The short answer

Valued Opinions is legit and NOT a scam. It is run by Dynata, a reputable market research company, and it gives decent rewards in relation to the time spent.

But you cannot get paid in cash: rewards are gift cards and charity donations. It is only available in around 20 countries, and readers have reported suspended accounts and cashout errors, mostly between 2020 and 2022.

What I like
  • A reputable company is behind it
  • Member of several market research governing bodies
  • You can actually earn on the site
  • A good number of surveys, sometimes daily
  • Very simple and easy to use
  • Badges give a bonus of up to 10% on your weekly earnings
What I don’t like
  • You cannot get paid in cash
  • You will not qualify for all surveys
  • The support system could need some improvement
  • Only available in around 20 countries
  • Readers report suspended accounts and cashout errors

Is Valued Opinions legit and safe?

Yes, Valued Opinions is legit and NOT a scam. A reputable company is behind it, and you can actually earn on it. But readers have reported problems you should know about.

  • Readers report suspended accounts

Between 2020 and 2022, several readers told me their accounts were suspended for having more than one account or for inaccurate answers, and that they lost their balance. They said support only sent a standard email. I have never had problems with Dynata panels myself, and many others tell me they love Valued Opinions.

  • Cashout errors

In 2021 and 2022, readers reported an error message when they tried to redeem their rewards. Only support can help with this.

  • ID and a selfie at cashout

Readers report that Valued Opinions asks for an ID and a selfie when you cash out. That is quite normal on survey sites, which see a lot of fraud. Only share what you are comfortable sharing.

  • No cash

Valued Opinions pays in gift cards and charity donations, not through PayPal. If you only want cash, join other sites.

  • You will not qualify for every survey

That is the case on most survey sites. It can take a bit of patience to find the surveys you qualify for.

My takeValued Opinions does work, and it is a safe and legit way to earn rewards by sharing your opinion. Gift cards can, in my opinion, be as good as cash. If you would like to earn some gift cards and live in one of the available countries, Valued Opinions is definitely worth considering. If you only want survey sites that pay in cash, join other sites instead.

Want cash instead of gift cards? These survey sites in your country pay through PayPal.

How you earn on Valued Opinions

There are 2 ways to earn, and badges add a bonus. Surveys are where most of the money comes from. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysMain earner
Available surveys on Valued Opinions

Join, confirm your email address, and fill out your member profile. The profile does not pay, but it helps you get matched with more surveys.

You get email invitations, and you can also log in to see the available surveys. Some surveys are only on the site, so check it regularly. Each survey shows the estimated time, the topic and the reward. In some countries you might get daily surveys.

Diary studies and focus groupsPays more

Sometimes you are offered a diary study, where you fill out a bit of information every day over a period, or a focus group interview, where you discuss a topic in a group.

They take more effort than a survey, but they also pay more. You are always told the topic, the time and the reward before you say yes.

BadgesUp to 10% bonus
Valued Opinions badges

There are five levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You move up as you earn more. For example, Silver needs a total of $10, and Diamond around $75. This can vary per country.

Each level gives you a bonus percentage of your weekly earnings. Diamond gives the highest bonus: 10%.

How much can you make?

Valued Opinions is not a way to make a full-time income. It is an easy and risk-free way to earn some extra rewards, if you have the right expectations.

It gives a good number of opportunities, and the surveys are often interesting. You will not qualify for every survey, so it takes a bit of patience. To earn as much as possible, also join other survey sites.

  1. Hello Mikael,

I have been seeing many reviews lately about the verification process that is required for cashout. Why all of sudden they are asking people to submit verification Photo ID and government ID just for cashout?. They didn’t give any notice about this before.is it mandatory for all or only for some accounts?
Did you get any message like that to submit photo ID?. They already asking mobile number for verification everytime for cashing out and that’s enough to secure our account.

    Reply
    • They do this to avoid fraud as there are a lot of fraud on survey sites. They have likely seen a spike in fraud and therefore had to do extra verifications – that is my guess.

      Reply
        • In general, more or less all survey sites will ask for verification at some point. As long as you are sure you use the legit sites, you should be fine. But only share what you are comfortable sharing.

