I tested Askable to see if its paid research studies are worth signing up for. It is legit, pays a decent amount per study and pays right away, but I did not find many studies. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend if you want to earn more regularly.
Legit paid research, but few studies
Decent pay per study, paid right after you finish, with no threshold. Do not expect to earn regularly.

The short answer
Askable is legit. It is a market research site that pays you for research studies, such as online surveys, focus groups and user testing. Each study pays a decent amount, and you are paid immediately after you complete it.
But it does not offer a lot of opportunities to earn, especially if you do not live in the US, the UK, Australia or New Zealand. It can be a decent secondary site, but you will not earn from it regularly.
- Pays a decent amount per paid research opportunity
- Offers payment via PayPal
- No payout threshold
- Paid immediately after each study
- Easy-to-use app for Android and iOS
- Limited earning opportunities
- FAQ page doesn’t provide a lot of useful information
- Most studies are for the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand
- You have to give your mobile number

Is Askable legit and safe?
Yes, Askable is legit, because you can earn from the opportunities it offers. But that does not make it worth your time for everyone. Here is what you should know before you sign up.
- Few research opportunities
When I was testing the site, I did not encounter a lot of paid research opportunities. Do not expect to earn from Askable regularly.
- Your location matters
Askable does not say which countries it is available in. You can register from more or less anywhere, but most opportunities are for people in the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
- You give your mobile number
Askable asks for your mobile number when you sign up, and sends you an SMS when there is a study for you. If you are not comfortable giving out your phone number, this site is not for you.
- In-person studies are rare
In-person studies pay the most, but you have to go to one of Askable’s offices, and they are very rare. Online surveys and online focus groups are the most common.
My takeAskable is not a bad site, in my opinion. Its earning opportunities pay a decent amount, and it uses a convenient payment method. The only problem is that it does not offer a lot of opportunities to earn. It can serve as a decent secondary site, but you have to set your expectations properly.
Askable has few studies, so you cannot earn from it regularly. These sites give you more ways to earn in your country.

There is only one way to earn: paid research opportunities.
Paid researchAround $30 to $50 online
Log in to the member dashboard to see if there are paid research opportunities. Askable also sends you an SMS when there is one for you, and you can check its Facebook page.
The studies are usually online surveys, focus groups, user testing or in-person activities at one of Askable’s offices. In my experience, in-person activities are not very common. Online surveys and online focus groups are the most common.
If you receive an invite, you already qualify, so you do not go through a qualifying process. If you apply for a study from the Facebook page, you go through a qualifying process first. After you complete a study, you receive the compensation.
How much can you make?
It depends on how many studies you can join. Online research opportunities typically pay around $30 to $50. In-person opportunities pay more, around $60 to $120, but they are very rare.
There are not many opportunities, so it is hard to expect to earn from Askable regularly. That is what I noticed when I was checking out the platform. Even though it pays a decent amount per study, its earning potential is not that good.
It can still serve as a decent secondary site to earn from, in my opinion.
How you get paid
| Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| PayPal | The most common option |
| Gift cards | In some countries |
Every time you complete a study, you earn a certain amount, and you are paid immediately after you complete it. There is no threshold. The payment method depends on the country you live in.
Askable’s payment system is relatively straightforward, and I like that it offers PayPal. For more sites with this method, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
Joining, the app and support
Sign up with your email, Apple or Google account. You also give your mobile number. After that, log in to the member dashboard to see if there are opportunities for you.
The Askable app for Android and iOS is relatively easy to use, and lets you take part in online surveys and focus groups on your phone. The overall user experience is generally pleasant, in my opinion.
The FAQ only gives a few basic pieces of information. For questions, log in to the member dashboard, click the Help link, choose the right topic and submit the form. I wish the FAQ had more useful information.
