I tested IntelliZoom to see if its paid user testing studies are worth your time. It has since merged with UserTesting, so you now earn through the UserTesting platform. Below is how it works, what readers report, and which sites I recommend instead.
Legit, but now part of UserTesting, with few studies and no guaranteed approval
Around $5 to $10 or more per study, paid to PayPal. Few studies, hard to qualify, and your work must be approved.

The short answer
IntelliZoom is legit, but it no longer exists as a separate site. It was bought by UserTesting and merged into the UserTesting platform. You can log in to UserTesting with your IntelliZoom details, and you join UserTesting if you want to earn from it now.
The studies pay relatively well, and you are paid to PayPal without a threshold. But there are few studies, it can be hard to qualify, and there is no guarantee your work is approved. If it is not approved, you are not paid. I suggest other sites if you want to earn regularly.
- Fairly high rewards per study
- Payment is made via PayPal
- No payout threshold
- Studies usually take 10 to 20 minutes
- Limited earning opportunities
- About 14 days before the payment reaches PayPal
- It can be hard to qualify for tests and surveys
- No guarantee your work is approved
- Readers report that support is hard to reach
My experience with IntelliZoom
I signed up for IntelliZoom, looked at the paid studies, the profile and the support options, and made a video about it. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

An inside look at IntelliZoom
In the video below, I show how you could earn from IntelliZoom before it merged with UserTesting. It is an inside look, not payment proof.

IntelliZoom has few studies, and approval is not guaranteed. The top sites in your country give you more ways to earn.

Is IntelliZoom legit and safe?
Yes, IntelliZoom is legit and pays you for user testing studies. But since I first tested it, a lot has changed, and many people complain about it. Here is what you should know.
- It merged with UserTesting
IntelliZoom was bought by UserTesting. To earn from it now, you go to the UserTesting site and log in with your IntelliZoom details, or join UserTesting. See my UserTesting review.
- No guarantee your work is approved
Your work is reviewed before you are paid. If it is not approved, you do not get paid. In 2023, readers here reported studies that were not approved, including an hour-long video call.
- Fewer studies, harder to qualify
I have seen quite a few people complain that IntelliZoom offers fewer and fewer tests and that it has become harder to qualify. It can take patience to earn.
- You need to be on video
Most studies ask you to record a video of your feedback, and some need a microphone or webcam. If you do not like being on video, this is not for you.
- Support is hard to reach
A complaint I hear quite regularly in comments here and elsewhere online is that it is hard to get support. I have not needed support myself.
My takeThe best thing about IntelliZoom is that it pays relatively well. You can earn a decent amount by making a video, without a payout threshold. But there is no guarantee your work is approved, it can be hard to qualify, and the payment takes around 14 days. If you want to earn on a regular basis, I suggest the top survey sites in your country instead.
How you earn on IntelliZoom
There is one main way to earn: paid user testing studies. You sometimes also find paid surveys.
User testing studiesAround $5 to $10+
You see the available studies when you log in, and you get an email when there are new ones. Each study tells you what to do, which devices you need, such as a microphone or webcam, and what you get for it.
Most studies ask you to record a video of your review of a product. They usually take 10 to 20 minutes. Video studies pay around $10 or more, and simpler ones around $5. Studies are only open for a short time, so complete them as soon as you can.
You then submit your work for review. You are only paid when it is approved.
Paid surveysFew
You can sometimes find paid surveys inside IntelliZoom, but there are not many compared to the top survey sites. See the best paid survey sites in your country if you mainly want surveys.
How much can you make?
It mostly depends on how many studies you are offered. Complete your profile first, so IntelliZoom knows which studies to send you.
The main downside is the lack of earning opportunities. On the other hand, it pays relatively well per study. So if you get a fairly good number of study offers, you can earn a decent amount.
But your work has to be approved, and there is no guarantee it will be. People also report fewer and fewer tests, and that it is harder to qualify. So it can take patience to earn.
How you get paid
| Method | Minimum | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | No threshold | About 14 days after the study |
Every approved study is paid to PayPal, the only payout method. Sign up with the same email address as your PayPal account, or add that email address to your PayPal account later. If PayPal is not available in your country, there is no point joining.
For sites that pay through PayPal faster, see the top survey sites that pay via PayPal.
What readers told me
This review has 8 comments since 2023: 4 from readers and 4 replies from me. Every reader comment is about studies that were not approved.
In February to April 2023, readers reported several studies that were not approved and not paid, including a $60 hour-long video call, and no direct way to reach customer service.
“The IntelliZoom Panel just disappointed me when they refused to pay for an 1 hour long video call that paid $60.”
Mikael: It can happen but is definitely frustrating. You should make sure to contact their support and ask for an explanation.

