Is FatCoupon Legit or a Scam? (Full Review + Rating)

FatCoupon Rating

FatCoupon is a decent cashback site. If it weren’t for its high payout threshold, I would regard this site a bit higher. The main advantage of it is that you can find plenty of cashback offers from popular retailers.

I tested FatCoupon to see what it offers and whether it is worth it. It has plenty of cashback offers from popular stores, but the payout threshold is high. Below is what I found, what readers report, and which sites I would pick first.

The short answer

FatCoupon is a real cashback site. Most of its offers come from popular stores like Amazon, Target and Walmart, and it pays through PayPal, bank transfer and gift cards. The cashback rates are 2% to 10%.

But the payout threshold is high: the lowest reward I saw was $25. Cashback takes around 45 to 60 days to clear. Two readers report cashback that was cancelled after it was earned, a rejected redemption and an inactive account. If you want to earn without spending money, the top survey and GPT sites in your country are a better choice.

What I like
  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • The app is user-friendly
  • A lot of the cashback offers come from popular stores
  • Chrome extension finds cashback and coupons for you
What I don’t like
  • High payout threshold
  • Some readers report cancelled cashback and a rejected redemption
  • Cashback rates of only 2% to 10%
  • Mostly for the US, the UK and Canada

Is FatCoupon legit and safe?

FatCoupon is a real cashback site, and you can earn from it. Some readers report losing cashback they had earned. Here is what you should know.

  • Some readers report cancelled cashback

In 2022, two readers told me FatCoupon cancelled cashback they had already earned. One had a redemption rejected for a negative balance. The other found the account inactive. None of the readers who commented wrote that they were paid.

  • High payout threshold

The lowest reward I could see was $25, which takes 25,000 coins. With cashback rates of 2% to 10%, it can take time to get there.

  • Cashback takes 45 to 60 days

Cashback is only awarded after the store’s refund period. This is normal for cashback sites, but it means your coins stay pending for weeks.

  • You have to spend money

Cashback and most daily tasks need a purchase. Some coupons also cost money. Only buy what you would buy anyway.

  • Mostly for the US, the UK and Canada

Most stores with offers are in these countries. Elsewhere, you will find few offers.

My takeFatCoupon has plenty of cashback offers from popular retailers, and the app is easy to use. But the payout threshold is high, and two readers wrote that they lost cashback they had earned. If you use it, cash out as soon as you can. If you are mainly looking to earn without spending any cash, I recommend the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead.

FatCoupon needs a purchase and $25 to cash out. The top sites in your country let you earn without spending money.

How you earn on FatCoupon

There are 3 ways to earn, plus coupons that save you money. Cashback is the main one. Tap one to read more.

Cashback offers2% to 10%
Cashback offers on FatCoupon

Pick a store in the member dashboard, read the requirements on the details page, and click Start Shopping. Complete your purchase as you normally would, and FatCoupon tracks it.

You can also install the Chrome extension. It applies cashback when you shop at a store with an offer, without logging in to the dashboard. Cashback is awarded after the store’s refund period, usually 45 to 60 days.

Daily tasksFatCoupon coins

The daily tasks are in the browser extension. Most ask you to buy something from a store. Sometimes there is a task that does not need a purchase. I highly recommend you do those, because you earn without spending money.

CouponsUp to 80% off
Coupons on FatCoupon

This is not a way to earn, but a way to save. The extension alerts you when a store has a coupon code. You can also find all coupons in the Deals section. Some coupons are free, others you have to buy.

Referral program$10 per referral
FatCoupon referral program conditions

Share your referral link. When your referral earns and redeems at least 50,000 coins ($50) within one year, you get $10 and they get $5. They get another $10 if they install the browser extension.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on how often you shop and on the offers available. Most offers on FatCoupon come from popular stores like Amazon, Target and Walmart, so there is a good chance you find offers you are interested in.

The cashback rates are only 2% to 10%, which is not very high. And you need at least $25 in coins to redeem a reward, so it can take time.

Keep in mind that cashback is only yours once you are paid. Two readers wrote that cashback they had earned was cancelled.

  1. They are a bunch of scammers. Let me share my experience:

I had $140 of earned cashback at the start of December. Suddenly they started canceling all my orders and the amount went down to $25.

Today I tried to access my account and it says “account inactive”.

I have been using cashback sites for more than 5 years and NEVER had such issues with other companies.

Conclusion: Stay away from these rats and only use reputable sites.

  2. This company is a deceiver. I redeemed 50000 points. While processing redemption, they made one of the cash back disappeared (which was earlier approved / payable and rejected my redemption stating negative balance. Be careful doing business with them.
