I checked out Mindrift to see if its AI training jobs are worth applying for. It is legit and the jobs pay well, but most of them need a specific skill set, and landing one takes patience. Below is what I found, and what I recommend if you do not have those skills.
Legit AI training jobs with good pay, but not for everyone
Interesting part-time jobs and no payout threshold. Most jobs need a specific skill set, and the application process is long.

The short answer
Mindrift is legit. It connects you to paid AI training jobs, and the opportunities it offers really do pay. It is powered by Toloka, which has focused on data and AI training since 2014.
But most jobs require a specific skill set or expertise, so it is not for everyone. The application process is relatively long, and most jobs look for people in specific locations. If you have the skills, it can be a good source of extra cash. If you do not, you are better off with other ways to earn.
- No payout threshold
- Offers good pay
- Interesting jobs
- Payments are processed automatically, twice a month
- You can view all job offers without signing up
- Requires a specific skill set and expertise to earn
- Relatively long application process
- Most job offers are for specific locations
- All jobs are part-time, and you need a computer for the work
- No FAQ or support until you are hired
My experience with Mindrift

Is Mindrift legit and safe?
Yes, Mindrift is legit, because the opportunities it offers really do pay. But that does not automatically mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know before you apply.
- Most jobs need a specific skill set
When I tested the platform, most job offers were for graphic design, coding and subject matter expertise. Jobs that need only general skills are quite rare. You also face a lot of competition for each job.
- Most jobs are for specific locations
Mindrift is available globally, but most job offers look for candidates in specific locations. You can only apply if you see a job offer for your country. If there is none, check back from time to time.
- A long application process
You apply with your phone number and resume. Mindrift only gets in touch if they are interested. Then you take a skills assessment and go through identity verification before you can start.
- No automated tools
Unless a task specifically allows it, you cannot use any automated tools while you work. That is the biggest rule you need to follow.
- Little help before you are hired
The FAQ about the jobs is only for members. Before you are hired, you only have the How it Works section on the website.
My takeIn my opinion, Mindrift is not for everyone. If you have the skills and experience to take on the job offers on the site, this could be a good source of extra cash. You just have to be patient because landing a job can be a bit challenging. The good thing is that the jobs pay well, so if you get hired, you can earn a good amount.

There is only one way to earn: AI training jobs that you apply for.
AI training jobsUsually $15 to $90 per hour
You apply for a job, go through the hiring process, and if you get hired, you go through onboarding. Then you get access to the member dashboard with all your tasks.
The tasks ask you to create, evaluate and refine AI models. You write examples or prompts the AI can learn from, assess how well the AI responds and suggest improvements, and edit or adjust content using your subject knowledge.
You do not need to know about AI to apply, but it is good to know a bit about Large Language Models (LLM), so you understand the reasoning behind the tasks. Unless a task specifically allows it, you cannot use automated tools.
The jobs are remote or in-person, and all of them are part-time. See also the best ways to make money by training AI.
How much can you make?
It depends on how many jobs you get accepted to. Most job offers need a certain skill set, so it can be quite challenging to find the right one for you. And you will not be the only one applying, so expect a lot of competition.
Most job offers pay a competitive amount, usually $15 to $90 per hour. The rate for your tasks is based on your experience and expertise, and you see it immediately.
So the earning potential largely depends on your qualifications and experience. If you have the skills for any of the jobs it offers, the earning potential can be good. This is why I would say it is not for everyone.
How you get paid
| Method | Threshold | Schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Payoneer | None | Automatically on the 5th and 20th of the month |
| Mellow | None | Automatically on the 5th and 20th of the month |
| Papara | None | Automatically on the 5th and 20th of the month |
Every time you complete a task, the pay is credited to your Mindrift account. You do not need to reach a threshold. As long as you earned something in the pay period, Mindrift processes the payment automatically.
I have used Payoneer over the years, so I know it is a convenient method. I have not tried Mellow or Papara, so I cannot say how good they are. For more platforms with this method, see the top sites that pay via Payoneer.
How to apply to Mindrift
Click the “Apply Now” button on the Mindrift website to see all job offers. Pick one you are qualified for and that is open in your country, and apply with your mobile phone number and your resume.
If Mindrift is interested in hiring you, they send you a link to assess your skills and expertise. If you pass, you go through the identity verification process. Then you can join the project or the talent pool and start earning.
It is quite a long process. If you are looking for something you can earn from immediately, this is not the ideal option. Once you are hired, you can download the app for Android or iOS to check tasks, track your progress and withdraw your earnings. For the work itself, you need your computer.
Mindrift alternatives I have reviewed
| Site | Best for | Min. cashout | My rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| RWS TrainAI | AI training jobs that accept beginners, but are hard to land | PayPal or bank transfer, once hired | 3.2 / 5 |
| Outlier AI | Remote AI training work, but task availability is inconsistent | No threshold; paid weekly | 3.1 / 5 |
Do not have the skills for these jobs? See the top survey and GPT sites in your country. They all have good earning potential, and you will find a site or app you can join regardless of your skills and experience.
