Maru Voice Canada/UK Review – Scam or Legit? (Full Details)

Maru Voice Rating

Maru Voice Canada/UK is a legit survey site that pays. The main issue with this survey site is that it is not always accepting new members, and it takes time to reach the payout threshold.

I checked Maru Voice Canada and Maru Voice UK to see if they are worth joining. They are legit, and the reward per survey is decent, but they are not accepting new members on their website, and the threshold takes time to reach. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Legit, but closed to new members and slow to cash out

Canada and UK only. Decent points per survey, but only 1 to 4 surveys a month and a $25 threshold in Canada.

Good for you ifYou live in Canada or the UK, you get the chance to join, and you want a decent extra survey site.

The short answer

Maru Voice is a legit survey panel that pays you for completing their surveys. It is a fairly popular survey site in Canada and the UK, and the reward per survey is decent.

But they are not accepting new members directly on their website, in Canada or the UK. And if you can join, it takes quite some patience to get to the payout threshold, because you only get 1 to 4 surveys a month.

What I like
  • Payment via PayPal is available in Canada
  • Decent reward per survey
  • Good mobile support
  • There are several ways for you to contact them for support
  • A lower threshold in the UK: 1,000 points (£10)
What I don’t like
  • Currently not accepting new members
  • High payout threshold in Canada: 2,500 points ($25)
  • Fairly low overall earning potential
  • No PayPal in the UK, only gift cards
  • The contact form is hard to find

My experience with Maru Voice

I checked both panels, Maru Voice Canada and Maru Voice UK: the surveys, the rewards, the sign-up and the support options. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is Maru Voice legit and safe?

Yes, Maru Voice is a legit survey site. However, this doesn’t automatically mean you should sign up. Here is what you should know first.

  • Not accepting new members

They are not accepting any new members directly on their website, in the UK or Canada. If you really want to join, check back from time to time.

  • A long road to the threshold in Canada

With 1 to 4 surveys a month and 50 to 500 points each, it takes more than a month to reach 2,500 points in Canada, even at the max reward per survey, which in my experience is rarely the case.

  • Surveys can close early

Every invitation has a close date, but a survey can close before it when it has enough respondents. Answer invites quickly.

  • A reader’s reward that did not arrive

In January 2024, a long-time reader wrote that an Amazon reward ordered a month earlier had not arrived and that emails to support went unanswered. The reader had never had problems redeeming before.

  • Older members may get screened out

One reader aged 80 was screened out of every survey after entering their age. It is harder to find surveys you qualify for when you reach a certain age.

My takeWith a bit of patience, it can be a decent extra site to join if you live in Canada or the UK, if you ever get the chance to join. But I would also suggest you check out other top survey sites in your country to get enough earning opportunities – here you can for sure register.

You cannot join Maru Voice on its website right now. These sites are open to new members today.

How you earn on Maru Voice

There are 3 ways to earn. Surveys are where almost all the points come from. Tap one to read more.

Maru Voice surveys50–500 points
Maru Voice Canada partner surveys

There are two types. Partner surveys come from Maru Voice’s network partners: you go to another site, take the survey, and come back with the reward in your Maru Voice account.

Maru Voice’s own surveys are Profiler surveys, with general questions about how you consume media or how often you shop, and Mosaic surveys, with several topics designed by their clients.

You get invitations by email with a unique link and a close date. A survey can close before that date when it has enough respondents, so answer quickly. The longer and more complicated the survey, the more points you get.

Prize drawsLuck only

You earn entries by completing surveys, and you are entered automatically when you sign up. You can win cash or other prizes. Maru Voice shares little about how and when the draws happen, so do not rely on them.

Refer A Friend campaignsNot stated

Maru Voice periodically holds Refer A Friend campaigns where randomly selected groups of members can refer others to join. It does not say what you get for a referral. It is not a way to earn consistently.

How much can you make?

It depends on how often you get invites, how often you qualify and how many surveys you take. A survey pays 50 to 500 points, and Maru Voice mentions you can receive one to four surveys each month.

In Canada, that means it takes quite some time to reach the 2,500-point threshold, even though the rewards per survey are pretty decent. In the UK, with a 1,000-point threshold, it is faster.

Reward options and minimums

PanelMinimumRewards
Maru Voice Canada2,500 points ($25). It used to be $50.Gift cards, prepaid Visa cards, PayPal
Maru Voice UK1,000 points (£10)Amazon, iTunes and other gift cards. No PayPal.

The threshold in Canada is quite high compared to other sites, but at least it has very good reward options. In the UK, the threshold is more reasonable, but there is no cash. If you prefer cash, see the top survey sites that pay via PayPal.

Who can join, and how

Only residents of Canada or the UK can join, aged 18 or older. Right now, Maru Voice is not accepting new members directly on its website, so check back from time to time. Maru Voice Canada was formerly known as Angus Reid Forum before Maru Blue’s acquisition.

There is no Maru Voice app, but the website is optimized for mobile, so you can answer surveys in your phone’s browser.

For support, check the FAQ first. The contact form is hard to find: on the FAQ page, click the support button in the lower right corner, search for anything, and click “Contact Us”. Emailing support@maruvoice.ca is easier. Maru Voice is also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and shows a postal address on its contact page.

Is Maru Voice worth it in your country?

  1. I made an order of $50 Amazon reward back Dec 4/23 and still no sign of it. No one answers my dozens of emails which they say I will get a reply in 2 days. Not true. Facebook Author also isn’t helping me. I spent months of doing surveys to get to a $50 reward. I’ve never had problems in the past redeeming….why now? I’d like an answer and my $50 reward please.
I’ve faithfully completed your surveys for many years. Not sure whats wrong now??

    • Sorry but I do not have any contact with the panel and have nothing to do with them, so I cannot help with this. Please keep me updated about how it goes. Hope you will hear back from them soon.
