SurveyMonster.net looks like a survey site, but you cannot take surveys or earn on it. I joined to test it. You get a long list of offers, a few tips and a “bonus” that is not really a bonus. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first.

Free to join, but not a survey site
You cannot earn on SurveyMonster itself. You get a long list of offers, and many of them are poor.

The short answer
SurveyMonster.net is free to join, but it is not a survey site. You do not get access to paid surveys, and you cannot earn anything on SurveyMonster itself.
After you join, you get a long list of offers. Some are legit survey sites, but many are poor offers that waste your time or can end up costing you money. The tips and earnings claims are not realistic, and the “bonus” for joining fast is just another list. In my opinion, SurveyMonster is a waste of time.
- Free to join
- The list has some legit survey sites
- You do not earn on the site itself
- Promotes many poor offers
- Gives bad advice
- Makes exaggerated claims about earnings
- A “limited” bonus that never expires

I made a short guided video tour of SurveyMonster, so you can see what the site looks like and what it offers. The screenshots below are from my test.

Is SurveyMonster legit and safe?
SurveyMonster is free to join, so in that sense there is no risk. But it is not a survey site, and you can end up wasting a lot of time. Here is what you should know.
- It looks like a survey site, but it is not
At first sight, SurveyMonster looks like any other survey site: you join, you take surveys, and you get paid. If you look closer, it only says you can register for surveys you are interested in. You do not get access to any paid surveys. You get a list of sites you can join.
- Many of the offers are poor
The list is long, but it is not built on quality. There are some legit survey sites, but also offers for credit score checks, vacation deals and other ways to make money online that are a waste of time or can end up costing you money. It also links to sites like Survey Voices. Several links do not take you to the offer shown, but to a different offer.
- Earnings claims that are not realistic
SurveyMonster says you can make up to $150 per hour, and that most surveys pay around $20 for a 10-minute survey. You will rarely find a survey that pays $20. It is possible at times, but it is not an average.
- A deadline that never expires
You are told you get a bonus if you join before a certain date. The date changes with the day you visit, so the offer never expires. I have checked the site regularly over several years, and the offer is always there with a new date. The bonus is also just another list of sites.
My takeSurveyMonster is clearly a site created to promote offers to earn commissions. It is not focused on giving you quality information, and it is not honest about the earning potential. In my opinion, it is a complete waste of time. There are many great survey sites where you can make some nice extra money, and you can join them directly.

SurveyMonster offers 3 things. None of them pays you. Tap one to read more.
A list of survey sites and other offersNo earnings
This is the main thing you get. You do not take surveys on SurveyMonster. You get a long list of offers you can join.
Some of them are legit survey sites, but there are not many. Many offers are not even for paid surveys. Several links take you to a different offer than the one shown.
If you find a good survey site on the list, you still have to go to that site and register there. Your earnings are on that site.
Tips about paid surveysNo earnings
You get a few tips under the menu tab called “important tips”. I have taken many online surveys, and several of these tips are not helpful. Some are not truthful.
For example, you are told to register for 10 to 20 sites right away. If you are new to paid surveys, that is too much. Start with 5 to 7 sites, so you have time to get to know each one. SurveyMonster wants you to join as many offers as possible, because it gets paid a commission when you join.
An “extra bonus” for joining fastNo earnings
Before you join, you are told you get a bonus if you join before a certain date. The bonus is a list of the top 20 paying survey sites.
The date changes with the day you visit, so the offer never expires. It is a trick to get you to sign up fast. And since SurveyMonster only offers lists anyway, there is no real bonus.
How you get paid, and how much you can make
You do not get paid by SurveyMonster. It only gives you a list of offers. If you join one of the good survey sites on it, you earn and get paid on that site. Many pay through PayPal, and some also pay by check, gift cards or products.
SurveyMonster claims you can make $150 per hour from surveys. That is not realistic, also not on the sites SurveyMonster recommends. Many of them will just waste your time.
How much you can make on the best survey sites depends on the sites you join, the country you live in and the time you put in. Paid surveys can be nice extra money on the side, but not a full-time income. See the best survey sites that pay through PayPal.
Survey sites I recommend instead
| Site | Best for | Min. cashout | My rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prime Opinion | Surveys only, fast payouts | $5 or $10, by country | 4.6 / 5 |
| Survey Junkie | Easy-to-use survey site in the US | $5 | 4.4 / 5 |
| Swagbucks | Many daily ways to earn, one of the biggest GPT sites | About $5 PayPal; gift cards from 100 SB | 4.3 / 5 |
| InboxDollars | US only. Many daily ways to earn | $15 first time, then $10 | 3.9 / 5 |
All of these are free to join, and you earn directly on the sites. Live in the US? See the best survey sites in the USA. Anywhere else, see the best survey sites in your country. You do not have to sign up for anything to see these lists.

Is SurveyMonster a scam?
It is free to join, so you do not lose money. But it is not a survey site, you cannot earn on it, and its tips and earnings claims are not realistic. In my opinion, it is a waste of time.
Can I take surveys on SurveyMonster?
No. You get a list of survey sites and other offers. You take surveys on the sites you join.
Does SurveyMonster pay you?
No. Your earnings are on the survey sites you join, and how you get paid depends on each site.
Can you make $150 an hour with surveys?
No. That is what SurveyMonster claims, but it is not a realistic rate on any survey site. Surveys are a way to earn extra money on the side, not a full-time income.
Who can join SurveyMonster?
Only people who live in the US and are at least 18 years old.
Is SurveyMonster.net the same as SurveyMonster.com?
No. SurveyMonster.com is a tool to create surveys. This review is about SurveyMonster.net, which claims to help you make money taking surveys.
Where can I find good survey sites instead?
