I tested the QuickThoughts app to see if it really is a quick way to earn. It is legit and easy to use, but there are not many surveys and it pays in gift codes only. Below is what I found, and which survey apps I would pick first.
Legit survey app, but average: few surveys and no cash
Survey app from Dynata. Rewards in your local currency, paid out as gift codes from $10. No cash payouts.

The short answer
QuickThoughts is legit and not a scam. It is a survey app that is part of Dynata, a company that has been around since 1977. You can actually earn with it, and it is easy to use, even in your local language.
But it does not pay cash. You get gift codes by email, from $10, and there are usually only a couple to choose from. There are not very many surveys either. For me, the cons outweigh the pros: QuickThoughts is average, and there are better survey apps.
- Reliable company behind it
- Easy to use
- Available in local languages and currencies
- You see the estimated time and the reward before you start
- Your rewards never expire
- Not very many surveys
- No cash rewards, only gift codes
- Not many reward options
- Not clear which countries it is available in
- Mobile only
My experience with QuickThoughts
I installed the QuickThoughts app, answered the first questions, went through the surveys and the reward options, and made a video walkthrough of the app. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is QuickThoughts legit and safe?
Yes, QuickThoughts is legit. There is an experienced company behind it, and you can actually earn with it. But that does not make it worth your time. Here is what you should know.
- No cash rewards
QuickThoughts pays in gift codes, not cash. Which companies you can choose depends on your country, and there are usually only a couple. Check the reward options in your country before you spend time on surveys.
- Not many surveys
The rewards per survey are fine, but there are just not enough surveys. You will not qualify for all of them, and it can take a bit of time to find the ones you do qualify for.
- Several readers report suspended accounts
Three readers wrote between 2018 and 2019 that their account was suspended or locked before they could cash out, without a clear reason. Another reader wrote in 2019 that she never had a problem with payment.
- Support can be slow
I have read in several places that the support is slow, and one reader wrote in 2023 that her rewards stayed under review and support did not reply. People usually get their issues resolved, but it can take longer. I have not needed to contact support myself.
- Unclear where you can join
QuickThoughts does not say which countries it is available in. Search for it in your app store: if it shows up, you can use it.
My takeQuickThoughts can make you a little extra money, but for me, the cons outweigh the pros. I like taking surveys, but there are so many survey sites, so it does not make sense to spend too much time on apps or sites that are just average. But if you want to join as many survey apps as possible, then QuickThoughts is a legit option you can check out.
QuickThoughts is legit, but it has few surveys and no cash payouts. These survey apps give you better options.
See the best alternativesHow you earn on QuickThoughts
There are 2 ways to earn. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysMain earner
The first time you log in, you answer a few questions. It only takes 2 minutes. Then you see an overview of the available surveys, with the estimated time and the reward for each one.
QuickThoughts works with partner survey companies, so you will often take surveys from other sites. You get the promised reward in your QuickThoughts account after you complete a survey. You can turn on notifications for new surveys.
You will not qualify for all of them, and sometimes it takes a bit of time to find the ones you qualify for. The rewards in relation to the time spent are decent, but it does not give as good options as the top survey apps.
MissionsSome countries
Sometimes you find extra missions, for example feedback on local stores, secret shopper missions, quick polls, or in-store surveys in your local area if your GPS is on.
They can be a fun way to earn, but they are not available in all countries, and there is no guarantee how often they show up. If you get one, it can be worth checking out.

How much can you make?
Not a lot. The rewards per survey are fine and similar to most other similar apps, in my experience, but there are just not enough surveys.
The number of surveys varies from country to country, so it might be different for you. But no matter what, you should not expect QuickThoughts to make you very much money.
Payout method and minimum
| Method | Minimum | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Gift codes by email | $10 | Which companies depends on your country; usually only a couple |
You earn in your local currency, so you always see exactly how much you make. Once you are a member, your rewards never expire, so you do not lose them if it takes a long time to reach the threshold.
You cannot get your earnings in cash. If you prefer cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Scam galore. After my 4th or so survey they suspended my account and refuse to explain why. I keep getting a response that states; “Unfortunately, the accuracy and attentiveness of your account activity has been flagged, and upon review of your account, we have been forced to suspend your account.
As a member of our program, you may only have one account, provide accurate profile information and survey responses. You must also be thoughtful and attentive in responding to our surveys. When we have concerns about any of these program rules, we are obligated to take steps to investigate and unfortunately suspend accounts.
We do not take account suspension lightly and do so only when account issues have been identified. At this time, your account has been indefinitely suspended and you will no longer be able to participate in surveys or claim rewards from our website.
Thank you for your understanding.”
They claim to have reviewed my account and chose to block me… yet they have (after 3 responses) still refused to tell me anything other than a generic reason.
If I’d made a fake account- ok. If I’d selected random answers… ok…. but they clearly want specific answers that apparently don’t rely on accurate opinions…. so if you disagree with what they think you should say, you’re fraudulent and blocked. Glad I only wasted a short amount of time.
“We took the aforementioned action after reviewing the accuracy and attentiveness of your account activity. As a renowned market research provider, we take the validity of our research data very seriously and needed to take steps to address the matter.
We appreciate your time on our panel but, as previously stated, we unfortunately have no option other than to permanently suspend your account.
Thank you for your understanding.”

I completely agree with the people who are saying their account was suspended without cause and you never get your money. Same thing happened to me. I had $20 to cash out and the app kept giving me errors. Contacted them to help resolve this and it took 2 weeks for them to reply and basically say my account was suspended with a lame lying script. Couldn’t even give me a specific reason. They are a joke and scammers.
Sorry to hear that Bridget. But thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us.
Mikael
Useless and hopeless. I did many surveys and earned about$30.00. They kicked me out of the app and was not able to log in. The excuse was can’t find my info. After going back and forth they reinstated my account. Ok and behold they did it again and took my MONEY. Same excuse over and over again. Fraud!!!
Sorry to hear this Shay. But thanks for sharing so others can see.

I just found this site and I’m glad I did, I would have probably fallen for the sucker deal. Thank you for sharing this information so I was able to prevent it.
I always question these things, and they all sound so good.
Keep on writing.. I love it.

Thanks for your feedback Jay. Glad you found it useful. There are some great survey sites out there that are definitely worth joining – in my opinion Quick Thoughts is just not one of them.
All the best,
Mikael
