I tested 2Captcha.com to see if solving captchas is worth your time. It is legit and it pays, but the rewards are very low, and you do not know what your captchas are used for. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Legit, but the pay is so low that it is a waste of time
Around $0.3 to $1.01 per 1,000 captchas. 2Captcha itself says you can expect $0.50 for 1 to 2 hours of work.

The short answer
2Captcha.com is legit. It will pay you to solve captchas, the work is very simple, and you can cash out from $0.50 to $1.
But the rewards are very low: you are paid per 1,000 captchas, and it can take around 10 hours to solve 1,000 regular captchas. You also do not know what the captchas you solve are used for. In my opinion, it is only an option if you have no other site to earn from.
- Low payout threshold, from $0.50 to $1
- A very simple way to earn
- Available globally
- Android app and a mobile-friendly site
- Very low rewards
- Limited earning opportunities
- Captcha solving is sometimes used by scammers
- An unpaid training of 45 captchas first
- The support system needs work
- No PayPal or bank transfer
My experience with 2Captcha
I signed up for 2Captcha, went through the sign-up, the training and the member dashboard, and made a video about it. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.
- First tested
- July 2020Review first published Jul 13, 2020
- Latest retest
- Checked: captcha rates, payouts, support
- Training
- 45 captchasUnpaid, before you can earn
- Average time per regular captcha
- 37 secondsAs 2Captcha shows it, including waiting time
- The registration and the email confirmation
- The training program
- Image captchas and reCAPTCHAs in the member dashboard
- The payout options and the referral program
- The support section and the FAQ page
- A payout. My review does not show a payment from 2Captcha.
- The Android app.
An inside look at 2Captcha
In the video below, I give you an inside look and show exactly how to use 2Captcha and how you can earn from it.
Screenshots from my test
2Captcha pays very little for a lot of time. The top sites in your country pay a lot more.

