Is Field Voices Legit or a Scam? (Full Details + Rating)

Field Voices Rating

Field Voices is not a bad site to earn rewards. However, you must head in with the proper expectations. It’s not something you can regularly earn from, but it does pay well per study.

I tested Field Voices to see if its paid research studies are worth your time. It is legit and pays well per study, but there are not many studies. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

The short answer

Field Voices is legit. You can really earn by taking part in its research studies, and it pays a decent amount per study.

But there are not many studies available, so it is hard to earn from it regularly. You can consider yourself lucky if you get one study per month. It works best as a secondary site, and mainly if you live in the US.

What I like
  • No payout threshold
  • Offers high rewards per study
  • You usually get paid within a few days and not more than a week
  • Email invites when a study matches your profile
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Most opportunities are for people in the US
  • Most studies need a computer or a visit to a location
  • Usually paid in Tango gift cards, not cash
  • A rather long registration form

Is Field Voices legit and safe?

Yes, Field Voices is legit, because you can really earn by taking part in a study. But that does not automatically make it worth your time. Here is what you should know before you sign up.

  • There are few studies

When I tested it, there were not many studies available, and the most common type was online surveys. That makes it hard to earn from it reliably.

  • No pay for the qualifying questions

You answer qualifying questions for every study. If you do not qualify, you move on to the next study and earn nothing for your answers.

  • Mostly for the US

The site says it is available overseas. But most opportunities are for people in the US, and with so few studies, earning from outside the US is next to impossible, in my opinion.

  • Studies take real time

Every study except online surveys takes two hours or more. Some focus groups are in person, so you have to travel to a location.

  • Gift cards, not cash

You are usually paid in Tango gift cards. You can turn them into various other gift cards, but not into cash.

My takeIn my opinion, Field Voices is not a bad site for earning rewards. However, you must head in with the proper expectations in terms of how much you can earn from it to avoid getting disappointed. It is not something you can regularly earn from, but it does pay well per study. That is why I suggest you make it a secondary site to earn from.

How you earn on Field Voices

There is only one way to earn: research studies.

Research studies$5 to $100+ per study
Research studies on Field Voices

Once you are a member, you get an email every time a study that matches your profile becomes available. You can also check the Current Studies section on the site and apply for a study yourself.

For every study, you answer a set of qualifying questions to see if you are the right person for it. If you do not qualify, you just move on to the next study. You do not earn anything for the qualifying questions.

The studies are online surveys, user testing, focus groups (in person and online) and in-depth interviews, usually over the phone or online. Every study except online surveys takes two hours or more, so set aside the time if you are accepted. After you complete a study, you receive the promised reward.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on how many studies you can take part in. And there are not a lot of studies available, so it is not a great option if you want something you can earn from regularly.

The pay per study depends on the type of study. Online surveys pay around $5 to $10. Focus groups and one-on-one interviews pay significantly more ($100+).

So the site pays a decent amount per study, but its earning potential is not that great because of the limited opportunities. You can consider yourself lucky if you get to take part in one study per month.

How you get paid

MethodMinimumSpeed
Tango gift cardNone. Paid per study.Usually within a few days, not more than a week
Other methodsNone. Paid per study.Only for a few studies

For every study you complete, you receive the promised reward, usually as a Tango gift card. You can turn it into various other gift cards. Some studies use a different payout method, but that is rare.

Because you are paid for every study, there is no payout threshold to reach. Overall, the payout system is relatively straightforward, and I like that there is no threshold. For more sites with a low or no threshold, see the fastest paying sites.

Joining, mobile use and support

To join, you fill out a relatively long registration form. After you submit it, you are a member of the panel. When a study fits your profile, you get an invite by email, so check your inbox regularly.

You can only use your phone for online surveys, and even those are more convenient on a computer. For everything else, you need a computer, or you have to go to a certain location.

The FAQ section only covers a few topics, so you will most likely have to contact support with your questions. Click the Contact link at the top of the website and fill out the form, or email info@fieldvoices.com.

  1. Hi Mikael, great review! Thanks for helping spread the word about Field Voices. Quick note on the payout “con”: our standard turnaround is actually just a few days to less than a week after a study ends. Our participants frequently highlight quick payouts as a major plus in our 4.9-star Google reviews! Would you mind updating that section so readers have our exact payout speeds? Thanks for running such a thorough and informative platform! Best regards, the Field Voices team.

  2. This is a mixed-use neighborhood with both residential and commercial units. The Post Office classifies our address as residential because there’s an on-site living space alongside the businesses—a standard setup for properties in this area. Great question, though!
