I joined Microworkers to test it and took a closer look at its tasks, its fees and the complaints about it. It has a lot of small tasks and works worldwide, but the pay is low, the fees are high, and some readers report problems getting paid. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first.
Real micro tasks, but low pay and high fees
Most tasks pay 5 to 30 cents, minus a 10% fee, and payouts cost up to 7.5% more. Some readers report slow or missing withdrawals.

The short answer
People are earning and getting paid on Microworkers, so it seems legit in that sense. It is available worldwide and has a good number of small tasks, which are fairly easy to do.
But several readers report withdrawals that stayed pending or were never paid, and support that did not reply. Most tasks pay 5 to 30 cents, Microworkers takes 10% of every task, and payout fees go up to 7.5%. Your first payout also needs a PIN mailed to your home address. There are better alternatives.

- Tasks are fast to do and fairly easy
- Low pay: most tasks pay 5 to 30 cents

- Slow verification by mail before you can get paid
- Several complaints about poor support and problems getting paid
My experience with Microworkers
I joined Microworkers to test it and explored the tasks, the verification steps, the payout options and the support. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

- Pay per task

- Payout
- Not requestedThe PIN by mail was too much of a hassle for me
- The job list, the categories and the task details
- The surveys category and the PeanutLabs surveys
- The phone verification and the admission test

- A payout. I have not verified how the PIN by mail works, so my review does not show a payment from Microworkers.
An inside look at Microworkers
I made a short video that gives you an inside look and shows exactly how Microworkers works. It does not show a payout.
Screenshots from my test
Microworkers pays little per task and charges high fees. These sites have better opportunities, higher rewards and no payout fees.

Is Microworkers legit and safe?
People do get paid on Microworkers, so it seems legit in that sense. But there are quite a lot of complaints about it online and in the comments below. Here is what you should know before you join.
- Many readers report problems getting paid
I have received several messages and comments on my website and YouTube channel from people who could not get support or had problems getting paid. Readers report withdrawals that stayed pending for weeks or months, were cancelled, or were never paid, even after they sent ID documents.
- Support is slow to answer
Support says it replies to tickets within 5 business days, and it is not fast on Facebook either. Microworkers has not responded to any of the complaints on the review sites I have seen. If you need help, you likely have to be patient and write several times.
- A PIN by mail before your first payout
The first time you request a payout, Microworkers mails a PIN to your home address. It takes up to 4 weeks to arrive, and you only get your money after you enter it. Readers also report being asked for ID documents before they could cash out.
- Low pay and high fees
Most tasks pay 5 to 30 cents, and Microworkers takes 10% of every completed task. Payouts cost another 5% to 7.5%, depending on the method. The fees are clearly stated in the FAQ, but they are high.
- Some tasks put your accounts at risk
Many tasks are small social media jobs or Google searches, which can be a way to manipulate algorithms. Some tasks might put your social media accounts at risk. Only do tasks that are ethical.
My takeIt is great that Microworkers is available worldwide and has a good number of easy tasks. But the payout verification is very slow, the fees are very high, and many people report problems getting paid and reaching support. The fees are one of the reasons I will not be using the site myself anymore. With so many options online, there are better alternatives.
How you earn on Microworkers
There are 2 ways to earn. Micro jobs are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Micro jobsMostly 5 to 30 cents
After you sign up, you see a list of the available jobs, and you can filter them by category. Many jobs are small things on social media: watch a YouTube video and like it, share a Facebook post and provide evidence, or search Google and visit a website through that search.
Click a job to see how many tasks are left, how much it pays, how long it takes, and how long before it is rated and the money reaches your account. Most tasks take a few minutes, but some take much longer and are not worth the time, so choose wisely.
Before you can start, you verify your phone number with a PIN. Many tasks also need an admission test of around 10 minutes, and you are not paid for it.
SurveysOften very low
The surveys category sometimes has paid surveys, but I have not found many. They usually come from members promoting a survey offer, so there is an extra middleman, and the rewards are often very low compared to actual survey sites.
Next to the number of available jobs, you see “PL jobs”. This is PeanutLabs, a survey router with several surveys you can take. You do not need the phone verification or the admission test for these. Personally, I prefer taking these surveys through the highest paying survey sites, as many of them offer the same surveys.
How much can you make?
Microworkers offers quite a lot of tasks, but most do not pay much: the majority pay between 5 and 30 cents. Some pay more, but it takes a lot of tasks to make any real money.
The tasks are fast to do and do not take much effort. But Microworkers takes a 10% fee every time you complete a task, and another fee when you cash out. In my opinion and experience, you can earn more on the top get-paid-to sites that also have many daily tasks.
Do not expect anything near a full-time income. If that is your goal, you will very likely be disappointed.
Payout methods, minimums and fees
| Method | Minimum | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | $9 | 7.5% |
| Skrill | $9 | 6.50% |
| Payoneer | $20 | 5% |
| Dwolla (US only) | $9 | Shown in the FAQ |
| Transpay | $9 | Shown in the FAQ |
You need enough earnings to pay the withdrawal fee too. The first time you request a payout, Microworkers mails a PIN to your home address to verify it. This takes up to 4 weeks, and you get your money only after you enter the PIN. I have not verified how well this works, because it is too much of a hassle for me.
Want to know more about these payout methods? Read what a Payoneer account is and what a Skrill account is. If you want to get paid faster, see the fastest paying sites with a low minimum payout.
Who can join, and on which device?
Microworkers is an international site, so you can join no matter where you live. The number of tasks depends on your country: each task shows which countries it is available in. Many tasks are available worldwide.
There is no app, but the website works on mobile. It is not super easy to use on a phone, and you sometimes have to zoom in and out, but overall it gives a decent mobile experience.

