Is BuzzBack a Scam or Legit? (Review + Inside Look)

BuzzBack Rating

BuzzBack is a legit survey site. It can be a decent secondary site to join because it pays fairly well per survey. However, don’t expect to earn quickly from it because you won’t get surveys very often.

I looked into BuzzBack to see if its survey panel is worth joining. It is legit and pays fairly well per survey, but you will not get surveys very often, and payouts are slow. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

The short answer

BuzzBack is legit. It has been in operation since 2000, and it pays you for completing its surveys. It pays fairly well per survey, around $5 on average, based on what long-time members say.

But you will not get survey invites very often, the $15 threshold is relatively high, and it takes around 3 to 4 weeks to receive your payment. It can be a decent secondary site, but do not expect to earn quickly from it.

What I like
  • A relatively high reward for each survey you complete
  • You can withdraw your earnings to PayPal
  • Mobile-optimized website
  • Contact form, phone number and email support
What I don’t like
  • The website has little information about its survey panel
  • Relatively high payout threshold of $15
  • Slow payout processing: around 3 to 4 weeks
  • Survey invites are not regular
  • Only for US residents

My experience with BuzzBack

I looked at BuzzBack’s registration, its surveys, the payment options, the website on a phone and the support options. This is what I checked, and what I did not test.

Is BuzzBack legit and safe?

Yes, BuzzBack is legit. The many years it has existed are proof enough. But that does not automatically make it a good survey panel to join. Here is what you should know.

  • Survey invites are not regular

You will not always get survey invites, and you will not always qualify for the ones you get. So it takes some time to reach the payout threshold.

  • Slow payouts

Based on feedback from long-time members, it takes around 3 to 4 weeks before a PayPal payment is processed. Compared to the fastest-paying survey sites, that is a very long time.

  • Little information about the panel

The website is mostly aimed at BuzzBack’s business clients. You do not see what the survey panel offers until you sign up, and there is no information about product tests or sweepstakes.

  • The sign-up link is hard to find

To join, you scroll down and click the “Sign Up For Online Surveys” link at the bottom of the website. Then you fill in the registration form and answer several profile questions.

My takeAll in all, BuzzBack is a decent survey site to join because it pays well per survey. That is its main strength. But do not expect to earn quickly from it, because you will not always get survey offers.

How you earn on BuzzBack

There are 3 ways to earn. Surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysAround $5 each
BuzzBack paid surveys

You receive survey invitations by email from time to time, and you see the available surveys when you log in. Each survey starts with qualifying questions. If you qualify, you take the survey. If not, you move on to the next one, if there is any.

Surveys typically take around 15 to 20 minutes, which is quite long, in my opinion. Based on what long-time members say, you get around $5 per survey on average. Not a lot of survey sites offer that kind of reward per survey. The longer the survey, the more you earn.

Product testingKeep the product

From time to time, BuzzBack’s clients invite members to test a product. Long-time members say that if you are lucky, the product is mailed to you, and you get to keep it.

The website has no information about this. In my experience, panels like this include a prepaid envelope for your feedback, or ask you to fill in an online questionnaire.

SweepstakesLuck only

BuzzBack holds sweepstakes regularly, and you earn entries when you complete some surveys. There is no information about how they work. In my experience, survey sites usually hold them every month. Do not count on them.

How much can you make?

How much you make depends on how many survey invites you get. Based on what long-time members say, the average is around $5 per survey, which is a relatively significant amount.

The drawback is that you will not always qualify for the surveys you are invited to, and you will not receive invites regularly. So it still takes some time to reach the $15 threshold.

Payout methods, minimum and speed

MethodMinimumSpeed
PayPal$15Around 3 to 4 weeks, based on what long-time members say
Amazon gift card$15—

The threshold is a bit high, in my opinion, which makes it harder to withdraw your earnings quickly. But it is good that you can withdraw to PayPal. If you want to get paid faster, see the fastest-paying survey sites.
