents it from being a great app to earn from.

I tested the Benjamin app to see if it is worth your time. You can earn from its games, but the payout threshold is high, and several readers report problems with withdrawals. Below is what I found, and which apps I would pick first.

Personally Tested Last tested

Decent game rewards, but a high $25 cashout

Game rewards are decent, but the cashout is $25 and it is US only. Several readers report withdrawal problems since late 2025.

Good for you ifYou live in the US, you like playing mobile games, and you want an extra app next to a main one.
Skip it ifYou want a low payout threshold or a main app to earn from.

The short answer

Benjamin is a Get-Paid-To (GPT) app that rewards you for playing games, answering surveys and more. When I tested it, you could really earn rewards, and the games paid more than most similar apps.

But the payout threshold is a high $25. Since late 2025, several readers report withdrawals that did not arrive, partial payouts, or accounts flagged or disabled before payout. I think there are many better free earning apps.

What I like
  • A decent number of ways to earn
  • Games pay more than in most similar apps
  • Cash rewards through bank, PayPal or Venmo, and gift cards
What I don’t like
  • Several readers report withdrawal problems since late 2025
  • Some readers report accounts flagged or disabled before payout
  • High payout threshold: $25
  • Pop-up video ads while you use the app
  • Only available in the US, on mobile

My experience with Benjamin

I installed Benjamin and tried its games and other ways to earn. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Benjamin legit and safe?

When I tested it, you could really earn rewards from Benjamin. Since late 2025, several readers have told me about problems with withdrawals. Here is what you should know before you join.

  • Reader reports of stuck withdrawals

Benjamin paused withdrawals for updates until December 3, 2025. After that, readers told me they got only part of their payout, waited weeks or months, or still had money sitting in “withdraw status”. One reader said in October 2026 that hers has been stuck for more than a year.

  • Accounts flagged or disabled before payout

Readers report an account flagged for “suspicious activity” after a partial payout, and an account disabled before the reader could withdraw. They did not get it solved by emailing support.

  • Fees and charges inside the app

In October 2026, a reader said Benjamin changed its rules in September 2025 and charged fees to send winnings into a withdrawal queue. Another reader said the app asked her to pay for daily check-ins it said she had missed.

  • High payout threshold

You need $25 before you can withdraw. With per-minute game rewards that drop the longer you play, it takes a lot of time to get there.

  • Pop-up ads and US only

Video ads pop up while you use the app. You earn a small reward for them, but they can be annoying. Benjamin is only available in the US, and only on a phone.

My takeWhen I tested it, Benjamin was a decent GPT app with a high payout threshold. Several readers now also report withdrawal problems. In my opinion, there are many better free earning apps.

Want an app with a lower payout threshold? These apps are better options.

How you earn on Benjamin

There are 5 ways to earn. Playing games is the main one. Tap one to read more.

Playing gamesUp to $6 per game
Games in the Benjamin app

You earn per minute you play, or through achievements, such as reaching a certain level or completing a mission. Per-minute play is simpler, but you earn fewer rewards the longer you keep playing one game. Achievements take longer but pay better.

Always open the game from Benjamin’s menu, not from your phone’s menu. Otherwise Benjamin cannot track your playtime or achievements, and you earn nothing.

Paid surveys$1–$2 each
Paid surveys in the Benjamin app

When you log in, you see if there are surveys you can answer. You first go through a qualifying process. There are not a lot of surveys, so it is hard to earn from them regularly.

Video ads and daily login bonusSmall

Video ads pop up from time to time. Wait until the ad has finished to collect a small reward. You also watch an ad to claim the daily login bonus. It pays more than most other GPT sites for the same kind of task.

Receipt scanningCashback, gift cards, deals
Benjamin receipt scanning

Upload a clear photo of your receipt in the Receipt Scanning section. It must show the date, the store, the total and all the items. If everything is in order, you get cashback, gift cards or brand deals.