I am from India and working on valued opinions since 3 years. I never had this error . Were you able to get surveys ?

  5. I too am having problems with valued opinions. Keep getting an error message when trying to redeem my rewards. Contacted customer support, only a standard email response, no follow up and all of a sudden are not receiving any more surveys to complete l. It’s a total scam. Also they kept asking me to allow them to use my location and collect data which seems dodgy also.

    • Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I would suggest you just use other sites instead if this is not working for you.

As for asking for your location, then this is very normal when it comes to market research as this is an important part of getting the right participants and matching you with surveys.

  6. Hello Mikael You are a good person. I have a problem. I am in a banned country in the survey sites and I want to work on valuedopinions. I used a US proxy and registered but it didn’t work. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much, please reply

    • using VPN on survey and Get-Paid-To sites is fraud and you hurt a lot of people and businesses by doing this. Also, most sites have strict security so they will find out when you use VPN and they will block you and you will lose your earnings. So if you want to use these sites, you have to do it honestly and stick to sites that are available in your country.

  7. Once upon a time this was a good panel. I always got paid. Then Dynata took over this panel and e-Rewards. I too received emails for both panels stating I wasn’t honest and that I had more than one account and because of that, my account was flagged and suspended. I’ve already contacted BBB.org and suggest anyone who reads this do the same. I also contacted the local Attorney General in Texas where Dynata is located and filed a complaint. If we can get some government agencies to intervene, we may see our money! I’m a USA user.

    • Sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing.

Did you contact their support after you got suspended to check it was an error?

      Reply
      • I contacted their support numerous times. They keep sending me the standard email hundreds of others received when they got suspended. I know it’s the exact same email because some members chose to share the email on these reviews sites. Are you aaaociated with them in any capacity? Mikael? Dynata did this to me on e-Rewards as well and I was a Diamond member, top tier, for over ten years. After Dynata took over these sites, that’s when everyone’s troubles began. It was then I found out they owned Opinion Outpost and did that to me as well. Dynata is a very dishonest company!

        • Sorry to hear that Mary.

I will happily allow you to share your frustrations and experience here as I understand how frustrating it can be. I have tried the same with some sites. However, personally, I have never had problems with Dynata panels and I have received feedback from many others on my website and YouTube channel that love Valued Opinions.

But no doubt it seems like they could improve their customer service.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences here – but please do not accuse me of anything. If you look around my website and on my reviews, you will see I give details (also cons) of platforms no other website owner give. So please do not take your frustrations out on me as I am putting a lot of effort into giving in-depth info that help people.

If I was a part of the company as you suggest, I would just not allow any negative comments on my website. But as long as it is kept in a proper tone, I welcome when people share both positive and negative experiences – even if they are not the same experiences as mine as I think it is great people can see different experiences on my website.

          Reply
          • Oh sorry Mikael. I only asked a question if you had a connection. I wasn’t implying anything. I didn’t mean to offend you in any way. It’s good that someone offers both the pros and cons of any survey site. That is the fairest thing to do. I never had a problem with Valued Opinions, e-Rewards or Opinion Outpost in the past and always got paid. That is until now—when Dynata took over and accused hundreds of members of being dishonest and literally stealing the money in their accounts.

          • Sorry, I misunderstood your intentions. I just often experience people take their frustrations out on me and in this case I jumped to conclusions. I apologize for that.

Unfortunately, I do not have anyone I can contact about this but will still see if I can manage to find someone. You are talking about Valued Opinions in the US, right? Because I might be able to find a contact for other countries I can ask but not sure about the US. But will do my best.

  8. I was suddenly suspended with no warning and was given two excuses for the suspension. I had multiple accounts (not true!) and for inaccuracy (really?). Now Valued Opinions are ignoring my emails and are withholding my over $100 earnings. I spent so much time responding to these surveys only to be kicked to the curb. Don’t sign up with these folks!

    Reply
    • Sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing your experiences about this. Which country did you sign up from? Because Valued Opinions has different panels in different countries so would be great to know which one you had this experience with.