Who checked IntelliZoom for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with IntelliZoom, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
Hi Mikael,
IntelliZoom and this website is about to get heavily SUED by me and thousands others. It’s no coincidence since I posted that comment last month that every study I participated in got REJECTED. I got proof to show the authorities and a pattern. Intellizoom and this website is interconnected and a 100% FRAUD. I have social media on my side to get attention, European dummies!
I understand you are frustrated and you are more than welcome to share your experience with IntelliZoom here but please do not make unjust accusations against me. I have nothing to do with IntelliZoom and have no cooperation with them. And I welcome anyone to share negative or positive experiences about them here – do you think those negative comments would really be allowed if IntelliZoom really had anything to say as you accuse me of? Also, do you really think I work with them since I only give them 2.5 star and even say that I suggest people to use other options instead? An accusation like that does not make sense.
As mentioned, I understand you are frustrated but it is not fair to take it out on me who has just shared my experiences and have nothing to do with them.
I always listen to the feedback I get here in my comment section and you are not the only one that has had problems with them recently and I am planning to soon update the review and include info about this in it.
So feel free to keep sharing your experiences here as I love hearing from my readers and it really helps others to hear these experiences so they know what they need to be aware of. But please be fair and keep it in a proper tone and please do not take your frustrations out on me.
They didn’t APPROVE another study. I take notes of every study I participate in and I follow all the requirements with excellent explanations along with being extremely articulate. The problem is Intellizoom don’t have an customer service email where you can reach out to them directly, nor a toll-free umber where you can speak to someone in customer service. So in essence, they can invite you to participate and you complete the activity and deny payment to any member. All they provide participants is their address; 1801 Broadway, Suite 720, Denver, CO 80202
I’m going to take this a step further because you don’t intentionally waste my time completing studies and don’t payout participants. This is a pure definition of poor business practices that need to be investigated by a State’s Attorney Office. Stay Tuned!
Thanks for sharing. Keep us updated about how it goes.
The Intellizoom Panel has finally gone bonkers. The last few studies I’ve completed were all NOT APPROVED. Even the $5 studies where you do a simple sorting of topics haven’t been approved and you usually can depend on those for payment. Now this recent one that paid $8 was not accepted and that never happened the last few months. Even in the month of January and February I made close to $300 participating in studies and I never received an email stating my participation wasn’t approved. I don’t know if they’re going through financial troubles but my last five studies were rejected and I wasted a little over an hour of my time competing. I wonder if other participants are having similar problems because this sets up as a lawsuit waiting to happen. As I stated previously, I participated in an hour long video call with a facilitator that suppose to pay in the sum of $60 that was rejected. Not even a partial payment. If they don’t like my responses anymore why don’t the let me and have me not participate? I will not waste another minute on their site. Their accuse below to reject participation is a bunch of hot air.
We’re sorry to inform you that your participation in the study C5997**** hasn’t been approved and you won’t receive the study’s incentive.
This may be a result of one or more of the following scenarios:
You may have not been thinking out loud as required.
You may have not spent enough time performing the required tasks or questionnaires.
The technical quality of your participation may have been poor or incomplete due to one or more of these reasons:
Poor internet connection.
Poor microphone or camera quality.
Poor overall quality as a result of too many windows, tabs or apps running at the same time on your device.
To avoid this from happening again in the future, please review these best practice recommendations in our Help Center.
Don’t get discouraged! Next time, make sure your device is ready for the study and do your best to provide top-quality feedback.
Kind regards,
IntelliZoom Panel Team
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
The IntelliZoom Panel just disappointed me when they refused to pay for an 1 hour long video call that paid $60. The email stated my participation hasn’t been approved. I did it with one of their European interviewers a few ago. I just reviewed an IKEA website and offered my strengths and weakness which wasn’t too complicated or difficult to evaluate. I wonder if they’ve done this to other participants in hour long video calls?
Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion. It can happen but is definitely frustrating. You should make sure to contact their support and ask for an explanation. Let me know how it goes.