Referral program$6 each

Share your referral code. Once your referral has earned at least $6 in the app, you both get $6.

How much can you make?

When I tested it, you could usually earn up to $6 per game and $1 to $2 per survey. The $6 only applies to achievements. Per-minute play pays a lot less, and some achievements need a long play time.

So the time-to-money ratio is not great, and you need $25 before you can withdraw. Several readers also report withdrawal problems since late 2025.

Payout methods and minimum

MethodMinimumNote
Bank account, PayPal or Venmo$25Readers report payouts that were late, partial or stuck
Gift cards$25No verification process needed

Withdrawals were unavailable while Benjamin did updates until December 3, 2025. Since then, readers report partial payouts, flagged accounts and money sitting in a withdrawal queue. If you want apps with a lower threshold, see the fastest-paying sites.

What 21 readers told me

This review has 21 comments since June 2024: 11 from readers and 10 replies from me. These are the things readers wrote about most.

Apps with paid video ads2 comments

A reader asked for an app with a lower threshold that also pays for video ads. I pointed him to my list of the best ways to earn by watching videos.

“In Sept 2025, they changed the written rules without our agreement, charged fees to send our winnings into queues for withdrawal. When you finally could move the money to withdraw status, it just sat there (sits there).”

Mikael: Thanks for sharing your experiences. But I am a bit confused about what you have spent money on there?

“I’ve been playing almost a year and in Nov it says upgrading wait til dec 3 to cash out! I waited it gave me half of my payout now giving a suspicious activity on my account won’t allow payout”

  1. Is there an app with a lower payout threshold that one of the earning opportunities is watching video ads like in this app “Benjamin”? I want to do this kind of earning, but all the apps I’ve tried that has ads are for tickets to a raffle.

      • In Sept 2025, they changed the written rules without our agreement, charged fees to send our winnings into queues for withdrawal. When you finally could move the money to withdraw status, it just sat there (sits there). Mine’s been there more than a year ($91+). They thank me for my patience, though, and say it’s coming.

This isn’t a BBB issue, it’s deceptive business practice, which means you report it to your state Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division and the FTC.

If you spent your own money, you might still get that back through your credit card or PayPal dispute. Winnings? They’ve been stuck for a year. Good luck.

  3. I have been making screenshots of my daily check in because this App repeatedly says that I forgot to check in and wants me to pay for missing the check in! I’m down to $6 instead of $26.
I checked in yesterday and I always double check before bedtime, but again this morning the App says I missed yesterday and need to pay for missing.
    It’s a scam game ?

  4. Hi….I am thinking of joining Benjamine, but after thoroughly attempting to read & understand their terms of use, decided to check it out a bit further & found your review, so thank you very much for your candid comments. I admit I am a senior citizen and not up to par on all the advancing technology but am also rather paranoid about privacy. We dont have much left in this day & age. I may be totally wrong but it looks to me that by linking my credit union debit card to Benjamin, I would be giving them and the Plaid service TOTAL access to EVERY single transaction in my account: all deposits, all purchases, auto payments of monthly bills, etc, etc, etc. Perhaps even to my savings or any investment or loan accounts that are all tied into my one single member account number. Also to linked accounts my credit union allows between a couple of small (for family reasons) bank accounts I still have open in other states I have lived in. So whenever I open my local account, I am able to see every account balance, plus every ongoing daily transaction I make and therefore they would also have to be seeing everything I can see, hin order to decide what items they can pay me rewards for???? I don’t think so!!!! I am not rich, have only Soc. Sec. & a small retirement, am not doing anything illegal or trying to hide anything. My life is pretty much an open book, but I do not feel comfortable opening up ALL OF MY FINANCIAL PICTURE to Benjamin & Plaid no matter how secure they say they are. There are far too many security breeches constantly going on with companies that supposedly had great security. I did download the App but have not joined so am going to delete it. What few dollars I might earn are not worth all the prying eyes.??
