PurplePatch Surveys is an Australian survey site that rewards you with points for your opinion. I tested it to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays well per survey, but there are not many surveys and no cash rewards. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.
Legit, but too few surveys and no cash rewards
Good pay per survey and a bonus when you are screened out. Only for Australia, and only GiftPay eGift cards.

The short answer
Yes, PurplePatch Surveys is legit. You really earn rewards for answering surveys. It pays well per survey, and you get a small bonus when you do not qualify, which not many survey sites offer.
But there are not many surveys, so you cannot earn regularly from it, and it does not offer cash rewards: the only payout is a GiftPay eGift card, unless you donate to charity. It is only for people in Australia. Use it as a secondary site at most.
- Pays a decent amount per survey
- A disqualification bonus of 10 points
- The member dashboard works well on a phone
- 200 points for completing your profile survey
- Limited earning opportunities
- No cash rewards, only GiftPay eGift cards
- Only available in Australia
- No app

Is PurplePatch Surveys legit and safe?
Yes, PurplePatch Surveys is legit, because you really earn rewards from it. These are the catches.
- Not many surveys
You have no control over how many surveys are available, and there were not a lot when I tested it. It is hard to earn regularly from it.
- No cash rewards
The only payout is a GiftPay eGift card, unless you donate your points to charity. If you want cash, this is not the site for you.
- You do not qualify for every survey
Each survey starts with qualifying questions. If you do not qualify, you get 10 points and move on to the next survey, if there is one.
- Australia only
PurplePatch Surveys is only for people who live in Australia.
My takePurplePatch Surveys is not a bad survey site. It pays well per survey and has a disqualification bonus. But because there are so few surveys, I would only use it as a secondary site. See the alternatives below.
How you earn on PurplePatch Surveys
There are 3 ways to earn. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysAround 200–400 points
When you log in, the dashboard shows the surveys you can take. PurplePatch also emails you or sends you an SMS when surveys are available.
Each survey starts with qualifying questions, because the researchers look for a particular group of people. If you qualify, you answer the survey and receive the points. Surveys under 5 minutes usually pay around 200 to 400 points, and longer surveys pay more.
If you do not qualify, you still get 10 points. It is not much, but not many survey sites pay you anything when you are screened out. For more sites like this, see the top sites that offer a disqualification bonus.
Prize drawsUsually 5,000 points
Some surveys give you an entry to a prize draw, instead of or on top of your points. A winner usually gets 5,000 points.
It is not a guaranteed way to earn, so think of any winnings as a bonus.
Referral program100 points
You share your referral link, or send an invite from the referral page, and PurplePatch emails your link to the person you invite.
When they sign up and complete two surveys, you receive 100 points. It is not very profitable, but it is a way to earn extra points.

How much can you make?
It depends on how many surveys you can complete, and you have no control over that. When I tested it, there were not a lot of surveys available, so it is quite hard to earn regularly.
The pay per survey is actually quite competitive: around 200 to 400 points for a survey under 5 minutes. But because there are so few surveys, the overall earning potential is not great. It can serve as a decent secondary site.
Payout methods and minimum
You earn points and redeem them once you have 500 points, which are worth $5.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| GiftPay eGift card | 500 points ($5) | Usable at a wide range of retailers in Australia |
Instead of a gift card, you can also donate your points to charity.
A GiftPay eGift card is a very versatile gift card, but it is not cash. If you want cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
