FF Focus Group Review – Worth it or Not? (An Honest Look)

FF Focus Group Rating

FF Focus Group is not a bad site to earn extra cash from. However, you should only join this site if you set your expectations correctly to avoid getting disappointed. The site doesn’t offer many earning opportunities, so you can’t expect to earn from it regularly.

I took an inside look at FF Focus Group to see if its focus groups and surveys are worth your time. It is legit and some studies pay well, but there are few of them. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend if you want to earn regularly.

Partially Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit and pays well per study, but few opportunities

US only. Focus groups can pay $100 to $300, but they are rare. Survey points cash out from $20, no PayPal.

The short answer

FF Focus Group is legit. It really pays you for online and in-person focus groups, paid surveys and other market research. Studies that need a longer commitment pay relatively well.

But there are not many earning opportunities, so you cannot expect to earn from it regularly. Focus groups and interviews are rare, and survey points only cash out from $20, as a prepaid Visa card. There is no PayPal. It is only for US residents.

Is FF Focus Group legit and safe?

Yes, FF Focus Group is legit, because it really pays you. But that does not automatically mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know.

  • Few earning opportunities

Most studies are surveys. Focus groups and interviews are few, because clients usually only request them every three to six months, sometimes once a year. So you cannot expect to earn regularly.

  • First come, first served

Every study has a maximum number of participants. Even if you are eligible, you are disqualified once the study is full. So apply quickly when a study comes up.

  • Some studies need several sessions

Some focus groups and interviews need multiple sessions, and you have to take part in all of them to earn the reward.

  • Slow rewards and a high threshold

For focus groups and interviews, the virtual Visa card usually arrives six to eight weeks after the study. Survey points only cash out from 20,000 points ($20), and there is no PayPal.

My takeIn my opinion, FF Focus Group is not a bad site to earn extra cash from. However, only join if you set your expectations correctly, so you do not get disappointed. It does not offer many earning opportunities, so you cannot expect to earn from it regularly. And it does not offer PayPal. If you are fine with both, it can be worth signing up.

How you earn on FF Focus Group

There is only one way to earn: research studies. They come in several types.

Research studies$1 to $300
The types of research studies on FF Focus Group

Log in to the member dashboard to see the studies you can take part in. You can also follow FF Focus Group’s Twitter page for the latest opportunities. The types vary: online surveys and focus groups, phone interviews, in-person interviews, online diaries, bulletin boards and product testing. Surveys are the most common.

To take part, you apply first. You go through a screening with questions about your profile. If your answers match and the study is not full yet, you qualify and get instructions. For paid surveys, you answer the actual survey.

For phone or in-person interviews, eligibility is decided beforehand. If someone calls to ask if you want to take part, you have already qualified, and it is up to you to proceed.

Surveys usually pay around $1 to $5 (1,000 to 5,000 points). Some also give you an entry to the monthly sweepstakes, where you can win 250,000 points. Studies that need a longer commitment usually pay around $100 to $300.

How much can you make?

It depends on how often you can complete research studies. FF Focus Group pays relatively well, especially for studies that need a longer commitment. For those, you can usually earn around $100 to $300.

But those opportunities are quite rare, and even if you get invited, there is no guarantee you qualify. So in my opinion, it is not something you can depend on to earn regularly.

Overall, the rewards are decent, but there are not a lot of opportunities, so the earning potential is not that good. If you get into studies with a longer commitment, it goes up a lot.

How you get paid

Focus groups and interviewsVirtual Visa cardUsually six to eight weeks after the study
In-person interviewsCash, a prepaid Visa card or a checkRight after the study
Product testingProductsDepends on the study

The reward for each study is shown in the study offer. The payment system is relatively straightforward, but some options are not that convenient. A prepaid Visa card is just like cash, but I personally prefer PayPal. The 20,000-point threshold is a bit high, so it takes several surveys to reach it.

For sites with a more convenient payout method, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Who can join, and how

FF Focus Group is only available to US residents. If you live somewhere else, this opportunity is not for you.

To register, fill out the sign-up form and click the confirmation link FF Focus Group sends by email. Then log in to the member dashboard and complete your profile right away. That increases your chances of invites to studies.

There is no app, but the site is mobile-friendly. You can look for studies, apply and answer surveys on your phone, which helps because studies are first come, first served. For most other studies, you need a computer.
