Survey Scout has closed
The Survey Scout website has closed. Its address now sends you to a different website, so you cannot join or use Survey Scout now. It never paid you itself anyway: it only gave you a short list of survey sites. I keep my review below as a record. The survey sites I would pick instead are further down.
Survey Scout gave you a short list of survey sites and user reviews of them. You could not earn on it. It has now closed. I joined and tested it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which survey sites I would pick instead.
Survey Scout has closed
Survey Scout has closed. When it was running, it was not a survey site: it gave you a short list of survey sites and outdated reviews, and you could not earn on it.

The short answer
Survey Scout has closed. Its address now sends you to a different website. You can no longer join or use it.
When it was running, Survey Scout was not a paid survey site. It was a survey aggregator: it gave you a short and poor list of survey sites, superficial info and user reviews that were years old. You could not earn on it. It only recommended legit survey sites, which was good, but it was too promotional, and I did not think it was worth your time.
- Only recommended legit survey sites
- You did not have to register to see the list of survey sites
- Survey Scout has closed
- You could not earn on it
- A short and poor list of survey sites
- Only superficial info
- Outdated reviews
- Too promotional
My experience with Survey Scout
I joined Survey Scout and went through everything it offered: the list of survey sites, the user reviews, the info about each site and the emails it sent. You could not earn on it, so there was nothing to cash out.

Was Survey Scout legit, and was it worth it?
Survey Scout has closed. When it was running, it was legit in the sense that it only recommended legit survey sites. But these were the problems.
- It has closed
Its address now sends you to a different website, so you cannot use Survey Scout now.
- It did not pay you
You could not take surveys or earn on Survey Scout. Its payment guarantee only meant it recommended survey sites that pay.
- A short and poor list
It said it listed the best survey sites, but it listed the sites it was paid to promote. Top sites like Swagbucks and PrizeRebel were not even on it.
- Outdated, one-sided reviews
The newest reviews I found were from the beginning of 2017. They were extremely positive, and many were written by the same people.
- Too promotional
Its very first email, before you had even confirmed your membership, pushed an offer with several promotion links.
My takeSurvey Scout has closed, so it is no longer an option. Even when it was running, I did not think it was worth your time. You were better off joining the best survey sites directly. See the alternatives below.
What Survey Scout offered
Survey Scout offered four things, and none of them paid you. Tap each one to read more.
A list of survey sitesNo pay
Survey Scout said it had scouted out the top-rated survey sites. You could see the list without joining, and joining did not give you a longer list.
The list was short and depended on your country. Even from the US, you got a very short list. All the sites I saw on it were legit, so it did not promote survey scams.
Read and write reviewsNo pay
Anyone could read the user reviews of the listed sites, but you had to be a member to write one. There were not many reviews, they were very positive, and many came from the same people. The newest ones I found were from the beginning of 2017.
Info about the survey sitesNo pay
Each review had a bit of background info about the site. It was nice to have, but superficial: you could read the same facts on the survey sites themselves. Still, it was the most valuable part of Survey Scout, in my opinion.
PromotionsNo pay
As soon as you signed up, you got a welcome email with promotion links. It did not ask you to confirm your membership first, and it oversold a site I know.

Did Survey Scout pay you?
No. Survey Scout was a survey aggregator, not a survey site. After you joined, you still had to go to each survey site on the list and sign up there. Those sites paid you, and Survey Scout had nothing to do with the payouts.
Survey Scout said it guaranteed payments. That did not mean it would pay you anything. It meant it only recommended legit survey sites that pay, and in my experience, it did.
What a reader told me
This review has 2 comments from July 2018: 1 from a reader and 1 reply from me.
A reader says survey sites pay too little for the time they take. I agree about Survey Scout, but not about the best legit survey sites.
“Most of the time survey site either pay too low it is too time-consuming for anyone. We cannot spend hours and get paid for a few bucks.”
Mikael: I agree that Survey Scout is a waste of time. But I do not agree that survey sites as such are a waste of time, if you join the best of the legit sites.

Who tested Survey Scout for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with Survey Scout, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
Most of the time survey site either pay too low it is too time-consuming for anyone. We cannot spend hours and get paid for a few bucks.
Most of the time these type of platform still work by having more member entering it. This can be considered a scam but you get what told so there is not complain.
Still, if the members are there for the quick money then it is good but there are also different places where you could learn skills and make money. One such example is freelancing. My point is if you feel that the money is not enough there are ways to make more money.
I agree that Survey Scout is a waste of time.
But I do not agree that survey sites as such are a waste of time, if you join the best of the legit sites. People mostly get disappointed, because they expect to be able to make a full-time income on surveys. This is not possible, but it can make some really nice cash on the side.
And many people forget that in addition to the nice extra money, surveys are an important way to give feedback to companies, organizations, and governments, so it is also a great way to have your opinion heard. And it is one of the only ways to make money online that is 100% risk free, and where you will start earning from day 1.
So paid surveys have a lot of advantages that are sometimes overlooked. But if the goal is to become rich online, it is not the way to go, but they can be great for many other purposes and reasons – but Survey Scout is definitely NOT one of the sites that gives these advantages:-)
All the best,
Mikael