And that can take several weeks to arrive. … Still very poor service of their support not to reply though.
“We all used Transpay to withdraw our money so we can waive the pin as stated on their FAQS. … Long story short, only one of us got paid.”
Mikael: Unfortunately, I have heard a lot of complaints about problems getting paid.

Really
i had $13 in my microworkers account since 2019. i tried cashing out back then via bank transfer, it just sat in pending until it “expired” and was canceled. i messaged support and got a useless reponse.
tried to cash out again and it stayed as pending, messaged support, no response. from then it remained as pending from 2019 to 2022.
recently i came back and thought what the hell lets give it another try. canceled the pending withdrawal (lol pending for 3 years). saw that there’s a “KYC verification” now where i have to upload identity documents before i could cash out, so i uploaded my drivers license. they said it’d take up to 5 days to verify. it’s been 11 days. still pending. tried cashing out to paypal, pending for 5 days.
messaged support, no response.
i’ve seen lots of people getting paid but im not getting paid. to me they’re a scam. i recommend that you don’t join this site, you might never get your money.
Sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing your experiences.
Hello
There are another site picoworkers turned into a scam site. Please read others comment and reviews on different reviews platform.
picoworkers.com does not have any legal address in USA. It is not registered under Picoworkers Marketing LLC. The address mentioned on the website is 27 W. Anapamu St. #140 Santa Barbara, CA 93101
The police of Santa Barbara confirmed me after the tracking and investigation. They also confirmed that there is no any picoworkers Marketing LLC named company registered in California and even others states in USA! And the mobile number is a virtual USA number that is operating outside of the USA police said. They referred this case file number with the details to their special IS database.
You can call them directly at Police Procedure in Santa Barbara Police Department.
I made a official case against picoworkers when I discovered their crazy and illegal activities. They seized my $200 illegally and suspended my account by the name of TOS violation. But the reality is that I never violated the rules and the TOS.
Please do search others trusted reviews platform and see what other people are saying?
In my sense I can say that we should not trust and work on a platform that has no any legal entity, that is not registered and that has no any legal registered address. This is the sign of scammer and fraudulence activities.
Thanks for sharing this.
Of course there are going to be people out there who will claim Microworkers is legit because they are getting paid(And they really are). But don’t be deceived. These sites pay only a certain % percentage of people. They use these people to get more people. So don’t say it’s legit just because some are getting paid. Look at it in its entirety.
There are 15 of us who worked here. We all used Transpay to withdraw our money so we can waive the pin as stated on their FAQS. We actually wanted to reach at least 50$ dollars to withdraw but because of the bad reviews we pulled out our earned money earlier than we wanted to. Long story short, only one of us got paid. The 14 of us didn’t. And on the withdraw status page, it says that our payment is on hold and pin will be mailed first on our address(Which beats the purpose of using Transpay to waive off the pin). We all messaged and inquire regarding this. We never got a reply from them, yes the 14 of us didn’t get any replies from them. We messaged them very politely and very clear as possible to no avail. After 3 months, since I already lost all hope, I decided to message them one final message. I messaged them regarding how disappointed I am with their website. That I thought that it was a legit site and invested a lot of time but it turned out to be a scam site. Stated my experience, and my colleagues experience with the website.
Lo and behold, they replied to that message after 2 days of writing that message. And for the first time despite all the red flags pointing to the fact that they are 100% scam site, I was hopeful. It felt so good seeing them reply. I almost felt winning the lottery(It felt so good because my other colleagues are more active in following up with them and they didn’t get any replies from them). So I hurriedly open the message and read it. What they did is they cancelled my pending withdrawal and they asked for my driver’s license/Passport or any other government ID so they can verify my account and they can send me the money right away(which actually doesn’t make any sense but I stupidly complied). Fast forward, 9 months later, They never messaged me back. They took personal data from me and scammed me at the same time. I am actually scared they might use my personal info for other illegal purposes(since I’ve given a couple important IDs).
So yep that is my experience, our experience. Just so you know, the other one that got paid didn’t even continue in Microworkers. He’s just happy he was able to get his money. We all shifted to Picoworkers. We didn’t get any problems withdrawing money there but it’s very slow compared to Micro(by slow I mean the rate in which we earn money). We all stopped from Picoworkers after 2 to 3 months. So if you are asking for legitimacy, I would definitely go for Picoworkers. But if you want to take the risk of faster money earning but getting paid is like winning the lottery, then go with Microworkers.
Thanks for sharing your experiences about this. Unfortunately, I have heard a lot of complaints about problems getting paid.
