MySurvey has closed

MySurvey has closed. More correctly, it merged with another site, and a new site called LifePoints Panel was launched instead. In January 2019, I received a message that MySurvey for the US would be replaced by this new platform. You cannot join or earn on MySurvey now.

I keep my review below as a record. For a site similar to MySurvey in an updated version, see my LifePoints review. The other sites I would pick are further down.

MySurvey paid you in points for online surveys. It has now closed and was replaced by LifePoints Panel. I looked at it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

The short answer

MySurvey has closed. It merged with another site, and a new site called LifePoints Panel was launched instead. You can no longer join or earn on MySurvey.

When it was running, it was a legit survey site. It had existed since 2001 and was part of Lightspeed Research, the company behind GlobalTestMarket. It had good reward options, but it was not the site with the most surveys, and in some countries the opportunities were limited.

What I like
  • Was free to join
  • Good reward options, including PayPal
  • Available in the local language
  • Decent rewards for the time spent
What I don’t like
  • MySurvey has closed
  • Limited opportunities in some countries
  • Only surveys, so fewer ways to earn than on many other sites

My experience with MySurvey

I looked at MySurvey myself: its surveys, rewards, app and support options. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was MySurvey legit and safe?

MySurvey has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was not a scam. It was a legit survey site where you actually got paid for the surveys you took. These were the catches.

  • It has closed

MySurvey merged with another site, and LifePoints Panel was launched instead. Before that, MySurvey had already closed its websites in a number of countries and directed them to GlobalTestMarket.

  • You did not qualify for every survey

As on any survey site, you did not qualify for all the surveys you were offered. Finding the ones you qualified for could take patience, depending on your country and your profile.

  • Limited in some countries

MySurvey was only available in some countries, and it did not offer the most daily opportunities. Joining it as your only site would not give you a huge amount.

  • One reader reports slow support

One reader reports that support was very slow to answer tickets and that points for surveys she took were not credited. She also wrote that MySurvey is a reputable company that paid her.

My takeMySurvey has closed, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it was a legit survey site that could give you some extra money, best in combination with other survey sites. If you want something similar, LifePoints replaced it.

How you earned on MySurvey

There were four ways to earn. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysPoints per survey

Surveys were the main way to earn. After you signed up and confirmed your email address, you got an email invitation when there were surveys available.

You did not qualify for all the surveys you were offered. How many you qualified for depended a lot on the country you lived in and your profile.

Monthly sweepstakesPrizes around $100

MySurvey ran monthly sweepstakes. Usually, the prizes were around $100. You got entries just by being a member, and some surveys gave you extra entries. The more active you were, the more entries you got.

The exact prizes and the number of sweepstakes could vary from country to country.

Product testingKeep the product

Sometimes MySurvey offered product testing. You tested a new product and gave your feedback and opinion about it. In most cases, you got to keep the product as a reward.

Inviting friendsAround $1.50

You could invite friends to join MySurvey. The reward was usually around $1.50, once your friend had joined, confirmed the membership and started taking surveys.

How much could you make?

Paid surveys can make you some nice extra money on the side, but no survey site will make you a full-time income or make you rich. That also went for MySurvey.

Compared to other survey sites, MySurvey did not offer quite as many opportunities, because it only offered surveys. It offered a decent amount of surveys, and it was very easy to use. To get more surveys, it was a good idea to also join other top survey sites.

How MySurvey paid

You got paid in points for every survey. You could exchange the points for different rewards. The exact selection depended on the country you lived in.

RewardMinimumNotes
PayPalAround 1200 points ($10)Available in more or less all countries. The threshold could vary from country to country.
Amazon e-certificates and gift cardsDepends on the rewardThe selection depended on your country
ProductsDepends on the rewardThe selection depended on your country

You could mix the rewards: get paid through PayPal once, and choose a gift card the next time.

  1. hi mikael, its me darlene again…I am very disappointed in Mysurvey.

Their customer service is very slow responding to tickets and when they do, they either say you have to wait so many weeks before credit is given and I have passed that time or they give a reply that makes no sense, like giving me details about using app on my phone, which I dont use.

They owe me for 2 big surveys, 1000 and 900 and a couple others. What do I do? They are not answering my replies since the other answers and have put on the tickets …solved…they are not solved. I have not gotten my points. The 900 are for a home survey even…I don’t understand, all this work for nothing. I am tired of sending requests to them. Can you suggest something, please?

    • Sorry to hear that Darlene.

I actually just a few days received a message saying that MySurvey for the US will be replaced by a new platform – this is supposedly also the LifePoints platform you mentioned to me earlier. So looks like the platform in the US might be changing and maybe that is why the support there is really slow because they are busy. I will keep an eye on this and check out the new platform when it launches.

My suggestion would be that you try to contact the company behind MySurvey and make them aware that you are having problems with getting in contact with support. The company behind is called Lightspeed. Hope they can help you so you can get your money soon.

      • yeah, i was just gonna tell you that, and it seems to me global test market was going with them too, i dont remember i have to look it up. if you added the points together 2200 points, i can get 5 in pp for every 600 , so yes these diaries were long and one was home test, i want my points.

        Reply
          • “I did not do the purchases and payment survey for anyone else but you which is the 1000 points, The 900 points is for the battery survey which I did at home for you. Why would you say I did these surveys for another site. I want to see that information because it is untrue and I do not know who would say such a thing. I still have my paperwork from you from the battery survey.”

This is crazy. This is the response they come up with to get outta awarding me my points for my hard work? I am appalled. That’s their response, such a lie. The home survey for 900 was for them too, and I still have the paperwork. I sent them this today

          • Sorry to hear that Darlene. But good you still have your paperwork. Hopefully, that will help to convince them to pay you.

      • Please people, dont get me wrong, mysurveys is a reputable company and has paid me, but i am having a issue with them PERSONALLY on some payments, but all in all, please dont go by this, they do pay.

  2. Hi Mike; My Survey seems to be an active survey site that helps some unemployed people stay busy.

The countries you listed for legit does all of them merge survey with my survey, so that people from those countries can work directly with My Survey?

Let’s say My Survey is available in the state I live, can I stay home and make a living from taking the survey of this company?

    DorcasW

    Reply
    • Hi DorcasW,

Yes, if you live in one of the countries where MySurvey is available, you take the surveys on that site and get paid through MySurvey directly.

You should in general not expect to make a living from taking paid surveys. It can give some nice extra cash on the site, and it is very easy to get started, but it will not make you rich. The sites that promise you to become rich or easily make a full-time income on them are usually scam sites, where you will end up losing money instead.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

      All the best,
      Mikael
