The Streetbees app and its parent company shut down in August 2025, after failing to secure last-minute rescue funding or a buyer. You cannot join or earn on it now. I keep my review below as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.

Streetbees was an app that paid you for small tasks about your daily life, like short surveys, photos and videos. It shut down in August 2025. I tested it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

The short answer

Streetbees has closed. The app and its parent company shut down in August 2025, after failing to secure last-minute rescue funding or a buyer. You can no longer join or earn there.

When it was running, it was legit, not a scam, and the tasks were fun and varied. But there were not many tasks, the earning potential was small, and some tasks were not approved, without a real explanation.

What I like
  • Fun and varied tasks
  • Available in 21 countries
  • Paid through PayPal, or mobile top-up where PayPal was not available
  • You could also use it while traveling
What I don’t like
  • Streetbees has shut down
  • Not as many tasks as on regular survey sites
  • Small earning potential
  • Inconsistent support
  • Tasks could be rejected without a real explanation

My experience with Streetbees

I joined Streetbees, did its tasks, applied to become an ambassador and contacted its support several times. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Streetbees legit and safe?

Streetbees has shut down, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it really paid you for the tasks you did. These were the catches.

  • It has shut down

The app and its parent company shut down in August 2025, after failing to secure last-minute rescue funding or a buyer.

  • Tasks could be rejected without a real explanation

A task had to be approved before you got paid. When mine was not approved, I only got a generic explanation. Several readers report approved tasks changed to rejected, or not getting all their money.

  • Not many tasks

Tasks were not frequent compared to other sites, and how many you got depended a lot on your country. Not all tasks were paid either.

  • Inconsistent support

Sometimes it took weeks, and a second message, before I got an answer. Other times, only a few days.

My takeStreetbees has shut down, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it could be a fun extra app, but never your only one: the opportunities were too limited for it to become a main earning app. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on Streetbees

There were three kinds of tasks, plus the ambassador program. Many tasks mixed them. Tap one to read more.

Tasks with small videosSet per task
Streetbees tasks in the app

Some tasks asked you to make a small video recording, for example while you clean or make tea. That way, companies could see what you actually do, not only what you say.

Survey-based tasksSet per task
Streetbees survey task

Some tasks were like regular paid surveys, but mostly chat-style and very short. They were faster than on most survey sites, but did not pay as much as the top-paying sites.

Tasks with photosSet per task

Some tasks asked you to take one or more photos in a specific situation, for example while making coffee or out shopping. Often, you also answered a few questions about the photos.

Streetbees ambassadorPer task your invites complete
Streetbees ambassador program

Ambassadors helped Streetbees grow in their country, mostly students with 2-3 hours a week. You referred friends and family and could help with social media campaigns. You got paid every time a person you invited completed a task.

You had to apply on the website. I applied, but it took a very long time to get answers, so I gave up.

Check Out the Top Survey Sites in Your Country

How much could you make?

Some extra pocket money, not a living. How many tasks you got and what they paid depended a lot on your country. In some countries, there were very few tasks; in others, several a week.

Overall, tasks were not frequent compared to other sites, in my experience. With the right expectations, it could be decent, but you should not have joined it as your only site.

How Streetbees paid

Your earnings went to your Streetbees account first. From there, there were two ways to get them out.

MethodNotes
PayPalThe main option
Mobile top-upIn countries where PayPal was not available

A task had to be approved before you got the earnings. In some cases, it was not, and you got no real explanation why.

For survey sites that still pay through PayPal, see the best sites that pay through PayPal.

Who could join?

Streetbees was available in 21 countries: France, Germany, Indonesia, the Philippines, Poland, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, India, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Mexico, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Italy, Malaysia, Brazil and South Africa.

You had to be 18 and sign up in the app, for Android or iOS, with your phone number. Unlike most apps, you could also use it while traveling: tasks followed your location, but were in the local language.

What 32 readers told me

This review has 65 comments since March 2018: 32 from readers and 33 replies from me. These are the three things readers wrote about most.

Rejected tasks and missing pay7 comments

Several readers report approved tasks changed to rejected, a blocked account, a payout that went to the wrong account, or very little pay for many tasks.

Good experiences5 comments

Other readers liked it, said it paid them, and found it fun, though they wished for more tasks and better pay.

Is it in my country?4 comments

Readers asked about Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines and Trinidad. Of these, only the Philippines was on the list of 21 countries above.

