I checked out Forthright, also called Be Forthright, and made a video of how it works inside. It is legit, has no payout threshold and gives you a bonus when you do not qualify. But it is US only and has few surveys. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Legit and simple, but US only with few surveys
No payout threshold, good payout methods and a loyalty bonus. Few surveys, a confusing sign-up and only open in the US.

The short answer
Forthright is definitely a legit survey site. It is very simple to use, it has good payout methods, no payout threshold, and a loyalty bonus when you do not qualify for a survey.
But it has limited earning opportunities, and it is only available in the US, even though the sign-up lets you pick other countries. Setting your password is unnecessarily bureaucratic. Join it next to the top-paying survey sites, not instead of them.
- Free to join
- No payout threshold
- Loyalty credit when you do not qualify for a survey
- PayPal, Amazon gift cards, Bitcoin and Tango Card
- Website well optimized for mobile
- Limited earning opportunities
- Confusing to see where it is available: only the US
- A little bureaucratic joining process
- Support is not impressive, in my experience
- No app
My experience with Forthright
I signed up for Forthright, made a video tutorial of how it works inside, and contacted its support. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Forthright is US only and has few surveys. The top sites in your country give you more to do.

Is Forthright legit and safe?
Yes, Forthright is definitely legit. But that does not necessarily mean it will be worth your time. Here is what you should know.
- Few surveys
Forthright has a decent number of surveys, but not as many as some other sites, so do not expect them every day. You can take at most 3 partner surveys a day, and there is no guarantee any are available.
- Only for people in the US
You can pick another country at sign-up, but your profile needs a US postcode. Forthright confirmed to me it is only available in the US. You also need to verify your own US phone number to get surveys.
- Signing in is a bit bureaucratic
You do not choose a password when you sign up. You ask for an email with an access link, and once inside, you set a password under My Account → Preferences.
- Some readers waited on a payout
Between 2019 and 2023, a few readers wrote about a reward or a product test incentive they were still waiting for, and support that did not reply. One of them later received her Amazon code: the access code emails can take about 24 hours. These reports are old, and another reader wrote that Forthright pays out instantly.
- You will not qualify for every survey
How often you qualify depends on the group each survey looks for. The loyalty bonus softens this, but only for Forthright surveys, not for partner surveys.
My takeOverall, Forthright is a very simple survey site, which makes it easy to use. It offers good payout methods and has no payout threshold. But it has limited earning potential, so even though it is easy to use, you should definitely also join some of the top-paying survey sites in your country to get enough opportunities.
How you earn on Forthright
There are 3 ways to earn. Tap one to read more.
Forthright member surveysMain earner
These surveys are exclusive to Forthright members. There is a decent number, but not as many as on some other sites, so do not expect them every day.
You will not qualify for all of them. Sometimes you qualify for several in a row, and sometimes for none. You hear about new surveys by email or by text message, depending on your settings.
Partner surveysUp to 3 a day
A survey router lets you scan for surveys from third-party partners. These surveys are also on other survey sites.
You can take a maximum of 3 a day, and there is no guarantee any are available. The top-paying survey sites often have more of these, without a daily maximum.
Loyalty bonus$2 per 3 credits
When you do not qualify for a Forthright survey, or cannot complete it, you get a loyalty credit. With 3 credits, you get a $2 bonus in your account.
It is a consolation prize for not qualifying, and I think it is a great feature. It only counts for Forthright surveys, not for partner surveys.
How much can you make?
Forthright offers easy access to earn a little extra by sharing your opinion. But it is not one of the sites with the most opportunities, and you will not necessarily find surveys every day.
It can be a way to earn a little extra cash, but it will not make you rich or anything near a full-time income.
Payout methods and minimum
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | None | Cash to your PayPal account |
| Amazon gift cards | None | Sent as an access code by email, which can take about 24 hours |
| Bitcoin | None | Paid in crypto |
| Tango Card | None | Gift card reward |
| Charity | None | Donate your earnings instead |
There is no minimum payout threshold, so you can take your money out after every survey, or wait until you have a bigger amount. Forthright also offers instant rewards right after you finish a survey, but you need to verify your phone number to use them.
For more sites with this method, see the best survey sites that pay through PayPal.
What 24 readers told me
This review has 24 comments since 2019: 12 from readers and 12 replies from me. These are the three things readers ask about most.
Readers asked if they could join and why they got no surveys. Forthright only offers surveys in the US, and you need to verify your own US phone number.
Readers waited on a reward or a product test incentive and got no reply from support. One later received her Amazon code without problems.
Readers found few Forthright surveys and were screened out of many partner surveys.
“I cashed out $5.00 and selected an Amazon reward. My account says the access code was delivered, but it never showed up in my email. … I just received and redeemed my access code email with absolutely no problems!”
Mikael: Hope you will get a reply from them soon. Keep me updated.
“Will the surveys ever be working again the past 2 weeks it says surveys unvaliable try again tommorow it says this everyday”
Mikael: Right after the holidays, there is often fewer surveys on many sites. … But, in general, there are many sites that offer more surveys than Forthright.
“Do I have to verify my phone number to be approved in the partner surveys?”
Mikael: You need your own US phone number for that – and yes, if you have not verified your phone number that is the reason you are not getting any surveys.

