Screenwise Panel pays you points for sharing data from the devices you use every day. I got an invite and tested it myself. It is legit and passive, but invite-only, low-paying and invasive. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

A Google research panel run by Ipsos. You earn by sharing your data through a free router. Low rewards and little information.

Screenwise Panel is legit, since you can really earn rewards from it. It is a market research initiative from Google, managed by Ipsos. You earn passively by sharing data from your devices.
But it is an invite-only panel, so not everyone can join. Its earning potential is quite low, and the way you earn can be considered invasive. The website also does a poor job of explaining how the rewards work.

My experience with Screenwise Panel
I got an invite through Ipsos’ survey site iSay, set up the router and the metering tools, and earned points by using my devices. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Screenwise Panel legit and safe?
Yes, Screenwise Panel is legit, since you can really earn rewards from it. But there are trade-offs you should know before you accept an invite.
- It tracks your online activity
The router quietly monitors your online behavior and sends the data to Ipsos. The panel says it shares your data anonymously, but the way you earn can still be considered invasive. If you prefer your privacy, this is not for you.
- Invite-only
Not everyone can sign up. Screenwise does not say exactly how you get an invite. I got mine because I am a member of iSay. Invites seem to go out at certain periods, so you might have to wait a while.
- Unclear rewards
Screenwise is not very transparent about how many points you earn for the data you share. I never found information about how its payout system works, so I cannot tell you the threshold myself.
- Your devices must use the router
Your phone only earns when it is connected to the router Ipsos sent you. That means using the Wi-Fi instead of your phone’s mobile network.
My takeIn my opinion, Screenwise Panel is not for everyone. I would only recommend you join this panel if you get an invite, and if you are okay with sharing your data with another company. Just remember that its earning potential is quite low, so it will take a while before you can earn a significant amount.

There is only one way to earn: sharing your data.

After joining, you install the required metering tools. These can be a browser extension, a mobile app or another meter device. When I tested the panel, it used a high-speed Wi-Fi router, which Ipsos mailed to me for free. Follow the setup instructions down to the letter.
The router gathers your data anonymously and sends it to Ipsos. Ipsos checks the data and awards you a number of points. You might earn more with more devices connected to the router, but Screenwise is not very clear about how the reward system works.
After the setup, it takes very little effort. So if you like passive ways to earn, this can be an option.

How much can you make?
It depends on how many devices you connect and use. The website does a poor job of explaining the rewards system, so I cannot give you an exact amount.
Based on my testing, its earning potential is not that good. I earned slowly, around the average that other members report, so it takes some time to earn enough points to redeem a reward. That is not surprising: most platforms with this kind of earning opportunity that I have tested over the years do not offer a high earning potential.

The website says you can redeem prepaid cards, gift cards and even various products with your points. It does not explain how, or how many points you need for a reward. I never found this information when I tested it.
Based on feedback from other members, the first threshold is quite high, so you wait a while for your first reward. If you prefer a low payout threshold, see the fastest-paying sites.
How to join Screenwise Panel
You need an invite. Screenwise does not say exactly how to get one, but you can usually get it if you are a member of one of its partner platforms. I got mine because I signed up for Ipsos’ survey site iSay. Do not expect an invite right away.
Your invitation letter comes by email and includes a code. Enter it to complete your registration. Then tell Screenwise which devices you use and where to ship the router. Ipsos covers the shipping fee, so you do not have to spend a dime.
When the router arrives, set it up according to the instructions. After that, you earn passively by using the devices connected to the Wi-Fi router.
