I tested the WeAre8 app to see if you can really earn from watching ads on it. It is legit, but there are very few paid ads, and the earning part was only available in the UK when I tested it. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Legit, but too few paid ads to rely on
A social media app that pays you to watch short video ads, through PayPal from £1. The paid ads were only in the UK when I tested it.

The short answer
WeAre8 is a legit social media app that pays you to watch short video ads, and it donates the same amount to charity.
But there are very few paid ads, even in the UK, where the earning part was only available when I tested it. Readers report it pays less than it used to, and rewards can take up to 30 days to be credited. If you want extra cash, WeAre8 is not a reliable option.
- Offers a very simple way to earn
- The app is user-friendly
- High rewards per ad compared to PTC sites
- Pays through PayPal from £1
- Matches your earnings with a donation to charity
- Very limited earning opportunities
- It takes a lot of time before rewards will be credited
- Paid ads only in the UK when I tested it
- Readers report lower pay per ad than before
- No FAQ or Help page
My experience with WeAre8
I installed WeAre8 and looked at how the paid ads, payouts and support work. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is WeAre8 legit and safe?
Yes, WeAre8 is legit, because you really earn rewards from it. But that does not make it a reliable way to earn. Here is what you should know.
- Very few paid ads
You have no control over how often you get a paid ad. You can consider yourself lucky if you get two in a week, even in the UK.
- Only the UK can earn
When I tested it, the paid ads were only available in the UK, even though you can join from most countries. Elsewhere, you can only use the social media part. WeAre8 says it is working on more countries, but gives no date.
- Lower pay than before
Members told me it pays less per ad than when I first tested it. In February 2025, a reader reported earning as low as 3p per ad, and that an app update removed tablet access without warning.
- Slow crediting
It can take up to 30 days before a reward is credited to your account, so you need to be very patient.
- No FAQ or Help page
For any question, you have to use the contact form in the app settings.
My takeIf you want extra cash, WeAre8 is not a reliable option, even if you live in a country where the earning opportunity is available. It used to pay a decent amount, but the opportunities to earn are quite limited, and it doesn’t pay as much as it used to.
How you earn on WeAre8
There is only one way to earn: paid video ads.
Paid ads£0.20 when I tested
When a paid ad is available, the app sends you a notification. Log in and watch the ad. It is a video that usually does not last more than a minute.
When I first tested it, an ad paid £0.20. That is high compared to the paid ads on Paid-To-Click sites. Every time you earn, WeAre8 donates the same amount to a charity it supports.
Outside the UK, you see a message that there are no paid ads in your country yet. Then you can only post and interact with other members, like on any social media app. See the best apps that pay you to watch videos.
How much can you make?
WeAre8 rewards you pretty well per ad. Most sites with the same kind of opportunity pay only around $0.01 to $0.02 per ad at most.
But what you earn mostly depends on how often you get a paid ad, and there are not a lot of them, even in the UK. Two in a week is lucky. Members also report it pays less than it used to.
So the overall earning potential is relatively low. You have to be very patient to earn a significant amount.
Payout method and minimum
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | £1 | Rewards can take up to 30 days to be credited to your balance |
The payment system is pretty simple, and I like that it offers PayPal. For more sites with this method, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

If you have any comments, questions, or experience with WeAre8, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
Certainly needs updating as I’m earning as low as 3p per ad. Also you could use it on a tablet which was good as I have sight issues and arthritis so it worked well for me. Also from reviews it seems others do the same. The problem is that they have updated and also removed tablet access without warning anyone. All the details I used to sign up were within the app and although I think I remember the details I used, I can’t be sure so suddenly don’t have any access at all. In theory you can just open the app on a mobile, not ideal for me, but I tried, using android 10 which they say is ok but it tells me it’s not compatible. I haven’t withdrawn since joining so I currently seem to have lost over £15. I won’t be the only one.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I will make sure to look into this and update the review accordingly asap.
Did you take money from my acct amount £8.88
No, I do not charge anything since all my info is free of charge. You must be confusing my website with another business.
