American Consumer Opinion Review (Surprise – Open for ALL)

American Consumer Opinion Rating

Confusingly enough you can join ACOP from any country. It is a decent site, but it does not have that many opportunities, so you should make sure to also use other sites. You can check out the link below for the best alternatives.

I tested American Consumer Opinion thoroughly and compared it to the hundreds of other survey sites I have tested. It is legit, open in any country and easy to use, but you get few survey invites and fairly low rewards. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

The short answer

American Consumer Opinion (ACOP) is legit and definitely not a scam. It has been around since 1986, and it pays real money for answering its surveys. Despite its name, you can join from any country.

But survey invites are not frequent, and the rewards are fairly low. Members also report that payments can take two to three months. It is a viable secondary site, not a main one.

What I like
  • Low payment threshold of $10
  • Convenient payment methods, including PayPal
  • User-friendly site on desktop and mobile
  • Multiple options for support
What I don’t like
  • Low survey invite frequency
  • Fairly low rewards
  • Members report payments taking two to three months
  • No app

Is American Consumer Opinion legit and safe?

Yes, American Consumer Opinion is legit and definitely not a scam. But there are things you should know before you invest your time.

  • Few survey invites

Feedback from longtime members shows that survey invites are not frequent. It depends on your demographic profile, but expect it to take weeks to reach the payment threshold.

  • Payments can take months

There is a lot of feedback from members about payment delays. They say it can sometimes take two to three months to receive a payment you requested.

  • You only get surveys that fit you

American Consumer Opinion only sends you surveys if you fit the demographic it is looking for. Fill out your profile after joining.

  • A reader reports an error after surveys

A reader wrote in December 2025 that since November 2025, they get a connection error after completing a survey, and that support replies with more questions.

My takeEven though the rewards for the surveys that American Consumer Opinion provides are quite low, it is still a viable option as a secondary site to earn money. The low payment threshold balances that out. Plus, if you ever encounter problems with your account, it is easy to contact them. There are better survey sites with better rewards, depending on the country you live in.

How you earn on American Consumer Opinion

There are 2 ways to earn. Surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveys5–50 points each
American Consumer Opinion member dashboard

After you register, your member dashboard shows the surveys you can take. Each survey shows how many points you earn, but not how long it takes. The average survey takes 10 minutes.

You only get surveys if you fit the demographic the survey is looking for, so fill out your profile.

Research projectsReward shown first

Sometimes you can test new or improved products at no cost; they mail you the product. You may also be asked to join in-person group discussions or online discussion forums, or to visit a store or restaurant.

When you are invited, you are told the reward first. It is cash or a gift reward.

How much can you make?

You can’t really expect to earn a lot. 100 points are worth $1, and a survey pays at most 50 points, so it takes time to reach the 1,000-point threshold.

Survey invites are not frequent, so expect weeks before you can request a payment. The low payment threshold makes it a viable secondary site.

Payout methods and minimum

MethodMinimum
PayPal1,000 points ($10)
Hyperwallet1,000 points ($10)
Charity donation1,000 points ($10)
Sweepstakes entriesYou convert points into entries

If a PayPal payment comes back as “unclaimed”, “denied” or “returned”, American Consumer Opinion emails you and mails you a check instead. So give your real address when you register. The sweepstakes prize varies, so check that you like it before you convert points.
