Payswell Review: Legit or Scam? (REAL Truth)

Payswell Rating

Payswell is not a bad survey site. However, it’s not one of the best either. It’s right around the middle. Its biggest downside is that it currently doesn’t offer cash rewards.

I tested Payswell, the survey site MySoapBox recommends, to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays a decent amount per survey, but it has no cash rewards and asks for your ID. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Partially Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit, but no cash rewards and an ID check to join

Decent pay per survey and a disqualification bonus, for the US and Canada. Rewards are gift cards only.

Good for you ifYou live in the US or Canada, want an extra survey site, and are fine with gift cards.
Skip it ifYou want cash, you do not want to upload your ID, or you live outside the US and Canada.

The short answer

Payswell is a legit survey site. You can really earn from it. It pays a decent amount per survey and gives you a small reward when you do not qualify.

But it currently does not offer cash rewards, only gift cards and charity donations. You have to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to become a member, and it is mainly for people in the US and Canada. It is not bad, but not one of the best either: right around the middle.

What I like
  • Offers a decent reward per survey
  • Offers a disqualification bonus
  • Only shows surveys you are likely a match for
  • Mobile-friendly website without pop-up ads
  • Support by email and phone
What I don’t like
  • Does not currently offer cash rewards
  • You have to submit a photo of a government-issued ID to become a member
  • Mainly for the US and Canada
  • No app

My experience with Payswell

I signed up for Payswell, went through the ID check and looked at the surveys and rewards. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Payswell legit and safe?

Yes, Payswell appears to be a legit survey site, because you can really earn from it. But that does not mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know.

  • You have to upload your ID

After you set up your profile, Payswell asks for a photo of your driver’s license, passport or national ID. There is a skip option, but it did not let me skip it while testing.

  • No cash rewards

You can only redeem gift cards or donate to charity. Payswell says it is working on more payout options, like direct bank transfer.

  • A reader reports no more surveys and no replies

In September 2026, a reader wrote that the surveys stopped, that the company no longer replied to emails, and that the phone number did not work.

  • Mainly the US and Canada

You may be able to sign up from anywhere, but most (if not all) opportunities are only for people in the US and Canada.

My takeIn my opinion, Payswell is not a bad survey site. However, it is not one of the best either. It is right around the middle. Its biggest downside is that it currently does not offer cash rewards. If this were to change, it could be a decent way to earn extra cash. But as it is now, it can only serve as a secondary source of rewards.

Payswell has no cash rewards. The top sites in your country pay in cash.

How you earn on Payswell

Paid surveys are the main way to earn. Payswell sometimes offers other research tasks too.

Paid surveysDecent pay

When there is a survey for you, you see it in the member dashboard, and you get an email. Payswell uses AI to only show you surveys you are potentially a match for, so you waste less time trying to qualify.

You first answer qualifying questions. If you do not qualify, you usually get around 5 points for your time. Not many survey sites do this. See the best sites that offer a disqualification bonus.

Answer new surveys right away. Every survey has a maximum number of respondents, and once that is reached, no new respondents are accepted.

Other research tasksSometimes

Sometimes, Payswell asks you to do product testing, shopping missions, one-on-one interviews (by phone or video) or online focus groups. Paid surveys are by far the most common, based on what I saw while testing.

How much can you make?

It depends on how many surveys you complete. How many surveys you get depends mostly on your profile and location.

The pay per survey varies, but it is a decent amount, in my opinion. It is not the highest-paying survey site, but it is also not among the lowest-paying. It is right around the middle.

Rewards and minimums

RewardMinimumNotes
Gift cardsDepends on your location and the card100 points = $1

Payswell says it is working on more payout options, like direct bank transfer, so they may be available by the time you read this. If you prefer cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