Is 2Captcha legit and safe?
Yes, 2Captcha is legit. It will pay you to solve captchas. But that is not the real test of whether a site is worth joining. Here is what you should know.
- You do not know what the captchas are used for
Solving big amounts of captchas is sometimes used by scammers. You do not know what the captchas you solve are used for, which is very important to consider, in my opinion.
- Very low pay
You are paid per 1,000 captchas, for example $0.3 for image captchas and $1.01 for reCAPTCHAs. 2Captcha itself says you can expect $0.50 for 1 to 2 hours of work. In my opinion, that makes it a complete waste of time.
- Mistakes get your account blocked
If you make a lot of mistakes, your account is blocked. It can be unblocked, but that usually takes up to 2 working days. Solve captchas carefully.
- Unpaid training first
You must solve 45 training captchas before you get access to the paid ones. You are not paid for the training.
- A support section that does not work
The dashboard has a support ticket section, but there is no way to create a ticket. To contact support, email info@2captcha.com.
My take2Captcha can only be a viable option if you have no other sites to earn money from. The low rewards really hurt it. If it paid more, it could be decent, because the work is so simple. But captcha sites are not known for their earning potential, and when you also think about the ethical aspect, it is clearly not a good option, in my opinion.
How you earn on 2Captcha
There are 2 ways to earn. Solving captchas is the main one. Tap one to read more.
Solving captchasPer 1,000 captchas
First you complete the training: 45 captchas, unpaid. It helps you get used to how the site works. On a site like Timebucks, you do not need any training before you get paid. After the training, there are plenty of tasks.
There are two types. Image captchas: you type what you see in a distorted image. reCAPTCHAs: you tick “I’m not a robot” and choose the right images in a puzzle.
You are not paid per captcha, but per 1,000 captchas you solve. Each type has its own rate.
Referral program10% commission
You can invite workers or customers with your affiliate link. For workers, you earn 10% of their earnings, paid by the site. For customers, you get a 10% commission on what they pay for the service. The commission goes to your 2Captcha account.
How much can you make?
Not a lot. $0.3 or $1 for a thousand captchas is not very appealing, in my opinion, and that is true for all captcha sites.
2Captcha shows that a regular captcha takes 37 seconds on average, including waiting time. So 1,000 captchas can take around 10 hours. reCAPTCHAs are faster, but you still invest a lot of time for a little money.
At least 2Captcha is honest about it: it says you can expect $0.50 for 1 to 2 hours of work. No matter where you live, you can find ways to earn a lot more. See the top survey sites in your country.
Payout methods and minimum
| Method | Minimum |
|---|---|
| WebMoney, Perfect Money, Payeer, AdvCash | $0.50 to $1, depending on the method |
| AirTM | $0.50 to $1, depending on the method |
| Bitcoin | $0.50 to $1, depending on the method |
| PayPal and bank transfer | Not available |
PayPal and bank transfer are not available and never will be, because 2Captcha feels the withdrawal fees are too high for the small amounts you earn. That makes sense. I like the low threshold, which is only appropriate since you cannot earn a lot.
See also the fastest paying sites with a low threshold, or the best sites that pay through AirTM.
Who can join 2Captcha?
2Captcha is available globally. Fill out the sign-up form and click the confirmation link in the email. Then you can log in to the member dashboard and start the training.
The app is only for Android, on Google Play. On iOS, use the mobile web browser: the site is mobile-friendly. In my opinion, solving captchas on your phone is the best way to work on this site.
What 17 readers told me
This review has 17 comments since 2021: 9 from readers and 8 replies from me. These are the things readers mention most.
Readers confirm they get paid, but say the pay is very low for the time. In my opinion, the same time on other micro-tasks earns way more.
A reader felt the work might be used for illegal things. Solving captchas like this can sometimes be used for suspicious activities.
A reader whose country has no PayPal looked for AirTM sites. I keep a list of sites that pay through AirTM.
“The job requieres patient. It was my first experience earning money online. They really pay.”
Mikael: Thanks for sharing your experiences about this.
“he sits and solves captchas without any problems and earns money, not a lot of money, but he does it without experience.”
Mikael: I’m afraid I have to disagree that it is a good way to earn extra money. First of all, you have no idea what your workforce might be used for. Secondly, if you put the same time into other online micro-tasks, you could earn way more.
“am working on this site (2Capchta) and earning from it, but i feel remorse, i feel it is used for illegal things…”
Mikael: As I mention in the review above, solving captcha like this can sometimes be used for suspicious activities. And in addition to that, it gives very low pay.
Sites I recommend instead of 2Captcha
| Site | Best for | Min. cashout | My rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| PrizeRebel | Surveys, tasks and offers, with a very low threshold | $5 PayPal; some gift cards from $2 | 4.8 / 5 |
| ySense | Surveys, tasks and offers, available in many countries | $10 PayPal | 4.0 / 5 |
| Freecash | Offers and games, next to surveys | $5 | 4.2 / 5 |
| Timebucks | Many small tasks, no training needed | $3 | 3.9 / 5 |

I’m looking for sites that has Airtm as a withdrawal option and 2captcha is one of them. Paypal does not work in my country and I’ve recently used Airtm to withdraw my small earnings from ysense.
I have a list of sites that offer AirTM here.

I suggested this site as a way to earn money for my nephew, he sits and solves captchas without any problems and earns money, not a lot of money, but he does it without experience. A good option to make money.
I’m afraid I have to disagree that it is a good way to earn extra money. First of all, you have no idea what your workforce might be used for. Secondly, if you put the same time into other online micro-tasks, you could earn way more.
Micheal am working on this site (2Capchta) and earning from it, but i feel remorse, i feel it is used for illegal things, is my instincte true, or should go with it withot any wory?
As I mention in the review above, solving captcha like this can sometimes be used for suspicious activities. And in addition to that, it gives very low pay. For those reasons, it is not really an earning method I recommend.

Most merciless site for Earnings! It is a poorly slow and most adversely paid site of earning, also working long on it can certainly damage your Eye-sight.
Workers are paid like beggars.
It punishes for a mistake on dubious & complicated captchas by the way of repeat Test.
For a poor jobless & old person, it is the right way of earning. I doubt if it makes a parity
to the ASIANS? with regard to prices. Authorities should modify the system to make it worthwhile by increasing the Earning.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Hello, I love your page. And about 2Captcha.com I have to say that the site is not so bad for people from Venezuela. The job requieres patient. It was my first experience earning money online. They really pay. It has been the best option for me because It’s really hard to get paid from surveys, I have not found any survey available after weeks of searching in those sites and others sites like superpay.me, they just do not allow people from my country. At least, 2Captcha let us join them and earn some money.
