I tested OpinionWorld myself and was paid several times through PayPal. Some readers report accounts closed at cashout, and my own account was closed too, most likely because I logged in from abroad. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first.
Legit and pays, but few surveys and strict account rules
A basic Dynata survey panel with PayPal from around $5. Few surveys, and poor support in some countries.

The short answer
OpinionWorld is a legit survey panel owned by Dynata, the company behind Opinion Outpost. I have been paid by OpinionWorld several times. It is easy to use, and you can cash out to PayPal from around $5.
But some readers report that OpinionWorld closed their account when they tried to redeem their points, and my own account was closed too, most likely because I logged in from another country. Support did not give a reason. It also has fewer surveys than other sites, and the rewards are lower for the time you spend. Use it as an extra site, and cash out as soon as you can.
- Easy to use
- Low payout threshold: around $5 to PayPal
- Pays out through PayPal, or gift cards and webshops
- Available in around 36 countries and languages
- A charity donation from OpinionWorld for each survey, on top of your reward
- Some readers report accounts closed when they try to redeem
- Customer service is poor in some countries
- Not very many survey opportunities
- Rewards in relation to time are lower than on the top sites
- Logging in from another country can get your account closed
My experience with OpinionWorld
I was a member of OpinionWorld, took surveys and was paid several times, until my account was closed. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

An inside look at OpinionWorld
I have been paid by OpinionWorld several times through PayPal. It took 1–2 days each time before the reward was in my PayPal. In the video below, I give you an inside look at the site.

OpinionWorld pays, but it has few surveys. These survey sites are a better place to start.

Is OpinionWorld legit and safe?
OpinionWorld is owned by an experienced company, and I have been paid several times. But legit does not mean problem-free. Here is what you should know before you join.
- Readers report accounts closed at cashout
From 2019 to 2024, several readers told me OpinionWorld suspended or closed their account when they tried to redeem their points. When they asked why, they were only referred to the terms and conditions. Cash out as soon as you reach the minimum.
- Never log in from another country
You are not allowed to log in or take surveys from a different country than where you signed up. My own account was closed without a message, most likely because I logged in while on holiday. OpinionWorld is strict about this.
- You may have to verify your identity
A reader reports that OpinionWorld asked for an ID document and a photo before they could redeem their points. Many survey sites ask for some kind of verification to prevent fraud.
- Support is poor in some countries
Each country has its own customer service. In my country, support only gave short answers and no reason for closing my account. Staff from other countries gave me nice and helpful answers.
My takeOpinionWorld is a legit survey site, and it can be a good survey panel to join as an extra site. But read the terms and conditions, do NOT log in while you are traveling, and cash out as soon as you can so you do not lose your earnings if something should happen. In general, other survey sites give more opportunities.
How you earn on OpinionWorld
Paid surveys are the only real way to earn. The prize draw and charity donations come on top. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveys10–15 min each
You sign up, confirm your email, and start taking surveys. In most cases, you get an email invite when a new survey is available. In my test, the invites did not always come, so log in regularly and check for surveys yourself.
You see the reward before you choose a survey. Most surveys take 10 to 15 minutes. How many surveys you get depends a lot on your country. It is not one of the sites with the most opportunities, but it has a good amount.
You can also find OpinionWorld surveys on other platforms, such as ySense.
Quarterly prize drawLuck only
In some countries, every survey you take gives you an entry into a quarterly prize draw worth up to $10,000. The prize depends on your country, and the draw is not available everywhere. Some surveys give you only a draw entry and no points.
Like any lottery, it is not easy to win. Do not join just for the draw.
Donations to charitiesNot from your reward
In some countries, after you complete a survey, you choose a charity, and OpinionWorld donates to it. It is not taken from your reward. OpinionWorld does not say how big the donation is.
How much can you make?
The rewards in relation to the time you spend are not quite as high as on the top paying survey sites. But they are decent compared to other survey sites, and the payout threshold is easy to reach.
Do not join OpinionWorld as your only survey site, because you will not get very many earning opportunities. Paid surveys are not a way to make a full-time income online. They are a nice way to make some extra cash.
Payout methods and minimums
| Method | Minimum | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Around $5, depending on your country | 1–2 days after I requested it |
| Gift cards and webshops | Depends on your country | Depends on the reward |
You earn points for each survey and exchange them for cash through PayPal, gift cards, or use them in webshops. Which gift cards and webshops you get depends on your country.
Cash out as soon as you reach the minimum, so you do not lose your points if something happens to your account. For more sites with cash payouts, see the survey sites that pay through PayPal.

A reader was asked for an ID document and a photo before redeeming. Most survey sites ask for some kind of verification to prevent fraud.
When I cashed out, the reward was in my PayPal 1–2 days after I requested it.
“After completing the first payout and just close to second payout (490 Points), my account was suspended for no reason. I requested for a valid reason, but I was only referred to ‘Terms and Conditions’.”
Mikael: As I mention in the review above, I have also had bad experiences with their support. That is definitely something they should work on, in my opinion.
“In order to redeem ones currently accumulated points one has to submit evidence of who you are with documentation ie passport / drivers license etc”
Mikael: many survey sites have a lot of fraud so they have to take extra measurements to prevent scams, and that means most sites will ask for ID verification in some way.
“5 days later now apparently the reward is processed on their site but no paypal funds in paypal yet. Is it meant to be instant or how long is the wait?”
Mikael: It usually goes pretty fast once you have requested the payout. The times I have done it, it has only taken 1-2 days before the reward was in my PayPal.

