I tested MegaTypers, a captcha-solving site that claims you can earn over $200 a month. It is not a scam, but the pay is very low, and some users report banned accounts. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first.

MegaTypers is not a scam. It is a legit data entry site where you earn by typing the text in captcha images.
But the rewards are simply too low, even for a captcha site, and you need an invite code to join. Some users report accounts banned for no apparent reason, and a banned account loses every reward it earned. If your goal is to earn extra cash efficiently, I do not recommend it.

Is MegaTypers legit and safe?
MegaTypers is not a scam: it is a real data entry site. Some users report bad experiences with it, and after testing it myself, I can understand why. Here is what you should know.
- Bans for no apparent reason
The most common complaints are about getting banned for no reason, even by members who did everything right. When you are banned, you lose every reward you have earned.
- A fast timer and a strict ban rule
A timer runs on every image. If time runs out, you are kicked out, and 10 kick-outs within 24 hours get your account banned. The time runs a bit fast compared to other captcha sites, and many images are hard to read. If you are not focused, there is a great chance your account ends up banned.
- Poor support
Users report that they get no reply to their inquiry, or that MegaTypers closes the support ticket without solving the issue. Break the help desk rules, and MegaTypers can permanently suspend your account for support requests.
- Very low pay
1,000 captchas paid $0.50 to $0.60 in Typer Credits when I tested it. That is a very low rate, even for a captcha site.
- Confusing information
You need an invitation code to join, and there is no FAQ or contact info until after you register. MegaTypers says you cannot change your payout method later, but you can change it in your profile settings.
My takeIf your main goal is to earn extra cash efficiently, then I don’t recommend you join MegaTypers.com. Although it offers a very simple way to earn, the rewards you will earn are simply too low. You will have to invest a lot of time just to earn a decent amount.
How you earn on MegaTypers
There are 2 ways to earn. Solving captchas is the main one. Tap one to read more.
Solving captchas$0.50 to $0.60 per 1,000
You type the text shown in each image and press Enter, with the correct case for every letter. If only part of an image is readable, type the readable part. If it is completely unreadable, click “DON’T KNOW”.
You can work in the web version or in the Typer Solver software, which loads images a lot faster. To earn as much as you can, install Typer Solver.
A timer runs on top of every image. If time runs out, you are kicked out, and 10 kick-outs within 24 hours get your account banned. To take a break, type the text and click SUBMIT AND PAUSE. That is the only way to pause.
Log in at the preferred time shown when you log in, because then there are more captchas to solve. The time changes from time to time.
Affiliate program10% of referral earnings
You earn 10% of what your referrals earn. MegaTypers pays it, so it is not deducted from their earnings.
You create an affiliate code and share it. You can create 10 codes, and each can be used an unlimited number of times. Your referral enters the code at registration. At least 5 of your referrals must be paid before you receive your affiliate payment.
How much can you make?
You do not earn a lot from solving captchas, and even for a captcha site, MegaTypers gives low pay. It takes A LOT of patience to earn.
On top of Typer Credits, you earn Typer Points for accuracy. If you are among the top 200 most accurate members, your Typer Points from the day before are multiplied by 3. If you are also among the top 200 solving below 7 seconds, you get one more multiplier, so x4 in total. But 1 Typer Point is only $0.01, so it is not a huge boost. You only reach the 50-point requirement a lot quicker.

Payment is automatic every Monday. If you reach the threshold by Sunday at 11:59 pm, you receive your earnings through the method you chose. Perfect Money is also an option. If not, you wait another week. Typer Points are converted to Typer Credits when you cash out, once you have 50 of them.
You choose your payout method when you register, and MegaTypers says you cannot change it later. In fact, you can change it in your profile settings. Overall, the payout options are too rigid and complicated, in my opinion. For a simpler option, see the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.
