Y Live Review – Worth Your Time? (Not For Everyone)

Y Live Rating

Y Live (previously PopulusLive) is a legit survey site. The rewards per survey are fairly high, but the high payout threshold will take some patience to reach, as it offers limited earning opportunities.

I checked out Y Live (previously PopulusLive) and made a video that shows how you earn on it. It is legit and pays well per survey, but only in the UK, and you need £50 before you get paid. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend if you want to earn quicker.

Partially Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit and pays well per survey, but a high £50 threshold

UK only. Around £1 for every 5 minutes of surveys, paid automatically by bank transfer or cheque, but only once you reach £50.

Good for you ifYou live in the UK and want a secondary survey site that pays automatically, and you are patient.
Skip it ifYou want to cash out quickly, you live outside the UK, or you want PayPal.

The short answer

Y Live is a legit survey site that pays you in cash for answering its surveys. It used to be called PopulusLive. It typically pays £1 for every 5 minutes you spend on its surveys, and payments are processed automatically.

But it is only for people in the UK, and the payout threshold is £50, which is very high for a survey site. Surveys come by email, at random, so reaching £50 takes a lot of patience. It can be a decent secondary site. Just do not expect to earn quickly from it.

What I like
  • Payment is processed automatically
  • Quite high rewards per survey
  • High monthly draw prize
  • The registration process is pretty simple
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning potential
  • Limited payment methods: bank transfer or cheque
  • High payout threshold: £50
  • Only available in the UK

My experience with Y Live

I checked out Y Live, its surveys, its monthly draw, its payment terms and its mobile site, and I made a video that gives you an inside look. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is Y Live legit and safe?

Yes, Y Live is legit, because you can really earn from it. That does not mean it is the right opportunity for you. Here is what you should know.

  • A £50 threshold

You need 50 points, which is £50, before you get paid. That is very high for a survey site. If you do not reach it in a month, your points roll over until you do.

  • Quality checks on every survey

Points are not credited if your answers are illogical, or if you did not spend a minimum amount of time on a survey. Take your time and keep your answers logical.

  • Surveys come at random

Panelists are selected at random for a survey. You may get many in quick succession, or go a while without one. So it is hard to say how often you can earn.

  • Email support only

There is an FAQ section, but no contact form. To reach the support team, you email info@ylive-community.com.

  • Only in the UK

You must be at least 16 and have a permanent address in the UK. If you live elsewhere, this site is not for you.

My takeIf Y Live had a lower payout threshold, it would have been a better survey site, in my opinion. It offers limited earning opportunities, so reaching the threshold requires a lot of patience. However, the fact that it processes payments automatically relieves some of the stress for you, and it has quite high rewards for its surveys. That is why Y Live can be a decent secondary site to earn from. Just don’t expect to earn quickly from it.

How you earn on Y Live

Paid surveys are the only way to earn. The monthly draw is a consolation prize if you do not qualify. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveys£1 for every 5 minutes
Quality checks on Y Live surveys

Once you are a member of the panel, every survey offer comes by email, with the link to the survey. You do not need to log in to the site, but check your email regularly.

You first answer qualifying questions to see if you belong to the group the survey targets. If you do, you answer the actual survey. If you do not, the process stops there.

Y Live has quality control checks on all its surveys. Points are not credited if your answers are illogical, or if you did not spend a minimum amount of time on the survey. Once all the conditions are met, you get the promised points.

Monthly prize draw£250 prize, luck only
The Y Live monthly draw

Members who tried a survey in the month but did not qualify are automatically entered into the monthly draw. You do not have to do anything else. The prize is £250, and the draw is held in the first week of each month.

It is a consolation reward, not a guaranteed way to earn.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on how often you get survey offers and how many you complete. Y Live typically pays £1 for every 5 minutes you spend on its surveys, which is a decent amount, in my opinion.

But there is no clear answer to how often you get survey offers. Panelists are selected at random, so you may get many in quick succession, or go a while without one. Overall, this site does not have great earning potential. It is still a decent survey site, mainly because of how conveniently it processes payments.

Payout methods, minimum and speed

MethodMinimumSpeed
Bank transfer (BACS)50 points (£50)Usually 5–10 days after the points are deducted
Cheque50 points (£50)Usually 10–14 days after the points are deducted, posted to your UK address

Everything is automated. Once you reach 50 points within a month, you receive £50 the next month. Payments are processed at the beginning of each month. You choose one of the two payout methods.

Speeds are what Y Live states in its terms, checked Oct 8, 2026. Bank transfers go through Hyperwallet.

  2. They have useless customer service though. My experience of trying to contact them via both the automated request new password link, and via the contact email has been terrible. There is no reply to either.