“Do you know how many you have to do to unlock the paid ones?”

Reader, July 2018
Mikael: There is not a set amount of unpaid tasks you need to do to unlock the paid ones. You will see in the app whether a survey is paid or unpaid, but how many unpaid you take will not affect the amount of paid ones.

“sometimes approved surveys change to rejected … I ended up not getting paid.”

Reader, October 2018
Mikael: Sorry to hear that. Sounds very disappointing. Did you contact their support and got an explanation for it?

“What to do if I open streetbees and no tasks appear instead it respond that “its a little quiet now”.”

Reader, June 2019
Mikael: Streetbees often do not have tasks. I would suggest you join several other sites as well that have more regular opportunities.

  1. I just started using StreetBees, and I absolutely love it! They were very prompt and professional when I brought some accessibility concerns to them. I’m visually impaired, and I’m very proud to say that this app is more accessible now, thanks to me emailing them! I think more survey sites need to be more inclusive of those of us who have disabilities, and I’m so glad StreetBees took my feedback seriously!

  5. Streetbees was a fun app in the beginning. They was paying out every 48hrs to my paypal! I made a total of $40 in one month. Then next month there wer less and less tasks to do and some repetitive as well. I did them as well and then the payout to paypal starting taking a week..until I emailed them a week later and then they sent payment the next day.

I did a task for $10 a week ago .then today it says the Streetbees app just paid me. I checked my paypal and nothing! Long story short after numerous emails back n forth with Streetbees, my email was switched to someone elses account. So now they have to review to make sure I didn’t get credit in order to pay me to the right account!..sheesh! I’m deleting this app.

      • Hi. I’m just join Streetbees in order to get some money. I downloaded yesterday and finished their surveys (about 53 stories) and didnt get any dollars. What does it mean?
And then, I opened again this app this morning and saw the writing that they didn’t have any surveys for me.

        • Hi Dito,

As explained in the review, not all surveys on Streetbees are paid which can be a bit confusing. Also, it is very normal that there are times when you cannot find any available surveys there. It is not the site with the most opportunities. That is why it is great joining other sites as well.

          Hope this helps.

I am sorry if you felt I was rude by saying this. Maybe I did not express myself clearly – I genuinely appreciated that you were sharing your experiences with me and everyone else as it can really help others make the right decision for them.

If it came across differently I apologize as that was definitely not my intention.

  7. Street Bees has owed me some money for a few weeks now. Cons me into doing 5 stories a day for 5 days for $50. My first day I was rapidly declined and then the app gave me an error code since. I reached out to Street Bees and this is what I was told (mind you, many of my friends and family use Street Bees and had the same error msg):

    Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately our systems have either linked you to more than one account, using VPN or suspicious and illegal activities

This action violates our Terms and Conditions and for this reason your account was blocked.

This ban is permanent, therefore we are not able to reinstate your account.

I am sorry that we will no longer be able to receive more submissions from you.

    Thank you,

I was in no violation and was not provided any further explanation and had my account closed. Seems once you make a substantial amount of money they close your account without reason. It’s a waste of time honestly and Street Bees is not worth the frustration.

  10. Couple of things that weren’t mentioned. Sometimes you have to complete unpaid surveys to unlock the paid ones. Secondly, they ask a lot of very personal questions so be wary of that.
It’s a decent app and fairly fun but you’ll only make a few pounds a month out of it. But they do actually pay you and it is not a scam.

      • Hi Jules,

I will try to contact Streetbees and see, if I can get an answer for you about whether there is a set number you have to do, or if it depends on the account/country. I will get back yo you as soon as I hear from them.

      • Hi Jules,

I just checked with Streetbees themselves to be sure how it works worldwide. There is not a set amount of unpaid tasks you need to do to unlock the paid ones. You will see in the app whether a survey is paid or unpaid, but how many unpaid you take will not affect the amount of paid ones. So if you do not see any paid ones, it is likely because there are none available in your area at the moment.

        Hope this helps.

  11. Hi Mikael,

I have heard of Streetbees from a recent ad lying around the internet and the claims that it promises really seem to be too good to be true.
After reading your article, I think I’ll give this a miss, as I think there’s way more work required just to earn a little bit of pocket money as you’ve said.

I’ve got a question: What’s the best survey site or do you have any recommendations on them?