If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with Forthright, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
The whole thing from top to bottom is crap info collecting bots that will get you to answer 30 mins of ? And right after they tell you your almost done up pops a disqualified screen the avg. Earnings on this whole shitshow is about 7.00 USD and that’s the over bet, hit it and quit it! with a 4.00 USD Amazon gift card you’ll be walking out ahead?rfl?
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I cashed out $5.00 and selected an Amazon reward. My account says the access code was delivered, but it never showed up in my email. So, far no one has responded to my email to support or to the one through their help link on the site.
Hope you will get a reply from them soon. Keep me updated.
I just received and redeemed my access code email with absolutely no problems! I didn’t wait long enough before becoming worried and reaching out probably because it was my first time to cash out with them. It takes about 24 hours for the access code emails to process and get to survey takers. If it hasn’t arrived after 24 hours, then we are supposed to contact help/support. So relieved and happy. I will definitely take more surveys for Forthright.
Thanks for sharing.
It’s pretty much a waste of time. You’ll be lucky to make one out of 15 partner surveys and the payable forthright surveys are very rare, maybe one a week.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I did a 30 dollar product test through Forthright panel months ago. I was told 7 weeks ago, I’d have my incentive in my account within the 2 to 3 week turn around time. Well, nothing. Now customer support wont reply to my emails and haven’t in weeks as well. Last email weeks ago was I was guaranteed to be paid. Well where is it then? Why can’t you respond to my emails? Why won’t you respond to my BBB complaint? I even have the email from the market research company that this test went through that states, my participation has been recorded and thanking me. I want my money! I will say this, they do pay out instantly, never had a problem in that regards, but just be warned if you do a product test through their panel. If there is a delay or some sort of glitch, inform your participants, not ignore when they inquire about something! Multiple times! Im sure they definitely got their cut from it. Theirs and mine it looks like! Real nice to do to a once loyal participant!!
Very sorry to hear that. But thanks for taking the time to share your experiences here so others can see what to be aware of.
Will the surveys ever be working again the past 2 weeks it says surveys unvaliable try again tommorow it says this everyday
Right after the holidays, there is often fewer surveys on many sites. So hopefully more will come back soon. But, in general, there are many sites that offer more surveys than Forthright.

Hi
hi,
Did you have any questions?
Hello, I have a small question, which I have to ask exactly for some member surveys to arrive. since he answers the form but he still doesn’t answer me surveys of that section. I still don’t confirm my phone number. it must be because of that? I would appreciate you helping me to access. I hope you write to my email XXXXXXXXX
Which country do you live in Ethan? Because Forthright only offers surveys in the US so if you do not live here that is why you will not receive any surveys.
HI, im from USA. Do I have to confirm my phone number first to be approved in the partner surveys? I still haven’t confirmed my number.
I had put my email address, but it seems they censored it, how can I contact you privately?
You had put your email here on my website publicly and I censored that to protect your privacy so it was not just showing publicly. My site has nothing to do with Forthright so it does not help to leave your email here and ask them to contact you. I am just reviewing the site based on my experience. To get in contact with them, you need to go to their website and contact their support.
Yes, I know, and I’m just asking for your help and advice, I wanted to speak with you personally via email to help me with Fortright, but anyway.
Do I have to verify my phone number to be approved in the partner surveys? I just need to check the phone, is that why I haven’t received partner surveys?
There is an “about my” section here on my website where you can find my email. But I cannot help verify your account. You need your own US phone number for that – and yes, if you have not verified your phone number that is the reason you are not getting any surveys.
Now that I’m looking for payout I cannot reach customer service. They keep sending me surveys, but I can’t get paid for completing them! All avenues I’ve tried in which to contact Beforthright have failed!
Sorry to hear that Annie. Hope they will get back to you at some point so you can get your money.
Thanks for sharing your experience and feel free to keep me updated about how it goes.
Mikael
Are they accepting any new members now?
Hi Elizabitha,
If you live in the US they do, yes.
