I looked at the Rewarded Play app to see if you can really earn by playing games. It is legit, but the rewards are low and you only get gift cards. Below is what I found, and which apps I recommend instead.
Legit, but low rewards and gift cards only
Fun games and a $5 threshold, but it takes a lot of time to earn. US and Android only.

The short answer
Rewarded Play is a legit app. It rewards you for playing mobile games, and at the time of my latest update, it had paid out more than $15 million in rewards to its members.
But the rewards are pretty low, so you have to invest a lot of time just to earn a bit of extra money. You can only redeem gift cards, and the app is only for Android users in the US. If you are looking for apps to earn from, it is not the ideal option.
- A fun way to earn rewards
- The app is user-friendly
- A relatively low payout threshold of $5
- Free Comeback Points a few times a day
- Low rewards for the time you put in
- Only an Android app, no iOS and no desktop
- No cash rewards, only gift cards
- Only available in the US

Is Rewarded Play legit and safe?
Yes, Rewarded Play is legit. It rewards you for playing games and has paid out more than $15 million. But legit does not mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know.
- The rewards are low
Most game challenges pay around 100 to 500 coins. Challenges that pay thousands of coins take a lot of time. If you are quite active, you typically reach the $5 threshold in about two weeks.
- The coins under a game are a maximum
The number of coins under a game is not what you earn for playing it. It is the total you can earn from that game. Once you reach it, you can no longer earn from that game.
- Always open games through Rewarded Play
Open each game through the Rewarded Play app. Otherwise, it cannot track your progress, and you do not get coins for the challenges you complete.
- Gift card codes arrive in the app, not by email
Unlike most GPT apps, Rewarded Play does not email your gift card code. You get a notification in the app and claim the code there. Remember to check the app.
- Watch out for the iOS app with the same name
Rewarded Play is only for Android. An iOS app with the same name is not the app in this review.
My takeIf you just want fun mobile games to pass the time, Rewarded Play can be a good gateway app, and you earn a bit while you play. But if you are looking for apps to earn from, it is not the ideal option. The rewards are pretty low, and you only get gift cards. You are better off with a survey or GPT site.
Rewarded Play pays little for your time. These game apps and sites pay more.

There are 2 ways to earn. Playing games makes up most of the coins. Tap one to read more.
Playing gamesAround 100–500 coins per challenge
When you log in, you see all the mobile games you can play. Each game has challenges you must complete to earn coins. Before you play, open the game in the My Apps section to see every challenge and its reward. They are a good guide.
A game you have not installed asks you to download it first. Always start the game from Rewarded Play, so it can track your progress. You hear a notification sound when you complete a challenge.
The coins shown under a game are the total you can earn from it, not what you earn for playing once. It takes a lot of effort to reach that maximum in most cases.
Comeback PointsSmall, a few times a day
Press “Collect My Points” to claim free coins. A timer then shows when you can claim again. You can do this a few times a day.
You also get free coins when you log in during your first 5 days as a member, once per day. The amounts are small, but it is nice to get free coins from time to time.
How much can you make?
It mostly depends on how much time you spend. There are a lot of games, so you never really run out of ways to earn coins, and you get free coins every day.
But the earning potential is not that good, in my opinion. Most challenges you can finish in minutes pay around 100 to 500 coins. Challenges that pay thousands of coins take a long time. If you are quite active, you typically reach the $5 threshold in about two weeks. That is a long time for $5.
In my opinion, the real value is the fun games. If you play mobile games anyway, you might as well get something out of it.
Payout options and minimum

You can only redeem gift cards. There is a wide variety to choose from, but no cash. If you want cash, see the top sites that pay through PayPal.
