I tested Research-i to see if its paid research projects are worth your time. It is legit and pays a good amount per project, but there are not a lot of projects, and it is only really for people in the UK. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.
Legit and pays well per project, but projects are few
Around £200 to £500 for projects at a Research-i facility. Few projects, no guarantee you are chosen, and only really for people in the UK.

The short answer
Research-i is a legit market research company. It pays you to take part in research projects, like interviews, group discussions and game testing, and it pays a good amount per project.
But there are not a lot of projects available, and there is no guarantee you are chosen when you apply. It is only really for people who live in the UK. It can be a decent secondary site, but it is not something you can earn from regularly.
- Offers high rewards per project
- Offers interesting ways to earn, like game testing

Is Research-i legit and safe?
Yes, Research-i is a legit market research company. But that does not automatically make it worth your time. Here is what you should know before you sign up.
- Not a lot of projects
There are not a lot of projects available at any given time, and each project only takes a limited number of participants. If you see one you like, apply immediately.
- No guarantee you are chosen
You apply for each project and wait to hear back by email or phone. You can consider yourself lucky if you get to take part in a couple of projects in a month.
- Only really for people in the UK
You can sign up wherever you live, but the projects are for people who live in the UK. Projects in person also mean you travel to the nearest Research-i facility at the set time.
- Payment for projects at home is not explained
Projects at a Research-i facility pay in cash after completion. The website has no information about how projects at home are paid. If you do a project at home, submit your report before the deadline, or you are not credited.
- No FAQ or Help page
If you have a question, you have to email the support team.
My takeIn my opinion, Research-i is a decent site to earn extra cash as long as you align your expectations in terms of earning potential. What I like about it is that it pays a good amount per project. However, it’s not something you can regularly earn from, so it’s not a great primary site to earn extra cash.
Research-i has few projects, and only for people in the UK. These sites let you earn more regularly, wherever you live.

There is only one way to earn: research projects that you apply for.
Research projectsAround £50 to £500 per project
Log in to the member dashboard to see all the projects that are running. You also receive an email when projects are available, so you can check your inbox instead of logging in all the time.
Project types are one-on-one interviews, group discussions, in-home interviews, telephone interviews, games and app testing, and product testing. Game testing is the most common, so if you love playing video games, this is your chance to earn extra cash while playing.
Click a project to see the full details, including the amount you earn and the schedule. Complete your profile first, then fill out the application form. Most of the time, you hear back by email or phone call if you are chosen.
For a project in person, you go to the nearest Research-i facility at the set time. For a project at home, you submit your report before the deadline. Otherwise, you are not credited with the reward.
How much can you make?
The amount per project is quite significant, especially if you have to go to a Research-i facility. Those projects normally pay around £200 to £500, depending on how complex the project is and how long it takes. Projects at home usually pay around £50 to £100, which is also quite a decent amount.
Even so, its earning potential is not that great, because there are not a lot of projects, and there is no guarantee you are chosen when you apply. You can consider yourself lucky if you get to take part in a couple of projects in a month.
Be that as it may, Research-i is one of the higher-paying sites, in my opinion. For more sites like it, see the best user testing sites.
How you get paid
| Project | How you are paid |
|---|---|
| At a Research-i facility | In cash, after you complete the project |
| At home | The website has no information about the payment method |
You are paid every time you complete a research project. The payment method depends on where the project takes place. In my experience, sites like this usually use a convenient payment method like PayPal or a direct bank transfer. Overall, I would say its payment system is relatively straightforward.
For more sites with a convenient payment system, see the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.
Who can join, and how
You can sign up for Research-i wherever you live, but it is only really for people who live in the UK. If you live somewhere else, this is not for you.
To register, fill out the sign-up form and click the link in the confirmation email. Then log in to the member dashboard and complete your profile before you apply for research projects.
Research-i has no mobile app, but the dashboard is optimized for mobile, so you can check and apply for projects on your phone. The projects themselves need a computer, a game console or other devices.