But appreciate you taking the time to share this so others can see what to consider before joining.
Microworkers is a big scam site!
I requested withdrawal on 9/9/2020 – 18/9/2020 now but still don’t get a payment: https://prnt.sc/uj7c0q
I asked them on email and got no response from them.
Don’t waste your time for this shit site!
Thanks for sharing your experience about this. But be aware that before you will get your money, if it is the first time you withdraw, they will first mail a pin code to your physical address you need to confirm your identity before you get your money. And that can take several weeks to arrive. So until then, you will not get your money.
It also shows your payment is on hold because of the pin code on the screenshot you send.
Still very poor service of their support not to reply though.
Let me know how it goes.
I want to share my recent & neutral opinion about this site. I opened an account & start working on this site more than 3 months ago only with the belief that they still pay. They were found to be a legit site few years back. But I was totally wrong. I worked hard & accumulated $10.29 into my account. Then I place my withdrawal request through Transpay. But 2 weeks passed & I still found my withdrawal as pending. Then I contact with their support & the fraud admin told me that my withdrawal has expired & it was cancelled. Then this liar told me to submit my NID for further processing & I did that with an honest mind. Then the biggest absurd things happened. The fraudster told me that my birth date was not matching with my account so I can have my account cancelled & open a new one. But I knew that it was 100% correct so I challenged & got no reply. I messaged several times then but got no reply. Then I understood that it was only a huge lie & the admin simply cheat with the workers by wasting their time, stole their hard earned money & never pay once an withdrawal request has been submitted. I waste lots of time for nothing in this site so I really feel very sad for this. My request to all who are thinking about working on this site is that “STOP!! PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME IN THIS SCAM SITE.IF YOU DO THEN YOU WILL DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK”.
Thanks for sharing your experiences about this. Unfortunately, I have heard several stories like that recently.
I am a victim in microworkers. how to punish these frauds?
Can you tell a bit more about what you have experienced Joshy?
When my earnings reached $11, I requested withdrawal to paypal. They sent a pin to my email to complete transaction and I completed transaction. 1 week later I check the withdrawal status, then it was showing ‘pending’. I sent a message to admin about this. Then they asked my Id proof. I attached copy of my pancard, waited 1 week and checked withdrawal status, it was pending, then I send 4 messages with 5 days interval. They didn’t respond. Then I cancelled the withdrawal request and chose transpay method for withdrawal and completed the request using a new pin they had send to my email. Now passed 2 months, withdrawal status remains pending and no answer to my query. At this point I saw your article and comments. I found here the people almost same experiences of me. I humbly request you don’t promote fraud site like microworkers. I have good experience with picoworkers.
sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing your experiences so others can see.
Hi
You can take couple of effective steps:
Please take screenshot of your hard earned balance and save it.
1.Report to online news media bbc.com,independent.co.uk and some other online news site who published positive reviews about microworkers.com in 2015 or 2016.
2. Report to ICANN requesting domain seize. Notify them about this scamming and Fraudulent activities.
3. Report to ic3.gov about this scamming with proof.
4. Make awareness among the job providers who are posting job regularly by depositing money and this fraud admin earning the whole money. You and me ? nothing..!
You are correct, I am a victim in microworkers. how to punish these frauds?
Seems like microworkers is turning in to a scam now, i’ve been banned for a day for second time this week for being a bot, after completing more than 12000 tasks im getting calld a bot, wonder how they treat newbies, they haven’t replied to any of my emails either, they never do!
I have heard several stories recently from people that have problems getting paid by Microworkers. I will keep looking into that and update the review if I find any additional info.
Thanks for sharing this.
Microworkers.com is very legit website to earn money. I have earned from this webiste. no doubt. There is another website for earning that is more or less the same as microworker – if you are looking for earning money online check out picoworkers also.
Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.
Picoworkers is good. Microworkers is cheat. This is my experience.
You are lucky man. Lottery prize will not get all participants. I earned more than $11 with a month. They didn’t transfer it to my requested account. No reply from admin.
I’d say they’re scam. they let you earn up to a certain sum so you are allowed to withdraw… that takes months… when youre finally there – they deny your withdraw request… so in sum, they let you work for free… is this modern day slavery?
Sorry to hear that Elsa. But thanks for sharing your experiences about this.
It’s completely legit, I didn’t receive any pin on my address but after I contact support they approved my PIN and paid me 9$ here’s proof
https://prnt.sc/pltfxd
That is great to hear Nedim. Thanks for sharing the proof.

You need to contact Microworkers’ support and hopefully, they will be able to help you out.
