Is BigSpot.com a Scam or Legit? (Learn the Ugly Truth)

BigSpot Rating

BigSpot.com is just a collection of links to survey sites – and not a very good list. It does not provide any valuable information, and you cannot do any surveys on the site itself.

I signed up for BigSpot.com to see what you really get. It is not a scam, but you cannot take surveys or earn anything on the site itself. Below is what I found, and which survey sites I recommend instead.

Partially Tested Last tested

Not a scam, but not worth signing up for

You only get a short list of links to other survey sites. You cannot earn on BigSpot.com itself.

Good for you ifYou want a one-time look at a few survey sites and do not mind giving your email for it.
Skip it ifYou want to take paid surveys and earn rewards. BigSpot.com does not offer any.

The short answer

BigSpot.com is not a scam. It is not trying to trick you out of your money, and the survey sites I have seen it promote over the years are legit.

But you cannot take surveys or get paid on BigSpot.com itself. After you join, all you get is a short list of links to other survey sites, where you have to register again. Before you join, the site makes it look like you can earn there. In my opinion, it is a waste of time.

What I like
  • Free to join
  • Only promotes legit survey sites
What I don’t like
  • You cannot earn on the site
  • No real members area
  • Very short list of survey sites, with no in-depth info
  • Makes it look like you can earn on the site before you join
  • You only see the list once

My experience with BigSpot.com

I signed up for BigSpot.com to see what it offers, and I have kept an eye on the sites it promotes over the years. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is BigSpot.com legit and safe?

BigSpot.com is not a scam. It is nothing like the outright survey scam sites that exist. But it is not worth joining. Here is what you should know.

  • It looks like you can earn there

The front page and the TV commercials make it look like you can join, take surveys and get paid on BigSpot.com. You cannot. You are only matched with other sites.

  • You give your email before you know what you get

There is almost no information before you join: a privacy policy, terms, a contact form and the sign-up form. Some complaints online claim BigSpot.com sells your information. I have not seen any proof of that, and its privacy policy says it will not sell or share it.

  • A waste of time

You join one site just to be sent to other sites, where you have to register again. You can find a list of survey sites in many other places without signing up.

  • Not personal recommendations

BigSpot.com says it recommends panels based on your profile, but you only gave your gender and birthday. In reality, it promotes whatever offers it gets paid to promote.

My takeBigSpot.com is not a scam, but in my opinion, it is also NOT worth signing up for. You can find a list of survey sites in many other places without having to sign up, and at the same time, get more in-depth information so you know what you are signing up for.

BigSpot.com only gives you a few links. These sites in your country let you take paid surveys yourself.

What happens after you join BigSpot.com?

On most survey sites, you get a members’ area with surveys, or email invitations when a new survey is available. That is not what you get at BigSpot.com.

All you get is a short list of other survey sites you can join. No reviews and no explanation of what the sites offer. You then have to register again on each site you want to use. Once you have seen the list, you cannot even get back to it.

The second step in the small drawing on the front page does say you will be matched with companies that need your opinion. But if you are not used to survey sites, you would very likely think you can earn on BigSpot.com itself. You cannot.

How much can you make?

Nothing on BigSpot.com itself. It does not give you any surveys, so it does not pay you. That is also why you cannot find any information about its rewards before you join.

You can earn on the survey sites it links to, by signing up and completing surveys there. Paid survey sites offer rewards like PayPal cash, Amazon e-certificates, prepaid Visa cards, Bitcoin and gift cards. If you want cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

  1. Fantastic post about BigSpot! Very helpful and includes research and personal experience. I was wondering if along the way you may have found a useful alternative site that provides a way to reach these survey sites easily without BigSpot’s list of links and where these easily accessible links might be found in one place? And also if there are survey sites that provide a better experience and gets more involved with its members with rewards and such?

    • Thanks for your comment Dominic. To find a list of legit survey sites that all offer rewards and are safe to use, you can check out my Top 10 paying survey sites list. There are many more legit survey sites than these, but these are the ones I have found to be the best. But you can also check out the reviews here on my site to see info about many other survey sites.

  2. Hey Mikael,

If am not wrong, this website is more like a medium to actual paid survey sites, right? Which I’m thinking they will be paid by redirecting you to those sites through their links.

I’m so deceived. I was thinking they had real surveys, and the simple registration got me wondering too.

Do you think it is wise to join the sites through their links, or it would be great to just do a Google search?

    • Yes you are right Dave – BigSpot is just a list of actual paid survey sites and does not offer any surveys itself.

There is no harm in signing up for the actual survey sites through BigSpot, but also absolutely no need to even join to get a list like that. The list BigSpot is offering is not really worth much anyways, and only gives a list of very few of the survey sites that are available (the ones they get paid to refer people to), and you cannot see any further information about the different survey sites before you use the link to go to their sites.

So yes, I would suggest to just do a google serach instead, or you can also start by checking out the Top 10 list here on my website or read some of the many reviews I have here on this website, to find the right sites for you.

      All the best,
      Mikael

  3. Hey Mikael
Thanks for your review of bigspot. I share your interest in making money online and I too have come across several survey websites promising to make me money by completing surveys. Overall, the majority of the sites I have tried do actually work but some are definitely better than others. In regards to bigspot, I have never heard of it before now but I have seen similar sites that like this one only seem to link you to other sites. Obviously, we know they do this to earn referrals and generate money for themselves but like you said it really is unnecessary to sign up for a site like this. All it takes to find good survey sites is a little research and some honest reviews to find out which will suit you best. My favorite survey site that I use is Pinecone Research, it is super simple to use and every survey pays out $3 which is nice as well.
