I signed up for Contracted AI to see if getting paid to record your daily life is worth it. It is legit, but the rates I was offered were low, and I never heard back after the interview. Below is what I found, and which AI training jobs I recommend instead.
Legit, but low pay for a lot of time and privacy
You record first-person videos of chores for AI training. Open globally, but the rates are low and the payout system is unclear.

The short answer
Contracted AI is legit, because you can really earn from the opportunities it offers. You get paid to record first-person (POV) videos of everyday activities, which are used to train AI.
But the earning potential is relatively low, considering you have to spend a significant amount of time earning. The rates I was offered were $2.60 to $3.50 per hour of footage, and the payout system is not clear. You also share a lot about your home and routine, so think about your privacy before you join.
- Offers a unique and interesting way to earn
- Available globally
- No talking, acting or editing: you submit raw footage
- The app works on Android and iOS
- Confusing payout system
- Low earning potential
- Requires a significant amount of time to earn
- Long application process
- Privacy implications: your footage shows your home and routine
My experience with Contracted AI
I signed up, went through the application steps and looked at the rates and projects I was offered. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

- Checked: projects, rates, application, support
- Rates I was offered

- Signing up with my email and the verification code
- The interview task: installing the app and answering the AI interview
- The projects and the rates shown in the dashboard
- The payout section and the support form in the dashboard
- Recording and submitting footage. I did not find the rates appealing, and I never heard back after the interview.
- A payout. I never reached a point where I had to withdraw my earnings.
My test on video
I have made a video explaining exactly how the platform works, including the rates it showed me per hour of footage. Contracted AI has not paid me, so this video does not show a payout.

Is Contracted AI legit and safe?
Yes, Contracted AI is legit, because you can really earn from it. But just because it is legit does not mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know before you sign up.
- Your footage shows your private life
When you record, you also share information such as your location, your house layout, your daily routine and your environment. If you value your privacy, this is not an ideal option.
- The payout system is unclear
All it says in its payout section is that you can withdraw your earnings to your Whop account. There is no clear information on the payout threshold or how long it takes before your earnings are credited.
- A slow application
After the AI interview, the site reviews your answers. I waited more than two weeks to hear back, and I still had not when I wrote this review.
- Low pay for the time
The rates I was offered were $2.60 to $3.50 per hour of footage, and you have to submit at least 1 hour of footage. That is quite a low rate, in my opinion.
My takeIn my opinion, Contracted.ai is not a bad site. However, it also doesn’t provide a good reason for you to sign up. There is only one way to earn: AI training projects where you record your daily activities.
AI training projectsPer hour of footage
When you join a project, you record real-world POV footage of daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, gardening and other tasks. The footage is used to help train AI systems.
Contracted AI sends you custom capture hardware: a head mount, so you can record from a first-person point of view.
The recordings last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. You will not be asked to talk or act, and you do not have to edit the video. Contracted AI only needs the raw footage. After you submit it, the site reviews it, and if everything checks out, you receive the compensation.

How much can you make?
It depends on your profile and location. When you become a member, the platform shows you the rate it pays per hour of footage.
When I tested the site, the rate I was offered ranged from $2.60 to $3.50 per hour of footage. That is quite a low rate, in my opinion, given that you have to submit at least 1 hour of footage. I did not find the offer appealing because of the low rewards.
Overall, I would say its earning potential is not that great, considering you have to invest a significant amount of time each day to earn.
