PointsPrizes has shut down. You cannot join or earn on it now. As you can see in my review below, it was not worth it anyway: before it closed, every reward was out of stock once I reached the payout threshold, and it seemed impossible to get paid. I keep my review as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.

PointsPrizes paid you points for surveys, offers and referrals. It has now shut down. I was a member for a few years before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

The short answer

PointsPrizes has shut down. You can no longer join or earn there.

It used to be a site that actually paid. But after its big update in 2021, it changed into a platform full of red flags. Every reward was out of stock once I reached the payout threshold, the support option was gone, and you could log in with just an email address. It seemed impossible to get paid, so I did not recommend it.

What I like
  • Had a decent amount of surveys and many offer walls
  • Paid a 50% referral commission
What I don’t like
  • PointsPrizes has shut down
  • Rewards were lower than on similar sites
  • Reward options were constantly out of stock
  • No support option
  • You could not create a password
  • It seemed impossible to get paid

My experience with PointsPrizes

I joined PointsPrizes, was a member for a few years and saw all the changes it went through. I earned with its surveys and offers until I reached the payout threshold. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was PointsPrizes legit and safe?

PointsPrizes has shut down, so you can no longer join or earn on it. It used to pay, but in its last years it had some huge red flags.

  • It has shut down

PointsPrizes is no longer a way to earn.

  • Rewards always out of stock

PayPal, Payoneer and Bitcoin were out of stock for months. Once I reached the payout threshold, every single reward method was out of stock. Other accounts I checked at the same time saw methods that were out of stock in mine, but always with a threshold above what that person had earned.

  • No password

You logged in with just your email address. Anyone with your email address could get into your account without any further security check.

  • No support

After the big update, PointsPrizes no longer seemed to have any support option. Several readers report that support did not reply, and some that their account was blocked after they asked for a payout.

  • The app disappeared

PointsPrizes used to have an app on Google Play and the App Store. Suddenly it was no longer available.

My takePointsPrizes has shut down, and it was a complete waste of time in its last years. You should not have expected to get paid. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on PointsPrizes

These were the ways to earn after the 2021 update. All of them are gone now. Tap one to read how it worked.

Paid surveysA bit below average
PointsPrizes survey routers

In the Earn section, you found links to several survey routers with surveys from third-party providers. How many surveys you got depended a lot on your country.

You often did not qualify, so it took some patience. It was also not easy to see what you would get for a survey before you took it, and the rewards per survey were a bit below average.

Paid offersVaries per offer
PointsPrizes offer walls

PointsPrizes had many offer walls, with contests, free trials, app downloads and more surveys. Some offers gave really good rewards.

The top offers were often contests where you had to give your phone number, which could lead to a lot of sales calls. So you had to check the conditions of each offer first.

Referrals50% commission

You got 50% of everything the people you invited made, without lowering their rewards. The advice on PointsPrizes made it sound easy, but much of it, like posting your link in Facebook groups, did not give any results.

Removed in 2021No longer offered

PointsPrizes used to offer coupon codes for free points, watching videos, playing games, daily polls and giveaways. All of these were removed in the big update in the middle of 2021.

How much could you make?

It depended on your effort and your country. PointsPrizes said itself that the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia had the most options, with quite good options in France, Germany and the Netherlands too.

But in its last years, you were wasting your time no matter where you lived. The payment system seemed to adjust to your earnings, so you would never be able to get paid.

How PointsPrizes paid

You earned points, and you exchanged them for prizes. The list looked great, but most options were out of stock.

RewardNotes
PayPalOut of stock for months
PayoneerOut of stock for months
Bitcoin and other cryptoBitcoin out of stock for months
Gift cardsGoogle Play, iTunes, Amazon, online games and more

When I reached the payout threshold, every single reward method was suddenly out of stock. In other accounts, the methods that were available always had a threshold higher than what the person had earned. For sites that really pay, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

  1. Hey there! I used to be the manager of the Discord for PointsPrizes. This was a long time ago however I still thought I’d give some of my thoughts about what has happened.

I very much agree with this review, from what I can see now the site has definitely gone backwards a LOT. I wouldn’t recommend it anymore as it indeed appears to not even be “real” anymore and looks more like a scam now.

As for what/why this happened, I sadly don’t know. I used to have contact with the head of the company when I was manager but that contact slowly faded away and disappeared completely after a while. However, I can say that back when I did talk to him he seemed like a genuinely nice person and someone who cared a lot for the company and it’s users. My guess is that it was taken over by someone or something that made it like it is today.

If someone has a question for me feel free to ask!

  2. I too have been with them a long time. What you say about their payout system is indeed true. I am up to 3153. Now all of a sudden they are coming up with charge backs. They are indeed Dodgy scam artists.

  3. They are the most dodgy scam artists on the internet. DO NOT SIGN UP.
everytime you finally build up enough money to buy a gift card they are conveniently all of the sudden out of any gift card of the amount of points you have earned.
Example 1 hour ago there were PlayStation and Xbox gift cards available for 25000 points ( $25 )
I did one more survey to finally have enough to get one of those 2, and all of a sudden the only ones available were $50 gift cards.
They are a scam do not trust them you will never ever get anything for the points you earn.
I would not even give them half a star.
They are degenerate pigs that never reply to your emails

  4. How do I contact PointPrizes? Any email address or support link?
I could not find anything to contact their support.
    Can you help Mikael?

  5. I have been using PointsPrizes for a few weeks, in the beginning the points go up real fast, but after a while I noticed some points didn’t add to my dashboard, although I received confirmation on the site and through email. I’m still waiting on responses to my questions, so it seems they don’t take their users serious. at this time I’m missing about 50% of the confirmed points … So I would say it’s a scam……

I’ve been recently having trouble with them and their support staff practically doesn’t exist. I will say that the time I’ve been with PointsPrizes, I’ve earned over 200k points and they gradually started going downhill from there.
With numerous problems and not responding to support tickets.
I’ve filled out several support tickets in June of 2019 and to this day I never got a response from them.
    They don’t care!
Edited to add: They banned me from their Discord site lol

  8. Hello Mikael!

Pointsprizes is totally scam even I earned more than 5500 points and I did claim for $20 PayPal money but after waiting for a long time ( 1.5 months ) they just blocked my account. It’s totally unfair.

I can send you a solid proof.

Guys don’t believe on these sites.

    • Hi,

Thanks for sharing your opinion about PointsPrizes with the rest of us.

I am also not crazy about what it offers and do not think it is good compared to similar sites. But that it does not have good options and is making money by what it is doing does not necessarily make it a scam, in my opinion.

Anyways – thanks for sharing your opinion

      Mikael
