Points2Shop is an online rewards site that has existed since 2007. I joined and tested it myself. Below is what it offers since its big 2021 update, how you get paid, and which sites I would pick first.

Legit and simple, but few ways to earn
Paid surveys with PayPal from around $5 or gift cards via Tremendous, in 40+ countries. Since the 2021 update, surveys are almost the only way to earn.

The short answer
Points2Shop is a legit survey site and definitely not a scam. You can cash out through PayPal when you have earned around $5, or get gift cards via Tremendous.
But it is very different from what it used to be. Since a big update in March 2021, it mainly offers paid surveys, and it does not give a lot of earning opportunities. Games, paid offers, contests and the app are gone. It is now very easy to use, but there are better survey sites, in my opinion.
- You can sign up from many countries
- Great rewards: PayPal and gift cards
- Simple to use
- You see the reward and the time before you start a survey
- Not a lot of earning opportunities
- A lot fewer ways to earn than before the update
- No app anymore
- Slow support
My experience with Points2Shop
I joined Points2Shop and tested it, first on the old platform and again after the 2021 update. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

- Signing up, and contacting support about a sign-up error
- The paid surveys after the 2021 update
- The referral program in the member area
- The payout options, PayPal and Tremendous gift cards
- The old platform and its app, before the 2021 update
- A payout. My review does not show a payment from Points2Shop.
- The survey offer in other countries. It differs a lot by country.

Is Points2Shop legit and safe?
Yes, Points2Shop is legit and definitely not a scam. But it is not without its flaws. Here is what you should know before you join.
- Few ways to earn
Since the update in March 2021, Points2Shop mainly offers paid surveys. Games, paid offers, contests and membership levels were removed. It can take a while to reach the payout threshold.
- You will not qualify for every survey
Sometimes it takes some patience to find the surveys you qualify for. This is normal on survey sites.
- Slow support
When I contacted support about a sign-up error, I got a reply, but it took around 4 to 5 days. From what I can see, other people also say the support is slow.
- Referral rules
Accounts registered in the same household, or using the same internet service provider as you, do not give you a referral bonus.
My takePoints2Shop can have some earning possibilities and is definitely not a scam. But it is very different from what it used to be, and it no longer gives a lot of earning opportunities. The panel is now very easy to use, but overall, it is not an impressive survey site. There are many other sites that make it easier to earn and are more enjoyable to use.
How you earn on Points2Shop
There are 2 ways to earn. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysMain earner
You can find a decent number of surveys, but not as many as you used to get access to. The setup of the site is very much like the survey panel Triaba, which is way better, in my opinion.
What I like is that you can right away see what you get and about how long a survey takes. This makes it easy to prioritize your time. You will not qualify for all the surveys, and sometimes it takes some patience to find the ones you qualify for.
Referral programUp to $2 per referral
You find your referral link inside the member area. Once someone who joined through your link completes one survey, you get up to $2. You also earn a small amount every time your referral completes a survey.
Accounts in the same household, or on the same internet service provider as you, do not give you a bonus. Compared to many similar sites, the earning potential is limited.

How much can you make?
It depends very much on where you live, because different countries have different opportunities, and on how much time you spend on Points2Shop.
You can make some extra money on the side, but it will not make you rich or give you a full-time income. Compared to other survey and GPT sites I have tested, Points2Shop no longer gives a lot of opportunities, so it can take quite a while longer to earn than on my top-rated survey sites.
Payout methods and minimum
| Method | Minimum |
|---|---|
| PayPal | Around $5 |
| Gift cards via Tremendous | Depends on your country |
You earn cash, which you can usually see in your account more or less right away. The exact reward options and payout threshold depend on the country you live in. On the old platform, the PayPal threshold was only $1, but that is not the case anymore.

Before the 2021 update, readers found it hard to figure out all the functions. The site is much simpler now.

“Points2shop sounds like a truly legitimate place to earn small amount of income. However, the learning curve necessary to figure out how to use all of the functions of the site sounds like a major disappointment.”
Mikael: … it is not one of the sites I recommend too much.

Thanks for sharing. PrizeRebel definitely is a great site and also one I have had a lot of great results with.
Yes, the desire to learn and adjust is certainly frustrating and is moreover one of the major reasons that it is not one of the goals I propose too much. I think numerous people would be disappointed instead of ending up making money.
However, that the profit is Amazon credits can be pretty okay depending on where you are on the planet.
All the best,
Sameer
Thanks for your comment Sameer.
Yes, if it is too difficult to start using, I also think that most people would not give it a chance long enough to really earn money. Points2shop has potential, but mainly because it has such a poor usability, I think there are many sites that are better to join for most people. Can only hope that the Points2shop at some point will make some changes and focus more on being user-friendly.
All the best,
Mikael
Points2shop sounds like a truly legitimate place to earn small amount of income. However, the learning curve necessary to figure out how to use all of the functions of the site sounds like a major disappointment. The phone app sounds a bit easier, but according to what you mentioned, it’s still pretty difficult too navigate. The earnings come out too be Amazon credits which alright depending on where you are in the world. The games sound interesting too but you have to invest points and win. I would rather try your other money making method you mentioned.
Thanks for your comment.
Yes the learning curve is definitely dissapointing and is also one of the main reasons that it is not one of the sites I recommend too much. I think many people would get frustarted instead of enjoying it.
All the best,
Mikael