Great job
Thanks.
This is a sham company. After completing the first payout and just close to second payout (490 Points), my account was suspended for no reason. I requested for a valid reason, but I was only referred to ‘Terms and Conditions’. This is unacceptable since I had spent enough time on the surveys. Suspending an account when I reached payout points is a totally unprofessional attitude. I had high regard for OpinionWorld but it has shattered my faith.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. As I mention in the review above, I have also had bad experiences with their support. That is definitely something they should work on, in my opinion.
In order to redeem ones currently accumulated points one has to submit evidence of who you are with documentation ie passport / drivers license etc which are important identity documents plus screen shot photo of oneself I my country Australia we are constantly being informed by our govt never to hand over ones identity documents to unknown people very unsafe practice
I contacted opinion world re same and I did receive a prompt reply reassuring me that because of cyber crime they have implemented this safe guard via Dynata
Consequently to this date I cannot redeem my points
I did reply to this email and my concerns but not had a reply since
Unfortuantely, many survey sites have a lot of fraud so they have to take extra measurements to prevent scams, and that means most sites will ask for ID verification in some way. I understand you concern, but you should expect most sites will ask for verification before paying you. But luckily many will not ask you to share personal documents.
After spending considerable time completing surveys from Opinion World, I made over 1000 points and tried to redeem them. Strangely my account was terminated allegedly I violated terms and conditions of company. It is strange they terminated just when to attempted to redeem my points. I contacted to help desk and after nearly 10 days I was told I violated their terms. This is a SCAM company.
My concern is the other people who may rely on this company.
NEVER EVER TRUST IT! IT IS A SCAMMER!
Thanks for sharing this. Sorry to hear that. I have actually been paid by OpinionWorld but it is important to note that it has different platforms for differnt countries. No doubt the support could be better in some countries and it seems your country is one of them.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
This survey is sh#t. Not reliable at all. It suddenly terminated my account without prior notice. This survey company should not be exist anymore.
Sorry to hear that Jonathan.
But thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us.
Although Opinion World is not a scam exactly (in that i have received 2 vouchers) once you have hit this threshold they cancel your account. They will let you to continue doing surveys until you go to claim another voucher, and then they cancel your account claiming you have violated their terms. (which they have no evidence even after asking for proof) I had this happen to me the first time and after countless emails they reinstated my account. I then immediately went to spend the points i had previously earned (so not to lose them again, worth around $40), which resulted in my account being suspended again. I have read online they do this after you have earned more then 2 rewards with them. DO NOT USE! they will suspend your account without warning as soon as you go to spend your reward points.
Thanks for sharing your experience Prue.
Sorry to hear you had a poor experience. I have heard other people having their account suddenly banned as well. But I have also heard people getting paid several times without problems, so I do not think it is a deliberate choice to ban you once you have earned several rewards. Where have you read this info/rumor?
Mikael
I have read several people’s reviews of the site and most say the same thing. After a certain amount of reward claims, their account is suddenly banned, and they do not honor the previously earned rewards. They also never provide any evidence or specific reason of why that person is banned, which is suspicious in itself. Although it wouldn’t be official, I do think it is a deliberate choice of Opinion World to do this after several reward claims, as there are too many people saying so for it to be coincidence or a random glitch.
Thanks for the extra info Prue. Appreciate you sharing your experiences.
Don’t bother signing up. As soon as you try to withdraw points, they suspend and delete your account. Scam!
Thanks for sharing your experience Nathan.
Sometimes an account can be banned. That can happen on all survey sites if they somehow feel you have violated their terms. I, however, know how frustrating this can be – especially if it comes without warning.
I have, however, been paid by OpinionWorld myself several times so I know it is not a scam. I cannot say what happened in your case but I would suggest you contact their support and try to get an answer.
Mikael
While ive never heard about this program before, it doesn’t seem that great of an opportunity to join.
I mean sure the payout is low — but that just means you don’t make much per survey. And since I value my dime — I think I could find much better ways to make money online.
Also with customer service not being good doesn’t help.
So I’ll skip this and look for a better program to join. Thank you. 🙂
You are welcome Michael.
If you are looking to make a full-time income, OpinionWorld is definitely not for you.
Hope you find a site that is right for you.
Mikael
I have heard about this before but your review was a real eye-opener. I have come across many people who are interested in earning an income online who navigate towards these paid-survey type business models because they feel like they do not have enough experience in sales and online marketing. I think the reality of your experience and the points that you made about the questionable customer service will really give people a valuable insight as to how this opportunity works.
Thanks for you comment Jon.
As you can see from above, OpinionWorld is not one of my preferred survey sites, but I must say that in general I do like survey sites. It will not be something to make a living from, but it can be some nice extra cash. And at the same time, it is also a great way to have your opinion heard and contribute with your input, so it is not only about the money for me. But the money I make on it is of course a big bonus, and also a big reason I do participate:-)
But to get something out of it both in terms of money and having your opinion heard, it is just important to join the good survey sites and not expect to get rich from it. If you do that, I think that survey sites are a great opportunity.
Mikael
Had to call them after 5 days because i still could’nt cashout as the account was still in new account review for 72 hrs. 5 days later now apparently the reward is processed on their site but no paypal funds in paypal yet. Is it meant to be instant or how long is the wait?
Hi Calen,
It usually goes pretty fast once you have requested the payout. The times I have done it, it has only taken 1-2 days before the reward was in my PayPal. So you should receive it very soon. If not, you might have to contact their customer service again.
